India marks Jan Aushadhi Day today, a nationwide effort to spotlight generic drugs and their benefits for the masses. Top politicians like Nitin Gadkari, Yogi Adityanath, and others showered accolades on the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana, calling it a game-changer for affordable healthcare.

On X, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari lauded the program’s impact: ‘PM Modi’s vision ensures the poor get medicines 50-90% cheaper than market rates. Beyond savings, it’s creating jobs across the country, boosting local economies and health outcomes.’

UP CM Yogi Adityanath described it as a landmark achievement. ‘Under PM Modi’s far-sighted leadership, Jan Aushadhi centers deliver top-quality generics at pocket-friendly prices. It’s the poor’s ally in health crises and the bedrock of a robust India,’ his post read.

Bhupendra Chaudhary, wait no—Pankaj Chaudhary, the UP BJP chief and minister, detailed the scale: ‘PM-guided centers, numbering over 18,660, stock 2,110 medicines and 315 surgical products. They’ve made healthcare accessible and economical for all.’

MP CM Mohan Yadav extended warm wishes: ‘Heartiest greetings on Jan Aushadhi Day. PM Modi’s centers are a blessing, offering low-cost drugs for a healthier nation, especially aiding the underprivileged.’

This annual observance underscores the scheme’s role in curbing medicine inflation, with centers mushrooming in remote areas. By promoting generics, it’s not just saving billions in healthcare costs but also fostering self-reliance in pharmaceuticals. Leaders’ endorsements signal strong political backing, promising further expansion.
