  • Cat Stevens to return this summer with a new album

    By Associated Press

NEW YORK: Legendary British singer-songwriter Cat Stevens will release a new album of original songs this summer that took the “Peace Train” hitmaker over a decade to make and revisits familiar themes of togetherness.

The 12-song collection is called “King of a Land” and comes out in June on George Harrison-founded Dark Horse Records. The album cover illustration shows a boy playing guitar on top of the Earth, as a cat stretches and a train puffs along a track.

The first single is the cheerful, family friendly “Take the World Apart,” with the lyrics “I’ll take the world apart/to find a place for a peaceful heart.”

“The source of musical inspiration for this song came from the 50s. The smoochy harmonies and chords have an enchanting effect on the ear. Life was simpler then: lonely hearts yearning for love,” he said in a statement to The Associated Press.

The album reunites Stevens with producer Paul Samwell-Smith, who produced three Stevens albums between 1970-72 — “Tea for the Tillerman,” “Teaser and the Firecat” and “Catch Bull at Four.”

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member Stevens, who also goes by Yusuf, the name he took when he converted to Islam, has been a respected writer since releasing his debut in 1967. He’s had a string of Top 40 hits, from “Peace Train” and “Wild World” to “Morning Has Broken.” He was just named to Glastonbury’s coveted Legends slot this summer.

  • ‘Despacito’ hitmaker Luis Fonsi releases new album ‘Ley De Gravedad’

    By PTI

MUMBAI: Global artist and multiple Latin Grammy winner Luis Fonsi has released his long awaited new album titled ‘Ley De Gravedad’.”I decided to name this album ‘Ley De Gravedad’ because, for me, it symbolizes the force of attraction in a song. It’s that union between two people called love, which in the end, is always at the core of the songs I compose. Besides, it is a song I created with my brothers Cali y El Dandee who are part of this album,” said Fonsi. The album has been released under the label of Universal Music Latino, available on all digital platforms.”‘Ley De Gravedad’ is an album that brings together many moments, different rhythms and fusions. I have always liked that search. Trying to do new things and mixing different styles, while always putting my personal stamp on what I create. That restlessness led me to make an album where very romantic songs and very rhythmic ones coexist in the same world,” continued the musician.Under the production of award-winning Andres Torres and Mauricio Rengifo, this album includes 16 tracks composed by Fonsi, Torres and Rengifo, along with other great composers.

Additionally, the album includes collaborations with international stars including Nicky Jam, Farruko, Rauw Alejandro, Myke Towers, Sebastián Yatra, Cali y El Dandee and Manuel Turizo. The already successful launch is accompanied by the premiere of the single and the sensual music video for ‘Dolce’, which was directed by creative director Carlos Perez. The video features the special participation of renowned model and Fonsi’s current wife Águeda López, making this the first time they work together.”‘Dolce’ is a super sexy, fun and upbeat song. We needed that chemistry that only my wife can give me. Carlos, the director of the video, had already proposed some time ago to have Águeda to be the model, but I was waiting for the right video. “Dolce” is definitely the perfect video and song to work with her,” said Fonsi.

  • Miranda Lambert announces new album ‘Palomino’

    By ANI

WASHINGTON: Singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert is soon going to treat her fans with new music. The country music star recently announced her new album titled ‘Palomino’. The singer’s upcoming album is set to release on April 29 this year. Lambert took to her Instagram account to share the update with her fans and followers.

She wrote, “New Album ‘Palomino’ out April 29. This record takes you on a journey through songs. I hope y’all are ready to travel with us wandering spirits and meet some cool characters with great stories. “Strange” is out now. Listen & preorder / presave / preadd at the link in my bio.”

The 38-year-old singer paired the announcement with the release of the new track ‘Strange’, as well as an accompanying video. Talking about the new song ‘Strange’, she told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 that it was written with Hemby and Dick at her farm in 2020, reported People magazine.

“We were talking about all the strangeness going on in the world at the time,” she said. She added, “So we kind of wrote it towards addressing some heavy things, but mostly we want people to take away from this song to be lighter on their feet and take a breath and play a song and do a dance and maybe fly somewhere fun, just kind of escape from a reality that isn’t too good.”

The 15-track album includes a cover of Mick Jagger’s ‘Wandering Spirit’, as well as a collaboration with the B-52s called ‘Music City Queen’. The lyrical content will explore “the world and the people in it, seeking beauty and adventure all around”. “The making of this record has been one of the most fun and creative experiences of my career,” the singer said in a statement, reported People magazine.

“Luke Dick, Natalie Hemby and I went out to my farm in Tennessee in 2020 and started writing songs. We figured while we have time, let’s go out to the country and see what happens. The first one we wrote was ‘Tourist’ and that set us on a path to create something with a bit of a theme. Since we couldn’t travel at the time, we decided to go on a journey through songs. I hope y’all are ready to travel with us wandering spirits and meet some cool characters with great stories,” she added.

The Grammy-winning singer released the collaborative album ‘The Marfa Tapes’ last year with Jon Randall and Jack Ingram, but ‘Palomino’ is her first solo album since ‘Wildcard’, which had released in 2019. Apart from a new album, the singer will be also be touring. Lambert’s The Bandwagon Tour, a co-headlining run with Little Big Town, will kick off in May.
