As India commemorated its 77th Republic Day, the Namo Bharat project illuminated the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor with tricolor splendor. Stations bathed in saffron, white, and green lights stood as beacons of modernity and nationalism, captivating commuters on this high-speed rail network.

The festive decorations transformed the transit points into symbols of progress. Travelers paused to admire the glowing facades, which mirrored the nation’s aspirations for development and harmony. This Republic Day setup highlighted how infrastructure can inspire patriotism.

A special highlight was the celebration of ‘Vande Mataram’s’ 150th year. Trains broadcast the iconic anthem throughout the journey, evoking goosebumps and applause from passengers. The song’s timeless appeal united strangers in a chorus of national devotion.

Ghaziabad station hosted an immersive exhibit on the anthem’s legacy. From its composition during the freedom movement to its enduring influence, interactive displays brought history alive. Visitors, young and old, left with renewed appreciation for India’s struggle and triumphs.

NCRTC’s ‘Gantantra Gourav Utsav’ at the station featured a lively inter-school singing contest. Talented children from top schools in the region performed with infectious enthusiasm, their voices rising in perfect harmony. NCRTC leaders witnessed the event, applauding the future generation’s spirit.

This approach positions Namo Bharat not just as a transport lifeline but as a cultural nexus. Regular events like these strengthen community bonds and instill pride, making public spaces alive with the essence of India.

Get ready for an unforgettable Republic Day 2026 as India pays homage to 150 glorious years of ‘Vande Mataram.’ Composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay amid the 1876 Bengal famine, this anthem became the battle cry of India’s independence movement, rallying millions against British tyranny.

Official announcements reveal a revamped national parade with ‘Vande Mataram’ as the central theme. Rajpath will transform into a canvas of history, with 29 state floats depicting the song’s journey—from its literary origins to its adoption during freedom marches and post-independence reverence.

Highlights include a massive choral performance by 10,000 voices, drone shows forming the tricolor and musical notes over the Red Fort, and AR experiences allowing virtual participation nationwide. The President will confer special awards to custodians of the anthem’s tradition, from musicians to historians.

Beyond Delhi, pan-India initiatives feature light-and-sound spectacles at freedom struggle sites, youth carnivals blending the song with hip-hop and EDM, and a commemorative coin release. This celebration isn’t just ceremonial; it’s a cultural renaissance, reminding a young nation of its unbreakable roots while propelling it toward a visionary future.
