  • Ambedkar Hospital on ventilator: Wheel of wheelchair is missing in some places and there is no footrest in some, patients who have recovered are getting injured by falling, responsible officials are silent.

Satyapal Rajput, Raipur. Ambedkar (Mekahara) Hospital of the capital is considered to be the biggest hospital of the state but the patients and their families are troubled by the poor system here. When Lalluram.org’s team investigated the system of Mehahara today, a surprising incident came to light. The wheelchair here has become so bad that recovered patients keep getting injured by falling from the wheelchair. The responsible officers are not paying any attention towards this.

The wheelchair itself is on the ventilator in Mekahara. Patients are getting injured by falling from wheelchairs. Here seriously injured patients can die at any time. Accident patients and surgery patients are at greater risk from faulty wheelchairs. Those who recovered after falling from the wheelchair are becoming patients again. Some wheelchairs have missing wheels and some have no legs at all. The footrest of the wheelchair has been made by tying rope and bandage. At some places, the relatives of the patients are forced to carry the patients in two wheelers.

Dozens of ward boys have been deployed in the hospital, but all were missing. Regarding this matter, Hospital Superintendent Dr. SBS Netam said, orders have been issued for all the stations that require repairing. After all, why were the wheelchairs not repaired even after the order was issued? After finding out this, we will take action against the guilty employees. Regarding the ward boy, he said that the ward boy is less.

IMA President Dr. Rakesh Gupta said, there is a need to improve the arrangements available in Mekahara, whether it is a matter of wheelchairs or ventilators.
