Devotees visiting the renowned Jharkhand Dham temple in Giridih district are now experiencing darshan in complete darkness due to the malfunction of a high mast light. This significant light installation, located near the wedding hall, used to illuminate the surrounding area with a bright glow as soon as dusk fell, providing much-needed visibility for pilgrims during the night. The fifty-one-foot Hanuman temple outside the main Baba temple was particularly well-lit, benefiting countless visitors for several months. The absence of this light not only plunges the area into darkness but also raises concerns about the potential presence of venomous creatures, making it difficult for people to move around safely after sunset. This light was installed using MPLADS funds prior to the last state assembly elections, bringing hope for consistent illumination. However, this vital development, once attributed to the current Member of Parliament, Annapurna Devi, is now on the verge of disappearing. Despite multiple complaints lodged with the concerned department regarding the faulty light, no effective action has been taken so far. Local representatives, including Mukhiya Ashutosh Kushwaha, Panchayat Samiti members Rajesh Verma, Dilip Pandey, Subhash Panda, and Mukhiya Pati Lakshman Mahto, along with Ranjit Mandal and Vikas Mandal, have urgently appealed for the immediate repair of the high mast light.
