Paddy has been procured in the district since December 1. Paddy procurement centers in the paddy procurement centers have become jammed due to absence of paddy at certain time intervals. Most paddy procurement centers do not have comprehensive security arrangements, due to which the security of paddy is under threat. The production of kharif crop is purchased every year by the state government at the support price.
A number of arrangements are also made at the paddy procurement centers for the purpose of better keeping the produce of the farmers, but in most centers, arrangements are not made to deal with arson, which is why most of the paddy procurement centers have fire retardant goods. Arrangements are not made, if something accidental happens during this time, it will be difficult to control the fire, because paddy sacks are kept in all the centers.
Farmer Tejaram Sahu Bishalik Dewangan said that apart from arson, there is a danger of paddy soaking even in the event of unseasonal rains, there is no comprehensive arrangement for this. Last year, due to this water paddy started getting spoiled. This also needs attention. In this regard, Prahlada Puri Goswami, the nodal officer of the District Cooperative Center, said that arrangements are made in all paddy procurement centers under instructions issued at the government level. Extensive arrangements have also been made to prevent arson.
