The web portal for the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2025 has been launched by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. The registration and nomination submission process commenced on October 1, 2025, with nominations accepted until November 15, 2025. The event saw the presence of District Collectors from all states and Union Territories.

This initiative aims to promote healthy competition, new ideas, and improvements in work processes. The focus will be on how administration and strategies reach the public, with an emphasis on implementing changes at the ground level to ensure tangible results, not just statistical ones. Civil servants who have successfully reached the benefits of schemes to the beneficiaries and fully implemented them will be recognized.

### Who Will Receive the Award?

Applications for the awards will be evaluated based on three parameters: good governance, quality, and quantity. All districts are included in the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2025. Districts with aspirational blocks, covering 500 aspirational blocks spread across 331 districts of India, can participate in the Aspirational Block Programme category.

For Category-I, the work and achievements between April 1, 2022, and September 30, 2025, will be evaluated. For Categories II and III, the evaluation period is from April 1, 2023, to September 30, 2025. A total of 16 awards will be given under the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2025. The process includes shortlisting of districts and organizations by a screening committee in the initial and second stages, evaluation by an expert committee, and final selection by an empowered committee. The recommendations of the empowered committee will be approved by the Prime Minister for the awards.

### What the Prime Minister’s Award 2025 Includes

The award comprises a trophy, a scroll (certificate), and an incentive of ₹20 lakh. This amount will be used for the public welfare of the awarded district or organization.

Vehicle owners across India have the opportunity to resolve outstanding traffic challans at the National Lok Adalat, scheduled for September 13, 2025. This initiative, taking place in courts nationwide, addresses minor traffic violations. These include infractions such as driving without a helmet or seatbelt, speeding, improper parking, or lacking a Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate. Participants can benefit from reduced fines or complete waivers, saving both time and money while avoiding lengthy court proceedings. This platform excludes serious offenses like drunk driving, hit-and-run incidents, and negligent driving resulting in fatalities. The program’s objective is to alleviate pressure on the courts and encourage greater adherence to traffic regulations among the public.

To participate in the Delhi Lok Adalat and settle pending traffic challans or e-challans, online registration is mandatory. The process involves visiting the Delhi Traffic Police website at traffic.delhipolice.gov.in and selecting the ‘Delhi State Legal Services Authority’ option. Applicants must then provide details such as their full name, contact number, vehicle registration number, and challan information before submitting the form. Upon successful submission, a token number and appointment letter are sent via email, along with confirmation and token download links. The Lok Adalat hearings will take place from 10 AM to 4 PM.

On the hearing date, vehicle owners are required to bring their printed appointment letter, token number, and original documents, including vehicle papers and challan receipts. Authorities advise arriving at the venue at least one hour prior to the scheduled proceedings. The upcoming Lok Adalat will offer relief, in the form of waivers or reduced fines, for minor traffic offenses. These include not wearing a seat belt or helmet, disregarding traffic signals, speeding, improper parking, driving without a valid PUC, missing number plates, lacking a vehicle fitness certificate, driving in the wrong lane, driving without a valid license, incorrectly issued challans, and other unspecified offenses.

Serious violations will not be eligible for relief under this scheme. These include driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, hit-and-run cases, fatalities caused by negligent driving, underage driving, illegal racing or speed trials, vehicles associated with criminal investigations, cases already in court, and challans issued by authorities in other states. In Delhi, Lok Adalat sessions will be held at various locations. These venues include Dwarka Court, Tis Hazari Court, Rohini Court, Rouse Avenue Court, Karkardooma Court, Patiala House Court, and Saket Court. Additional sessions will also be conducted at the Delhi High Court, District Courts, the Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, the Debt Recovery Tribunal, the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, and Permanent Lok Adalats.

The Lok Adalat provides numerous benefits to citizens. These include the ability to settle minor violations with reduced or waived fines, avoid legal expenses, save time by bypassing extensive court procedures, and allow the judiciary to focus on more serious cases. This initiative promotes greater adherence to traffic laws while streamlining the resolution of minor disputes.

Planning a trip to the scenic hills of Mussoorie? The Uttarakhand Tourism Department has implemented mandatory online registration for all visitors. This new regulation, prompted by the National Green Tribunal…

Planning a trip to the scenic hills of Mussoorie? The Uttarakhand Tourism Department has implemented mandatory online registration for all visitors. This new regulation, prompted by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), aims to protect Mussoorie’s fragile ecosystem and manage the increasing influx of tourists and associated environmental challenges.

Uttarakhand CM Dhami stated that this registration system prioritizes the safety and convenience of all tourists, with comprehensive arrangements in place. The system is designed to monitor tourist numbers, manage traffic, and preserve the natural beauty of the region.

Mussoorie, a popular hill station, has experienced overcrowding, leading to traffic congestion and strain on local infrastructure. The digital registration system, similar to the Chardham Yatra, will help the administration control the number of visitors. Before visiting, all travelers must register through the official website, providing details like name, contact information, travel dates, and vehicle registration (if applicable). Upon successful registration, a QR code will be generated for verification at checkpoints and hotels.

This process offers several benefits: real-time assessment of tourist numbers, improved traffic and parking management, environmental protection, and better city planning. While some hoteliers have raised concerns, officials believe this step is crucial for Mussoorie’s sustainable development. Visitors are urged to register online before their trip to ensure a smooth experience and contribute to preserving the ‘Queen of Hills’.

A three-day passport service mobile van camp commenced in Lakhisarai, Bihar, on Tuesday. Organized by the Regional Passport Office, Patna, the camp will run from July 1st to July 3rd, 2025. The inauguration of the camp was attended by Swadha Rizvi, Regional Passport Officer, Patna, and Mithilesh Mishra, District Magistrate of Lakhisarai.

This initiative by the Regional Passport Office aims to provide passport-related services to applicants in their local areas, addressing the increasing number of applicants at Post Office Passport Seva Kendras and the absence of such a center in the Lakhisarai district.

Notably, the Indian government has been issuing chip-embedded passports since May 12, 2025, which store all applicant information. This Lakhisarai camp marks the tenth such camp since April 2024, following events in Siwan, Gopalganj, Purnia, and the police district of Bagaha.

Applications for both new and re-issue passports are being accepted at the camp. Fifty-five appointment slots are released daily for this camp. Online registration and further information are available at www.passportindia.gov.in. Applicants must fill out the online application, pay the prescribed fee, and obtain an appointment for the passport service mobile camp. They are required to be present on the designated day and time at the specified location with original documents, photocopies, photographs, fingerprints, and for verification of applications and original certificates.

It is important to note that applications for PCC, those held due to any reason or for certificates, and applications without prior online appointments will not be accepted at this camp. Applicants can visit the aforementioned website for information on required documents.

The Regional Passport Office, Patna, is committed to continuing this service. The Regional Passport Office, Patna, with the support of Bihar Police, received an award for the best-performing police based on passport application verification data for the year 2024-25.
