  • Pulwama terror attack: Rahul Gandhi slams PM for his ignorance on intelligence inputs

    By ANI
NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday once again slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his ignorance on intelligence inputs, which he claims led to the Pulwama terror attack in 2019.

“On 14th Feb 2019, the PM was busy shooting a film having ignored prior intelligence inputs and leaving our jawans to die in Pulwama. Why were actionable intelligence inputs ignored?” the Congress leader questioned.

He also shared a news clipping which stated “Pulwama terror attack happened despite the two successive actionable intelligence inputs.”

The attack on the CRPF convoy took place in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on February 14, 2019.

A suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the bus. The convoy had 78 buses in which around 2,500 personnel were traveling from Jammu to Srinagar.

  • History of India is not just what was written by those who enslaved us: PM Modi

    By ANI
BAHRAICH: Targeting historians for distorting the history of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the history of India is not just what was written by those who enslaved the country, but also the stories represented in the folk tales of the people.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Maharaja Suheldev Memorial, PM Modi said, “History of India is not just what was written by those who enslaved this country and those with a slave mentality. India’s history is that too which the common people of India have kept in the folk stories of India, that which has been carried forward by generations.”

“Today when India is entering the 75th year of independence, there can be no bigger an occasion to remember and take inspiration from the contribution of such great men (Maharaja Suheldev), their sacrifice, struggle, valour and martyrdom,” PM Modi added.

Citing the example of Subhash Chandra Bose, PM Modi said, “The India of today will not forget the people who in the name of writing history have done a disservice to the people who (Subhash Chandra Bose) shaped history. India of today is making the amendments now.”

Hailing Sardar Patel for playing an important role in bringing 565 princely states under the Indian union, Prime Minister Modi asked, “How well we recognised the man who brought together hundreds of the princely states together. Today, we have the largest statue of Sardar Vallabhai Patel in the world that is inspiring us.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed BR Ambedkar for drawing up a Constitution that protected the rights of backward classes.

“Dr BR Ambedkar, who played a pivotal role in the creation of the country’s Constitution was also seen with a mere political lens. There are several other leaders whose contribution was not recognised for one reason or another,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion of Basant Panchami and Saraswati Puja, Prime Minister said, “This Basant has come with new hopes and new enthusiasm for India that is moving forward, leaving behind the despair of the pandemic.”

The event in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh marks the birth anniversary of Maharaja Suheldev. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath was also present on the occasion.

The complete project will include the installation of an equestrian statue of Maharaja Suheldev and the development of various tourist amenities like a cafeteria, a guest house and a children’s park, a government statement said.

Maharaja Suheldev’s devotion and service to the country is a source of inspiration for all and with the development of this memorial site, the country will be able to get better acquainted with the heroic saga of Maharaja Suheldev. It would also further enhance the tourist potential of this site, it added. (ANI)

  • ‘It’s hard to fill his shoes’: PM Modi bids tearful adieu to outgoing Rajya Sabha MP Ghulam Nabi Azad

    By Online Desk
Recalling the time he worked with outgoing leader of Opposition and veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi got emotional on Tuesday during his Rajya Sabha speech.

“Gujaratis were stranded during a pilgrimage when a terror attack took place in Jammu and Kashmir when he (Azad) called me. He cared for them like his own family,” PM Modi said with tears in his eyes.

Speaking of his camaraderie in the Parliament, the Prime Minister also spoke of other instances where the two opposing leaders shared a laugh or banter. “Whoever takes his place will have a problem as they will have to work really hard to fill his shoes,” he said.

He noted that Azad had called him to ask for an all-party meeting during the COVID-19 period.

“I liked that and also did it. This kind of connection is there because he has the experience of both being in power and in opposition. Twenty-eight years experience in all, it is a big thing,” the Prime Minister said.

Sharing details of their communication during a terrorist attack on some Gujarati pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir, Modi said Azad was the first one to call him about the incident.

With tears rolling down his cheeks, Modi said that Azad cried on the call while informing him about the horrific attack.

“Azad was the first person to call me. During that call he could not stop crying,” Modi said.

Earlier, Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu described Azad as a voice of sanity in public life over few decades when he made valuable contributions while serving both in government and in opposition.

Azad retires from Rajya Sabha on February 15 after being the leader of the opposition for over six years since June 8, 2014.

  • Some forces seated abroad conspiring against India, not sparing even Indian tea: PM Modi

    Express News Service
GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said some forces seated abroad were conspiring against India and they were not sparing even the Indian tea.

“As I talk about the tea workers, I want to tell you of a conspiracy hatched to defame the country. The conspirators have gone to such an extent that they are not sparing even the Indian tea. They are saying the image of Indian tea has to be tarnished worldwide, systematically,” Modi told a crowd after remotely inaugurating and laying the foundation stones of some projects at a programme in poll-bound Assam’s Dhekiajuli.

“The evidence that we have suggests the forces are seated abroad, ready to launch an attack on India’s tea-based identity,” the PM said without naming the forces.

He said the tea workers and each individual who drinks tea will seek an explanation from the political parties for maintaining silence on it.

“But I want to tell the conspirators that no matter how much you conspire, the country won’t allow you to succeed. The tea workers will win this battle. Those who are conspiring to launch an attack on Indian tea, they are not strong enough to confront the strength of our tea workers,” Modi asserted.

The PM underscored various steps initiated to better the lives of tea workers. He spoke about the Cha Bagichhar Dhan Puraskar Mela scheme under which the Assam government has transferred Rs 584 crore to the bank accounts of close to 7.5 lakh tea workers in three instalments.

“Assam’s happiness and progress are Assam’s tea gardens. The red tea of Sonitpur is known for its special flavour. Who knows the taste of Assam tea better than me? That’s why I always see the progress of tea workers with the progress of Assam,” Modi said.

He also made reference to a scheme of Assam’s BJP-led government under which pregnant tea garden women are handed a financial assistance of Rs 12,000. He lauded the government for sending mobile medical units to the tea gardens and supplying free medicines to the workers.

Stating that a special scheme entailing Rs 1,000 crore was announced in the Budget for the welfare of the tea community in Assam, he said this would make the lives of the workers easier.

Faced with a tough election, the BJP is trying to woo the tea workers in Assam. The state has 126 Assembly seats and in 40-42 of them, the votes of tea garden workers determine the fate of candidates.

The problems for the BJP increased in the aftermath of the formation of a Congress-led grand alliance of six Opposition parties and the birth of two regional forces.

  • Committed to the empowerment of kisans, says PM Modi in fresh outreach

    Express News Service
LUCKNOW: Continuing his efforts to pacify the agitating farmers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said his government was committed to their empowerment and self-reliance. He was inaugurating the centenary celebrations of the Chauri Chaura incident in UP, where violence shook the British Raj during the freedom struggle.

Releasing a postal stamp to mark the occasion, the PM said that over 1,000 mandis were being connected with the online agriculture trading platform e-NAM.

“The mandis will be turned into markets of profit for farmers to sell their produce with ease,” he said. Modi listed several measures taken by the Centre towards making farmers self-dependent in the last six years. He said even during the Covid pandemic, the country’s food grain production has soared.

He called upon people to unite in the spirit of freedom struggle to make the growth missions, including Atmanirbhar Bharat Mission, a success. The PM said the Centre was making all efforts to help farmers become atmanirbhar (self-reliant) and had allocated Rs 40,000 crore for the development of rural infrastructure in the Budget.

“Farmers will directly benefit from investment in the infrastructure sector. Agriculture will turn into a profitable venture for farmers,” he asserted.

On the Chauri Chaura incident, the PM said the efforts of the UP government had resulted in changing the scenario in the Gorakhpur region.

“Earlier, factories were closed, roads were damaged and hospitals shut. Now, a fertilizer factory has come up, which will benefit farmers and generate jobs.” The Chauri Chaura incident is significant in India’s Independence movement.

On February 4, 1922, supporters of the Non-Cooperation Movement clashed with the colonial police, which opened fire. In retaliation, the demonstrators torched the Chauri Chaura police post in Gorakhpur in which 23 personnel were burnt alive. Elaborating on the Budget, the PM said experts were earlier apprehensive about the possible introduction of new taxs owing to the pandemic and the subsequent economic crisis.

“Experts were thinking that the Budget would burden the common man with new taxes. But the Centre ensured that the people are not saddled with additional burden,” Modi said.

    It’s now a ledger account

“The Budget this time has virtually turned into an account book (bahi-khata) of income & expenditure,” Modi said.

Ruckus continues in Lok Sabha, bill introduced

Lok Sabha proceedings were disrupted for the third consecutive day on Thursday due to protests by the Opposition over the new farms laws. Amid the din and adjournments, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad  introduced a bill to amend the arbitration law and Union minister Nitin Gadkari replied to a few questions during Question Hour. In the Rajya Sabha, the Opposition launched a vociferous attack on the Centre’s handling of the farmers’ agitation.

    FIR against protest toolkit

The Delhi Police lodged a first information report against unnamed authors of a toolkit that offered suggestions on rustling up international support for the ongoing farmers protests. The toolkit has been doing the rounds on social media and was tweeted by, among others, Swedish teen climate change activist Greta Thunberg. She then deleted and later reposted an updated version of the toolkit. Praveer Ranjan, Special Commissioner of Police said, “We haven’t named anybody in the FIR, it’s only against the creators of toolkit which is a matter of investigation.”

Preliminary enquiry has revealed that the toolkit was created by the Poetic Justice Foundation, a pro-Khalistani outfit. However, legal experts were appalled by the FIR. Senior advocate K V Dhananjay said, “Everybody in the world is competent to tweet about human rights abuse anywhere in the world. It is shameful that the Delhi Police is making our police force, judiciary and the legal profession become a laughing stock the world over.”

  • Covid vaccine will be free for 3 crore healthcare, frontline workers: PM

    By Express News Service
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday assured Chief Ministers that the Centre will fully bear the expenses of vaccination against Covid-19 for nearly 3 crore healthcare and frontline workers in the first phase as the government inked the first purchase agreement with the Serum Institute of India.

The confirmation by the PM ahead of the Covid-19 vaccination roll-out, planned for Saturday, came on the day the Centre signed a deal with Pune-based SII, which is manufacturing Covid-19 vaccine by Oxford University-AstraZeneca in India, to supply it nearly 11 million doses, costing Rs 200 each, in the first go.

The Centre also signed a purchase agreement with Bharat Biotech for about 4 million doses. The cost of each dose of the vaccine, said sources, is nearly Rs 300.

SII’s Covishield along with Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin have been granted restricted emergency use permission under the accelerated approval process of the Central Drugs Standards Control Organization.

The first phase of vaccination will target those above 50 and younger people with serious comorbidities, after the most prioritized group consisting of healthcare and frontline workers is inoculated with two doses each.

In the meeting with CMs, PM also said that politicians should not jump the queue, insisting that people’s representatives such as MPs and MLAs should not get the vaccine in the first phase and asked states to ensure that no rumours are spread against vaccination as the massive drive kicks off.

“Health workers – government as well as private – will be vaccinated first of all. Sanitation workers, other frontline workers, defence forces, police and other paramilitary forces will also be vaccinated in the first phase,”

Vaccine rollout will begin from January 16 with the help of 61,000 programme managers, 2 lakh vaccinators and 3.7 lakh other vaccination team members, CMs were informed and were also apprised that the priority of vaccination has been decided as per the advice of the experts and scientific community after consultation with the states.

The PM also underlined that the vaccination drive in India is also significant since several other countries are going to follow the country.

The vaccination for Covid-19 has been going on in about 50 countries since past 3-4 weeks, and till now, only about 2.5 crore people have received the vaccination, he said, highlighting that India, on the other hand, has set an ambitious target of vaccinating nearly 30 crore people in the next few months.

Modi further said that proper mechanisms have been put in place in case a person feels discomfort due to the vaccine, adding that such a mechanism is already in place for a universal immunization programme, and it has been further strengthened for this vaccination drive.

  • Assess use of local lockdowns, push to reopen economy, says  ..

PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday indicated his scepticism over “local lockdowns” imposed for a day or two in combating Covid-19 and asked high focus states to assess if such measures are hindering restoration of economic activities while proving to be of little use.
Urging states to weigh the impact and utility of local lockdowns, the PM emphasised the need to focus on “micro containment zones” as a way forward to curb the infection spread and also allow usual activities to go on. With arbitrary local lockdowns in July and August seen to hurt the economy and disrupt supply chains, the Centre had directed states to avoid such measures unless cleared by the home ministry.

In his interaction with chief ministers and health ministers from seven high burden states, Modi strongly highlighted the crucial role of masks in combating Covid-19, saying it may be difficult to make this a habit but positive outcomes cannot be achieved without adopting the protective measure in daily lives.

  • Document Speaks! Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Issues Complete Account Of Rs 1 Lakh Crore Orders to HAL

The Rafale debate is at peak this time. Congress President is continuously getting slammed back to back on his lies by PM Narendra Modi and his team. After hitting the Congress President two days before on his lies today again Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman naked him by presenting the documents regarding the contracts given to HAL in front of him.

This all was in wake of Congress President Rahul Gandhi attack on defence minister. On Sunday he tweeted a report questioning the contracts worth Rs 1 lakh given to HAL and demanded the resignation of Nirmala Sitharaman, which was immediately countered by the Defence Minister.

“When you tell one lie, you need to keep spinning out more lies, to cover up the first one. In her eagerness to defend the PM’s Rafale lie, the RM lied to Parliament. Tomorrow, RM must place before Parliament documents showing 1 Lakh crore of Govt orders to HAL. Or resign,” his Twitter message read.

Defence Minister today slapped him back by showing all the documents of contract worth Rs 1 Lakh
“In 2019, regarding procurement order regarding HAL, I had mentioned that there are 83 LCA Tejas fighters order worth Rs 50,000 crores, 15 combat helicopters order worth Rs 3,000 crores, 200 orders worth Rs 20,000 crore and 19 Dronier transport aircraft worth Rs 3,400 crores, helicopters worth Rs 15,000 crore and aero-engines worth Rs 8,400 crores. The total comes to Rs 1 lakh crore.”

Even after being slammed so many times, Congress President is not stopping his lies on Rafale. He is continually risking the security of the nation.

People should be vigilant enough to slam such a person who doesn’t know an inch of anything and is just repeating same lies again and again to divert the people. For fulfilling his political motives he is continually putting the national security at risk.
