Notably, the BJP strategically appointed Aditya Sahu, a Rajya Sabha MP from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community, as the new working president in Jharkhand. While there was no internal conflict within the BJP regarding this appointment, Congress leader and minister Dr. Irfan Ansari indirectly advised CP Singh to leave the BJP.

Dr. Irfan Ansari, a minister from the Congress quota in Jharkhand, expressed his sentiments regarding CP Singh through a social media post on Saturday. He strongly criticized the BJP for allegedly marginalizing the upper caste community. Ansari’s affection for CP Singh, who has been elected as an MLA from Ranchi for the BJP for the seventh consecutive time, was evident. He penned an open letter to CP Singh, which began with the phrase, ‘Some emotional letters to CP Singh’.

He further wrote, “I have known you for many years. Regardless of which party was in power, I have always stood by the truth, and you have always given me affection and guidance like a son. In the journey of politics, you not only showed me the way, but also held up a mirror to me many times, which is the mark of a true mentor. But today, when I see that even in an organization like the BJP, you are not getting the respect you truly deserve, it causes me deep sorrow.”

He continued, “Is this just a matter of ideology? Or is the question whether being from an upper caste has become a barrier to your respect? Does the BJP now want to marginalize the upper caste community in Jharkhand? You should have become the Leader of the Opposition, but the party did not make you one. You should have become the state president, but you weren’t. Seeing all this happening to you, it seems that deliberate neglect is being shown. All this is happening before my eyes, so it becomes difficult to remain silent.”

Referring to the father-son relationship, Irfan Ansari further stated, “I am in the Congress, you are in the BJP, even if the ideology may be different, but the relationship is that of a son. That’s why a son cannot bear to see the person who gave life to the party being sidelined by the party today.”

Indirectly offering CP Singh to join him, Ansari said, “Enough is enough. What is the point of staying where respect is not given? Your respect is paramount to me. The insult of an experienced, thoughtful, and grounded leader like you is an insult to Jharkhand and also to politics.”

During a rally, Maryam stated that some individuals were politicizing the flood situation. She noted that Punjab was suffering due to the floods, and her government was working to address the crisis. However, some people were raising questions. She stated that if anyone wanted to personally attack her, they could, but if they questioned the flood response, she would break their fingers.

The statement by Maryam Nawaz has caused an uproar in the National Assembly. PPP parliamentarians have demanded an immediate apology from Maryam. PPP members in the Assembly have emphasized that violence has no place in political discourse. They have stated that Maryam’s choice of words towards Bilawal was inappropriate.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government and its party are trying to de-escalate the issue. The Punjab government’s focus is on improving the flood-affected conditions, for which it requires resources.

How did the conflict between the two escalate to this level? Maryam Nawaz’s PML-N and Bilawal Bhutto’s PPP are currently in a coalition government. This raises the question of how their dispute reached the point of finger-breaking threats. There are three primary reasons:

1. Bilawal Bhutto wants to strengthen the emergency fund established in the name of his mother, Benazir Bhutto. He wants all funds to be deposited there and used by the government for public expenditure. Maryam disagrees with this proposal and has rejected the system outright.

2. Bilawal Bhutto has his sights set on Pakistan’s Punjab province. Punjab is the largest province, holding the majority of National Assembly seats. Currently, Bilawal’s party governs Sindh and Balochistan. Gaining ground in Punjab could make the PPP the largest party in Pakistan.

3. The floods in Punjab have displaced 2 million people, causing an estimated loss of 36 billion rupees. It is not easy for the government to provide compensation. Maryam’s government has yet to announce a relief package for the affected people, which has led to questions. Maryam is concerned that increased scrutiny of the issue could create difficulties for her.

Acharya’s post, published at approximately 2:48 PM on Sunday, stated that the rumors spread by trolls, troublemakers, and those with malicious intentions to seize the party are baseless. She clarified that these actions are part of a smear campaign aimed at damaging her image.

She further emphasized that she has no political ambitions and never has had any desire for a position in the government. She doesn’t intend to become a candidate for the assembly or promote anyone else to be one. She has no aspiration for a Rajya Sabha seat and harbors no rivalry with any family member. She also has no desire for any post in the party or any future government. For her, her self-respect, respect and devotion to her parents, and the reputation of her family are of utmost importance.

Prior to this, Acharya had altered her X handle on Saturday, unfollowing Tejashwi Yadav and approximately 67 other RJD and associated leaders. She also changed her profile picture, which previously featured photos of her with Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav. The updated profile picture features Rohini alone. This is considered to indicate the internal conflict within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is intensified because of the controversy with Sanjay Yadav.

The recent controversy involving Rohini Acharya emerged from a post on X before the announcement of the Bihar assembly elections. On September 18, 2025, Acharya’s post exposed the internal discord within the RJD. The post primarily targeted Sanjay Yadav, a close associate of Tejashwi Yadav, whom Rohini described as a ‘substandard’ person. Although she deleted the post later, the party has been grappling with the issue.

On Saturday, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Majid Al-Ansari, announced that the summit would address a proposal concerning the Israeli attacks on Qatar. The draft of this proposal was to be prepared during the ministerial meeting held on Sunday.

Al-Ansari stated that the summit demonstrates broad Arab and Islamic solidarity with the State of Qatar in the face of Israel’s aggressive actions, and a clear condemnation of Israel’s state terrorism.

This summit comes in the wake of an Israeli airstrike on Qatar on Tuesday, which targeted senior Hamas leaders. The attack drew condemnation from Arab nations and Western countries, including the United States. Qatar has become the sixth country targeted by Israel recently, with other targets including Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen.

Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, following a meeting with Trump in New York on Friday, stated that Qatar would collectively respond to the attacks, which have put the entire region at risk.

Qatar has been a long-standing mediator, working to end the Israeli war on Gaza and promote regional unity. The Israeli attack on Qatar has endangered all peace efforts. The summit could lead to major decisions on relations with Israel, potentially including the severing of all ties.

Hezbollah, a major political and armed organization in Lebanon, has not directly opposed this plan. In a statement to Reuters, Hezbollah leader Mahmoud Komati described the meeting as an opportunity to return to reason and logic, indicating a desire to avoid confrontation. Hezbollah’s reasoning suggests that escalating conflict could lead to instability and chaos within the country.

OBC activist Laxman Hake asserted that the state government lacks the authority to issue Kunbi caste certificates to Marathas and warned of OBC community protests. BJP MLC Parinay Phuke maintained that the government’s decision was made after consulting all cabinet members. Prakash Shendge, an OBC leader, stated that a meeting of OBC leaders, led by Chhagan Bhujbal, was held to discuss their opposition to the decision. They plan to protest across Maharashtra, arguing that the Maratha reservation should not infringe upon the existing 50% reservation for OBCs. They have also warned of intense protests if the government grants reservations based on the Hyderabad Gazetteer. Shendge emphasized that the Maratha community already benefits from various existing reservation categories and that the additional demands are illegal and unconstitutional.

Shendge highlighted that while the Maratha community was granted reservations during the tenure of former Chief Minister Eknath Shinde without affecting OBC reservations, the current government has also promised to protect OBC reservations. He urged the government to reconsider the decision and provide the Maratha community with reservations outside the existing 50% quota. Shendge praised Chhagan Bhujbal for consistently advocating for the OBC community. He mentioned that Bhujbal’s absence from the cabinet meeting against the Maratha reservation reflects the OBC community’s concerns. He also added that Bhujbal’s presence in the government is important because his presence ensures that the OBC community’s voices are heard.

Activist Manoj Jarange, who recently ended his hunger strike in Mumbai, is under medical supervision in a private hospital. He attributes the victory to the Maratha community and said that they have won. He also appealed to his supporters to maintain peace. Jarange stated that Chhagan Bhujbal’s absence from the cabinet meeting shows that the Maratha community has succeeded in getting reservation.

Previously, Manoj Jarange led a Maratha reservation protest at Azad Maidan in South Mumbai. After the government accepted most of his demands, he ended his indefinite hunger strike on Tuesday. The government agreed to issue Kunbi caste certificates to eligible Marathas, paving the way for their inclusion in OBC reservation benefits.

Venezuela has become Trump’s new target. While Trump claims to be stopping several wars, he is simultaneously targeting multiple countries in preparation for war. At Trump’s order, a U.S. naval fleet has arrived at the international border near Venezuela. This deployment is set for three months, during which the naval fleet will continuously patrol. While this action could be routine, the U.S. fleet stationed near Venezuela includes 3 destroyers, 4,000 soldiers, as well as spy planes and submarines, indicating that the U.S. is not preparing for a routine operation, but rather intends to escalate the confrontation with Venezuela. This move by the US has surprised the world. The hefty reward of approximately 4 billion rupees for the arrest of a president has sparked various speculations. It is also thought that Trump is taking revenge for actions committed 26 years ago by Maduro’s mentor.

**What happened 26 years ago?**
The conflict between Venezuela and the US began roughly 26 years ago. In 1999, Hugo Chavez took the helm of Venezuela. Immediately after becoming president, Chavez opened a front against the US. The tension escalated to the point where the US attempted a coup, but it was unsuccessful. It is said that Chavez sowed the seeds of the communist ideology that the US is troubled by. Subsequently, Chavez did not hold back and repeatedly used terms like ‘devil’ and ‘joker’ to describe American presidents.

**He first called Bush the devil**
After the increased tension 26 years ago, in 2006, the then-Venezuelan President Chavez strongly criticized the then-US President George W. Bush at the United Nations General Assembly. He called Bush the devil and said that he considered himself the owner of the world. Chavez said about Bush’s previous speech, ‘Yesterday the devil came here, and right here today there still smells of sulfur.’ According to an old report from the New York Times, after this, Chavez made the sign of the cross on himself in a prayerful gesture, clasped his hands, and looked towards the ceiling. Chavez then said, ‘I call the American President the devil, who came here and spoke as if he was the owner of the entire world.’

**Obama was called a joker**
Hugo did not stop there. In 2011, after being diagnosed with cancer and before going on his first foreign trip, he called Barack Obama a joker on December 20th. He said, ‘Pay attention to your administration, which you have turned into a disaster.’ Chavez used these words for Obama when the latter criticized Venezuela’s trade and political relations with Iran and Cuba. Chavez said, ‘Obama has decided to attack us. That is, they want to win votes by attacking Venezuela. He is a joker, let us live in peace and get votes by fulfilling the promises made.’

**Maduro is Chavez’s disciple**
Venezuelan President Maduro is considered to be a disciple of Chavez. He was one of Chavez’s most trusted confidants, in the government from 1999 to 2013. He served as his foreign minister for a long time and later became the vice president. In 2012, when Chavez had cancer, he clearly stated that if anything happened to him, Maduro should be chosen as the next president. After Chavez’s death in 2013, Maduro became the acting president and later became president by winning the election.
