  • Shri Nitin Gadkari Says India Trying to Make Chabahar Port in Iran Operational by 2019 Inaugurates Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre at Dushanbe

    Shri Nitin Gadkari, the Union   Minister for Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Road Transport & Highways and Shipping said in Dushanbe yesterday, that India is trying to make Chabahar Port in Iran operational by 2019. Shri Gadkari was addressing the Indian Community at the inauguration of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre at the Indian Embassy in Dushanbe. He said the opening up of the Chabahar Port would make the CIS countries more accessible.

     

    Shri Gadkari also spoke at length about the efforts and initiatives taken by the NDA Government in the last four years to bring qualitative change in the lives of people. He talked about the massive work being done in the infrastructure sector, with National Highways being built at an unprecedented pace of 28km/day. He said the country is growing at a very fast pace under a corruption free, transparent and committed government led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. India’s image and respect has grown across the world in the last four years and our rankings have improved globally on various parameters like ease of doing business, cleanliness etc, he added.

     

    Shri Nitin Gadkari was on a two day official visit   to Tajikistan to represent India at the high level global conference on “International Decade for Action: Water for Sustainable Development”. He held wide-ranging talks with Shri Sirodjidin Muhridin, Foreign Minister of Tajikistan during this visit, in which the two leaders underlined the need to give further impetus to the ongoing bilateral cooperation in various fields and agreed to enhance mutual cooperation in the area of sustainable water development. Shri Gadkari had also conveyed to the Tajikistan leader, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s commitment towards expanding economic cooperation between the two countries and said that New Delhi would be willing to share with Tajikistan, Indian expertise in building quality infrastructure.

     

    Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre at Dushanbe will offer classes in Hindi, Sanskrit, Yoga and various performing arts like music and dance to the Indian diaspora as well as Tajik people. The Centre has generated a lot of interest and excitement amongst the Tajik people.

  • Rainfall in northern India, including Eastern UP, will get relief from severe heat

    new Delhi. Light rain is expected in northern India including Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana. Weather forecaster SkyMate said on Friday that light rain may occur at some places in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Rajasthan, parts of Punjab, Haryana and Eastern Uttar Pradesh in the next 24 hours. According to SkyMate, moderate rainfall may occur on Konkan and Goa, Telangana, Central Maharashtra, northwest Madhya Pradesh, southeast Rajasthan, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. There is a possibility of moderate to moderate rainfall in coastal Karnataka, northern interior Karnataka, Kerala, Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Northeast India, Odisha and coastal Andhra Pradesh. SkyMate has said that Western disturbances have been made on Afghanistan and Central Pakistan.

    A cyclonic wind zone in northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Haryana remains. A trough line from this system is going to the sub-Himalayan West Bengal of Uttar Pradesh. The area of ​​cyclonic winds is in south Konkan and Goa. A trough line from Maharashtra to the Kerala coast is going on. The area of ​​a cyclonic wind is on the Bay of Bengal.

    According to SkyMate, heavy rainfall occurred in the sub-Himalayan West Bengal during the last 24 hours. Mild rains have occurred in parts of Maharashtra, South Chhattisgarh and Odisha and Telangana. Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and coastal Andhra Pradesh received moderate to moderate rainfall. Light rain occurred in Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, North Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu. Lu’s position remained at one or two places in eastern Uttar Pradesh and eastern Madhya Pradesh.

  • The 3-day NATIONAL YOGA OLYMPIAD-2018 organized by NCERT begins in New Delhi today

    A 3-day National Yoga Olympiad was inaugurated at the National Council of Educational Research and Training in CIET in New Delhi today by Mr. Eric Falt, Director and UNESCO Representative of the New Delhi Cluster Office for India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, the Maldives and Sri Lanka.

    This is the third consecutive year of National Yoga Olympiad of NCERT and this year about 500 students from 26 States and 4 RIEs are participating in the Olympiad as compared to the participation of students from 25 States/UTs last year.

    In his welcome address, Professor Hrushikesh Senapaty, Director, NCERT brought to the attention that the Olympiad creates awareness about a scientific and holistic way of living and the purpose is to create positive attitude among all human beings and promote peaceful living in the society. He quoted the Prime Minister, Shri Narender Modi, “It is our responsibility to ensure that right spirit of yoga is conveyed to everyone”. It is in this backdrop that the Olympiad is organized to create a sense of unity and understanding among children, who have travelled from different parts of the country – both from rural and urban areas.

    Professor Saroj Yadav Dean, NCERT narrating the journey of Yoga Olympiad highlighted the importance of yoga in the development of physical, mental and spiritual health. She elaborated about the objectives, target group, yogic practices included and the criteria for judging. She stressed that Yoga Olympiad is an instrument to generate awareness about yoga among children and building team spirit and confidence.

    After witnessing a mesmerizing yoga performance by young students from Government Girls school from Rewari, Haryana and Students from Girls School of Kerala, the Chief Guest, Mr. Eric Falt, thanked the NCERT for the opportunity to see such a performance.

    Two books – Joy of Theatre and Sangeet— training packages were released on the occasion.
