Qatar has accelerated its mediation drive to implement the second stage of the Gaza Strip ceasefire deal. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Dr. Majed Al Ansari revealed sustained discussions with major players including Egypt, Turkey, and the US.

Speaking at Doha’s January 6 press briefing, Dr. Al Ansari detailed priorities: advancing the ceasefire, reactivating Rafah border operations, and ensuring aid flows to stranded civilians.

Talks have yielded agreements on key issues, though sticking points remain under intense review. “We’re committed to resolving these through continuous engagement,” he affirmed, projecting a positive outlook.

Reiterating Qatar’s longstanding position, Dr. Al Ansari stressed that humanitarian assistance must never serve as leverage in disputes. Aid delivery to Gaza residents stands as an unconditional duty.

On Venezuela’s unfolding crisis, Qatar called for calm, tension reduction, and negotiated solutions, backing peaceful pathways forward.

Qatar’s proactive stance positions it as a cornerstone of international diplomacy, bridging divides in protracted conflicts like Gaza while addressing wider geopolitical tensions.
