TCS’s Hypervolt data center business will launch with OpenAI, kicking off at 100 MW capacity and expanding to 1 GW over time. This setup will power OpenAI’s advanced models in India, meeting stringent data residency and compliance standards while minimizing delays for mission-critical tasks.

Chandrasekaran called the partnership a ‘key milestone’ toward India’s global AI dominance. ‘We’re thrilled to partner with OpenAI to build cutting-edge AI infrastructure here,’ he added.

The alliance promises industry disruption and workforce transformation. Tata intends to deploy ChatGPT Enterprise group-wide, starting with TCS’s vast employee base, creating one of the largest such implementations globally.
