Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh district became the epicenter of a high-stakes police operation as officers dismantled a clandestine drug factory operating from a nondescript rural shed. Under ‘Operation Chakravyuh,’ the bust netted mephedrone valued at Rs 1.60 crore, along with arms and lab apparatus, unmasking a cross-state smuggling network.

The Hathunia police, following SP B. Aditya’s directives, swooped down on a deserted plot on Asawata-Kulthana road. What they found was alarming: a fully functional drug production setup concealed beneath cement sheets. A staggering 1.897 kg of illegal MD (mephedrone) was confiscated, with an estimated black market price of Rs 1.60 crore.

Equipment seized included mixers, heaters, induction stoves, and precision scales essential for synthesis. Arrests were made of local resident Murad Khan Pathan and Gujarat’s Mohammad Junaid, who admitted to on-site manufacturing activities spanning 48 hours.

Fugitives Jivan Anjana and Sharik alias Jerry escaped, prompting pursuit teams. Murad was carrying a firearm loaded with five rounds, and vehicles—a motorcycle and sedan—were seized for transport duties.

Murad’s rap sheet features serious charges under NDPS and attempt to murder. Oversight came from Addl. SP Gajendra Singh Jodha and CO Gajendra Singh Rawat, with ASI Udaiveer Singh heading the ground team comprising Manohar Singh, Suresh Kumar, Mukesh, Girish Chand, Bhagwati Lal, and driver Ganpat.

As probes deepen, police aim to dismantle the broader syndicate, highlighting Rajasthan’s aggressive stance on narcotics control.

Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport became the scene of a high-stakes drug bust on Sunday, where customs officers intercepted a massive shipment of premium hybrid marijuana valued at Rs 12.5 crore. Four travelers from a Bangkok flight were detained, exposing what officials describe as a sophisticated international trafficking network.

Intelligence inputs flagged a possible influx of narcotics from Southeast Asia, prompting intensified checks on incoming passengers. During the scrutiny, concealed packets of the potent drug were discovered in the baggage of the suspects—one from Vadodara and three Punjab natives.

Unlike common ganja, hybrid marijuana boasts superior potency and fetches premium prices, making it a favorite among smugglers despite a total ban in India. The street value of the confiscated batch stands at Rs 12.5 crore.

Interrogations reveal plans to supply the contraband to urban markets with growing appetite for such substances. Investigators are dissecting the accused’s financial trails, travel histories, and overseas connections to map out the syndicate. Forensic tests on the drugs are underway, alongside coordination with central agencies.

This latest coup follows closely on the heels of other successes at the airport: a Rs 8 crore hydroponic haul earlier this month and a 3.9 kg seizure from Bangkok. Airport authorities are ramping up surveillance and intel ops to thwart escalating aerial smuggling threats.

Mizoram’s law enforcement struck a blow to drug cartels with the seizure of methamphetamine worth Rs 24.57 lakh and the arrest of three key operatives. The raid highlights ongoing efforts…

Mizoram’s law enforcement struck a blow to drug cartels with the seizure of methamphetamine worth Rs 24.57 lakh and the arrest of three key operatives. The raid highlights ongoing efforts to stem the flow of synthetic drugs through India’s sensitive Northeast corridor.

Acting on credible intelligence, officers from the state police’s anti-narcotics unit waylaid a speeding car on a highway leading into Aizawl. Inside, they uncovered meticulously hidden packets containing high-purity meth tablets totaling over 2.4 kilograms. The bust prevented the drugs from reaching street-level peddlers.

The suspects, who hail from Mizoram and have alleged ties to cross-border traffickers, were nabbed red-handed. Interrogations have yielded vital leads on supply chains originating from the Golden Triangle region. Officials note that such consignments often masquerade as legitimate goods to evade detection.

Mizoram Police Director emphasized the operation’s role in a broader strategy involving drone surveillance and informant networks. Recent stats show a 30% uptick in meth seizures this year, reflecting intensified patrols. However, challenges persist due to rugged terrain and limited resources.

As the investigation deepens, forensic analysis of the contraband is in progress to trace its chemical signature. The state is also pushing for federal support to fortify border checkpoints. This latest action serves as a stern message to smugglers exploiting Mizoram’s geography for profit.
