  • Rihanna is pregnant again, rep says after Super Bowl show

    By PTI

ARIZONA:  Rihanna was pregnant with her second child as she performed her Super Bowl halftime show Sunday.

The singer’s representative confirmed the pregnancy shortly after she ended her 13-minute set at Super Bowl 57.

She hovered high at times as she performed a number of hits including “We Found Love,” “Diamonds” and “Work” during a halftime break between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

The baby bump that was visible in the tight clothes she wore under her baggy red jumpsuit set off a wave of social media speculation that she might be pregnant again.

Rihanna, 34, has a nine-month-old son with rapper A$AP Rocky.

During her media preview Thursday, Rihanna said she was initially unsure about taking on the challenge of performing during a time when she was three months postpartum and wondered “should I be making major decisions like this right now? I might regret this.”

“But when you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you can take on the world, you can do anything,” Rihanna said.

“The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages of the world. As scary as that was because I hadn’t been on stage in seven years, there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all”.

Rihanna said had to figure out how to fit some of her biggest songs into her 13-minute set.

“The setlist was the biggest challenge,” she said.

“That was the hardest, hardest part. Deciding how to maximize 13 minutes but also celebrate, that’s what this show is going to be. It’s going to be a celebration of my catalogue in the best way that we could have put it together.”

A nine-time Grammy Award-winner, Rihanna has 14 No.1 Billboard Hot 100 hits, including “We Found Love”, “Work,” “Umbrella” and “Disturbia”.

She has been looked after by the staff since then.

On August 19, Devi gave birth to a child in the jail hospital under the supervision of Jail Medical Officer Ratnasen.

  • ‘Need to fine-tune rules to allow abortion till 24 weeks of pregnancy’: SC on MTP Act

The court said it is reserving its verdict on the issue of interpretation of the MTP Act and will include 'unmarried woman' or 'single woman' to allow them the benefit of abortion up to 24 weeks.

  • ‘Unmarried women’ now in Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act

    By Express News Service

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Thursday expanded the scope of the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act (MTP) to include “unmarried woman” and allowed a woman to abort her 24-week pregnancy arising out of a consensual relationship.

A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud, Surya Kant and AS Bopanna directed the AIIMS director to set up a medical board of two doctors to examine the woman by Friday under the provisions of the MTP Act. It also asked the board to determine whether the pregnancy, if terminated could risk the life of the woman or not. “We request the AIIMS director to constitute a medical board in terms of provisions of Section 3(2)(d) MTP Act by tomorrow (Friday). In the event the medical board concludes that the foetus can be aborted without any danger to the life of the petitioner (woman), the AIIMS shall carry out the abortion in terms of the petition…,” the bench said.

The SC sought the report of the medical board within one week of the procedure and said the order of the Delhi High Court stands modified to the above extent. The bench said provisions of the MTP Act amended in 2021 include the word “partner” instead of “husband” in the explanation to section 3, which shows the intent of Parliament that it was not to confine the situations arising only out of matrimonial relationships.

It said the use of the word “partner” ascribes to an intention of Parliament to cover “unmarried woman” under the act, which is in consonance with the Constitution. It added that the Delhi HC had taken an unduly restricted view by not allowing the woman to undergo medical termination of pregnancy at 23 weeks arising out of a consensual relationship on the ground that she was “unmarried”.

The bench sought the assistance of Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati on the interpretation of the provisions of the act and observed that allowing the petitioner woman to suffer an unwanted pregnancy will be contrary to the object and spirit of the legislation.

It said the petitioner should not be denied the benefit of the law merely on the ground that she is an unmarried woman. In an order issued on July 16, a Delhi HC bench refused to grant permission to the woman to abort the 23-week foetus, saying it is not permitted under the abortion law after 20 weeks for pregnancy arising out of a consensual relationship.

The petitioner, a 25-year-old woman, had told the court that her partner, with whom she was in a consensual relationship, had refused to marry her. She had stressed that giving birth outside the wedlock would cause her psychological agony as well as social stigma and she was not mentally prepared to be a mother.

  • Britney Spears says she’s lost baby due to miscarriage

    By Associated Press

LOS ANGELES: Britney Spears says she has lost a baby early in her pregnancy. Spears announced the loss on Instagram Saturday in a joint post with her partner, Sam Asghari. The pop superstar, who gained her freedom from a court conservatorship that controlled her life for more than a decade, said in April that she was expecting a child with Asghari.

“It is with deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent,” the post said. “Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news.”

“Our love for each other is our strength,” the post said. “We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family.”

The 40-year-old Spears has said she longed for a baby with the 28-year-old Asghari, a personal trainer, but also said the nearly 14-year-long conservatorship that ended last year forced her to remain on birth control.

The two met on the set of her “Slumber Party” video in 2016. Spears has two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

WASHINGTON: Singer Britney Spears is expecting a child with fiance Sam Asghari. On Tuesday, Britney took to Instagram and shared the good news with her fans and followers. ” So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby,” she wrote.

“I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back… I thought ‘Geez … what happened to my stomach ???’ My husband said ‘No you’re food pregnant silly,” she quipped. She also informed that she “won’t be going out as much” so the paparazzi cannot take photos of her for money.

“It’s growing !!! If 2 are in there … I might just lose it… I obviously won’t be going out as much due to the paps getting their money..shot of me…like they unfortunately already have,” Britney added.

The ‘Stranger’ hitmaker, who is already mother to two teen sons, Sean and Jayden, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, also said the pregnancy would likely be “hard” as she had previously experienced perinatal depression.

“it’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression … I have to say it is absolutely horrible … women didn’t talk about it back then … some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her … but now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret… This time I will be doing yoga every day !!! Spreading lots of joy and love,” she concluded.

Britney met Asghari in 2016 when they co-starred in a music video for her single ‘Slumber Party.’

LOS ANGELES: Singer-songwriter Rihanna and rapper A$AP Rocky are expecting their first child together.

According to People magazine, the couple was spotted in New York City over the weekend, where the “Diamonds” hitmaker showed off her baby bump while wearing a long, oversized pink jacket that was unbuttoned at the bottom. The bump was adorned in a gold cross with colourful jewels.

In one of the photos, which were snapped in Harlem, where Rocky grew up, the rapper kisses Rihanna (33) on her forehead as they enjoy a walk in the snow. A source close to the couple said the fashion mogul, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, “couldn’t be happier”.

“Having a baby is something she was never focused on, but being with Rocky opened her up to the idea. She couldn’t be happier and is so excited to be a mom. She is loving all the changes to her body during pregnancy and has always celebrated pregnant women in her runway shows for Fenty,” they said.

A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, last May announced that he is in a relationship with Rihanna. The 33-year-old recording artiste described the multiple Grammy winner as “the love of my life” and “my lady” in an interview with GQ magazine.

Reports of the duo being in a relationship go back to the year 2013, when Rocky supported Rihanna on her ‘Diamonds World Tour’. They also featured in the rapper’s 2013 video for his song “Fashion Killa”. The couple, who are longtime friends, were confirmed to be dating in November 2020.

Speaking of their relationship, the source said Rocky has “doted” on Rihanna from the very beginning. “A lot of guys tried to sweep her off her feet, but Rocky actually managed to do it,” they added. Another insider revealed the couple “live together now and seem beyond happy”.
