  • Disorder remains the order in Lok Sabha over farm laws; proceedings adjourned thrice

    By Express News Service
NEW DELHI: In contrast to the Rajya Sabha taking up discussions on the motion of thanks to the address of President Ram Nath Kovind to the joint sitting of the Parliament, ruckus ruled Lok Sabha. The Opposition kept pressing for repealing of the contentious farm laws.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla failed to convince Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhary to allow the House to take up the discussion on the motion of thanks.

Birla continued to discuss ways to break the deadlock with the Opposition till late in the evening. The Opposition, particularly Congress, insisted on separate discussion on farm stir against the government wanting to club it with the motion of thanks. Opposition members crowded the well of the House, holding placards calling for scrapping of the “black laws”.

A few of them surrounded the Chair to gain camera footage. Incidentally, discussion of the motion of thanks in Rajya Sabha saw members from the treasury and Opposition benches arguing strongly in favour and against the farm laws.

While Lok Sabha was adjourned within a few minutes of resumption each hour after 4 pm, presiding officer Meenakshi Lekhi pressed ahead with the Zero Hour at 8.30 pm, asking members to raise important matters of their constituencies. Mostly the BJP members took part in the Zero Hour during which the Opposition kept shouting slogans.

“Members had asked, as is procedure for the Bills to be referred to a select committee, but the government never did that. Political administration is the purview of the PM and home minister. This government has failed on many counts including handling the Covid-19 crisis and economy,” he said. Alleging that democracy was being suppressed, Congress MP Digvijaya Singh said: “We respect the mandate you have but the way in which dissent, which is the backbone of a democracy, is suppressed in our country is deplorable. The foisting of cases against farmers, journalists, activists and such need to stop.”

  • NHAI will use customised software for tracking staff

    By Express News Service
NEW DELHI:  Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will use specific software to keep track of files to monitor officials who cause delays in disposing them off.

“Red tape will no longer be tolerated… Delayed decision-making results in losses. To eradicate red-tape, we will be bringing a software that will specifically detect how much time one particular official has taken in disposing of any file,” he said.

Gadkari had warned officials that it was time to show the exit door to non-performing assets complicating and delaying projects by creating obstacles.

According to Gadkari, the use of the software is a part of measures to boost the operational efficiency and transparency of the NHAI. In June last year, the NHAI had become the first construction sector organisation to go fully digital with cloud-based Data Lake Software.

Noting that he held several meetings with NHAI chairman SS Sandhu and Highways secretary Giridhar Aramane, Gadkari said many proposals have been made to increase the efficiency of the NHAI. “Work should happen timely, corruption-free, in a time-bound manner and efficiently.

Those who do not take timely decisions will be tracked,” Gadkari said. He admitted there have been many obstacles in enforcing reforms but said the ministry is overcoming them quickly. “I take pride that work worth `17 lakh crore was done by Ministries during the NDA-1 regime without any corruption.”

  • Nitin Gadkari said – Government ready to accept all good suggestions on agricultural laws

Noting that the government is ready to accept all good suggestions from farmers about the farm laws, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday said it will “convince farmers, explain and find a way through dialogue”.

In an interview with ANI, he said dialogue is the only way to find a solution to protest by farmer unions and a break in talks can lead to miscommunication.
The minster, who is Minister of Road Transport and Highways and a senior BJP leader, said there will no injustice with the farmers in the Narendra Modi government.

“The government is ready to accept all good suggestions (from farmers). It will take some time. Our government will convince the farmers, explain and find a way through dialogue,” he said.

“If there is no dialogue, it can lead to miscommunication, to controversy and sparring. If there is a dialogue then issues will be resolved, the whole thing will end, farmers will get justice, they will get relief. We are working in the interest of farmers,” Gadkari said.

  • Editorial: – Sushma Swaraj did the block on Twitter.

Trolling case: Nitin Gadkari said – Sushma Swaraj has no relation with passport dispute, Troll is wrong.
Before that, Home Minister Rajnath Singh has also said that it is not appropriate to troll Sushma ji.
I am unable to understand why the dispute between the ministers of Modi Government and the fans of the Modi Government is going on in connection with the passport dispute. We are biased towards democracy and press freedom. On the contrary, the family members and their leaders behave against it.
Sushma ji also made a poll on this troll topic. Trolling more than 50 percent in it is inappropriate and less than 50 percent of the people are rightly told.
Encouraged by this, the responses from the government side seem like the views of the family members.
When a young Indian child from Modi ji in London asked, what is the secret of his good health? Then PM Modi called criticism the secret of his fitness. He said, ‘I eat 1-2 kg of rituals every day for almost 20 years.’
On the contrary, their ministers are hurt by hearing their criticisms of their own ideologies, and critics of their government, whether they are Mehbooba Mufti or journalist Swati Chaturvedi, or any leader of the Congress, gets stunned by their praise. It is reasonable to say so far.
PDP President Mehbooba wrote: If the Foreign Minister could not even escape from the troll, what other people in the country should be expected?
Commenting on Mehbooba’s tweet, journalist Swati Chaturvedi wrote: Deer Nirmala Sitharaman, Maneka Gandhi, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari, when your former colleague Sushma Swaraj can condemn a fierce attack, why are you silent? He further wrote that I did not name Irani in this because they have their own troll army.
Following the tweet of Swati Chaturvedi, there was a comment from Gadkari and Rajnath Singh. Nirmala Sitharaman and Maneka Gandhi have also received comments.
Is the woman’s insult to women troll? Is Swati Chaturvedi’s remarks regarding Smriti Irani not insulting women?
Sushil (former Youth Congress leader), who is serving the sentence in the Tandoori Kand, has been out of jail today. While forgetting this, the Congress has also been enjoying the passport dispute.
Passport Officer Vikas Mishra was then transferred and sentenced. But what punishment was given to an officer who was imprisoned by Mohammad Anas Siddiqui and Tanvi Sethani in an imprisonment?
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj blocked blogger Sonam Mahajan for his criticism of Twitter. Indeed, Sushma Swaraj has been constantly running trolling for a few days, for issuing a passport to a Hindu-Muslim couple.
Sushma, who is fighting alone against Trolls, blocked Sonam Mahajan on Twitter for criticizing her. Sonam Mahajan had asked Sushma on Twitter to question him.
Sonam tweeted, “They came to give good governance. These lo brothers, good days have come. Sushma Swaraj, I was your fan and fought against those who spoke against you. Now you can also reward me by blocking me too. Will wait. “
