The Friday operation in Manigam village netted six commercial shops, five storage godowns, a tin shed, and a concrete platform.

Khanday, son of Ahmad Khanday from Nipora, faces charges under NDPS Act Sections 8/15. Probe confirmed these holdings were built on drug money, violating anti-narcotics laws. The attachment followed due process under Section 68-F.

Senior Superintendent of Police Kulgam Iftikhar Ahmed Khan highlighted this as a cornerstone of their aggressive anti-drug strategy. ‘Zero tolerance means targeting finances, networks, and enablers alike,’ Khan asserted during a press briefing.

He detailed the multi-pronged approach: property seizures, financial probes, and courtroom battles. ‘Illicit gains will be identified, seized, and destroyed. No mercy under the law,’ he added.

Community involvement is crucial, Khan stressed, calling on residents to report suspicious activities. This attachment disrupts funding for further crimes and deters potential traffickers.

As drug abuse threatens societal fabric, such actions reinforce police resolve. Kulgam district continues leading the fight, setting precedents for the valley.
