Prime Minister Narendra Modi will headline the prestigious NCC PM Rally in Delhi on Wednesday, January 28, at 3:30 PM at Cariappa Parade Ground. Under the banner ‘Nation First – Youth Duty Bound,’ the event aims to ignite a sense of duty and discipline in the hearts of young Indians.

Serving as the spectacular conclusion to the NCC Republic Day Camp 2026, the rally brings together 2,406 cadets nationwide. International participation shines through with 207 delegates from 21 countries, fostering cross-border camaraderie among future leaders.

Expect a dazzling array of cultural programs orchestrated by NCC cadets alongside NSS volunteers and National Stadium representatives. These performances will vividly illustrate youth contributions to societal upliftment, ethical growth, and national development.

Reflecting on recent highlights, Defence Minister of State Sanjay Seth’s January 18 visit to the Delhi Cantt camp was met with pomp—a guard of honor and rousing band display from Gwalior’s Sindhia School cadets. Seth’s speech elevated Republic Day as a profound homage to constitutional values and independence heroes.

In a gesture of gratitude, President Droupadi Murmu met with key participants of the Republic Day festivities at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday. The meeting, held a day after the spectacular parade, celebrated the efforts of those who brought India’s cultural mosaic to life.

Among the attendees were eager students from Leh, Jharkhand, and Jammu & Kashmir, tribal representatives, tableau creators and performers, tractor operators, NSS volunteers, and disciplined NCC cadets. They recounted their journeys and the thrill of being part of the national spectacle.

A senior official from the President’s Secretariat noted that President Murmu spent the entire day interacting with these groups, including tribal guests linked to future Republic Day events, state tableau artists, and more. She praised their dedication, stating it elevated the parade’s magnificence and inclusivity.

The occasion built on the momentum of Monday’s ‘At Home’ reception, where dignitaries gathered post-parade. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, and European leaders Antonio Costa and Ursula von der Leyen graced the event, highlighting diplomatic warmth.

Rooted in tradition since India’s first Republic Day in 1950, the ‘At Home’ fosters connections among leaders. This year’s edition spotlighted India-EU relations, with invitees appreciating the Northeast-inspired designs on the cards that evoked cultural pride.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan lawns served as a perfect backdrop for felicitations and discussions on the parade’s highlights. President Murmu’s personal touch in these interactions exemplifies leadership that values every citizen’s role in nation-building, inspiring a sense of shared achievement across the country.

Amid swirling global uncertainties, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh delivered a powerful motivational speech to NCC cadets gathered for the Republic Day Camp at Delhi Cantt. He implored the youth of India to emulate the brave NCC volunteers who shone during Operation Sindoor through mock drills across the country, bolstering national awareness and solidarity with the armed forces.

Labeling NCC as India’s vital secondary defense shield, Singh recounted the triumph of Operation Sindoor. Indian troops, with remarkable valor and discipline, eliminated terrorists hiding in Pakistan and PoK – a fitting response to the barbaric Pahalgam assault. ‘We struck only those who harmed us,’ he affirmed, crediting their physical, mental, and emotional fortitude.

In vivid imagery, Singh likened today’s youth to Mahabharata’s Abhimanyu, equipped to navigate and vanquish any battlefield trap. With expectations soaring in this transformative era, he rallied them to join hands in PM Modi’s ambitious drive for Viksit Bharat by 2047, underscoring their role as bearers of the nation’s future.

Praising NCC’s transformative power, the minister contrasted the modern world’s lure of instant comforts – from food deliveries to gaming – with the discipline instilled by drills and camps. These experiences build mental toughness, disaster-ready skills, and unwavering focus, helping cadets conquer distractions and thrive in any career path.

Singh emphasized adaptability, urging preparation of Plan B and C alongside Plan A to avert despair. ‘Rain today means sunshine tomorrow,’ he quipped, advocating a strategic, soldierly approach to life’s hurdles. NCC alumni, including war heroes like Captains Pandey and Batra, PM Modi, and countless leaders across sectors, exemplify its impact – from 1965-71 wars to today’s achievements.

As Republic Day approaches, Singh reflected on the Constitution as a living guide for societal duties and rights, calling NCC cadets to champion its ideals. The ceremony culminated in awards: medals to Arpunn Deep Kaur and Paldon Lepcha; certificates to Leisha Dejappa Suvarna, Pawan Bhaghel, Radha Dorji, and Prince Singh Rana.

A crisp Guard of Honour, dazzling band from Scindia School Gwalior, insightful flag displays on awareness campaigns, and vibrant cultural shows rounded off the event, attended by Lt Gen Virendra Vats and dignitaries.

In a heartfelt address at the NCC Republic Day Camp 2026 in New Delhi, Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi connected deeply with the cadets, reminiscing about his own NCC journey. ‘These young faces embody India’s soul and the vision of a united, superior Bharat,’ he declared.

Upon arrival, cadets presented a formal Guard of Honour, showcasing their discipline. The Admiral showered praise on their sharp appearance, flawless drills, impressive band routines, and vibrant cultural presentations, capping it with the spirited naval cheer ‘Bravo Zulu’.

Tripathi felicitated the selected cadets and emphasized NCC’s transformative impact on youth, fostering patriotism and civic duty. He spotlighted the heroic involvement of 72,000 cadets in Operation Sindoor’s civil defense and applauded cutting-edge modules on drones and cybersecurity.

Referencing PM Modi’s vision of youth as global change-makers, the Chief envisioned their leadership in Viksit Bharat by 2047.
New Delhi buzzed with pride as Air Chief Marshal AP Singh lauded NCC cadets for their stellar performance in Operation Sindoor. The top IAF officer described their involvement as ‘truly commendable,’ underscoring the vital role played by these student volunteers in a major defense maneuver.

Launched to sharpen operational readiness, Operation Sindoor unfolded across strategic locations, simulating high-stakes scenarios. NCC cadets, drawn from over 20 states, integrated seamlessly into the exercise. They manned forward posts, assisted in reconnaissance, and ensured smooth supply chains—tasks that demanded quick thinking and resilience.

‘The way they embraced responsibility reflects the NCC’s core values of character, comradeship, and commitment,’ Singh remarked during his address. Stories emerged of cadets navigating rough terrains at night, coordinating with drone units, and even improvising solutions during mock emergencies.

This isn’t the first time NCC has stepped up, but Operation Sindoor marked a milestone in scale and impact. The IAF chief revealed that cadet feedback helped refine certain protocols, showcasing their innovative mindset. ‘They weren’t just helping; they were contributing ideas that matter,’ he noted.

The accolade has sparked nationwide discussions on youth empowerment in defense. NCC Director General confirmed plans to replicate this model in future exercises, potentially involving tech-savvy cadets in cyber defense simulations. Educational institutions are now promoting NCC as a gateway to officer training academies.

Beyond the battlefield, the operation highlighted soft skills like teamwork and leadership honed through NCC drills. Parents and educators praise how it instills discipline without compromising academics.

As tensions in the region persist, such endorsements reinforce India’s holistic defense strategy. Air Chief Marshal Singh wrapped up by saying, ‘Operation Sindoor proved that our youth are ready to defend the nation at any call.’ Their story inspires a generation poised to safeguard India’s skies and sovereignty.

A remarkable display of national unity unfolded at Sainik School Tilaiya, Koderma, as 601 NCC cadets from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand participated in the ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat-1/25’ national camp. Organized under the Bihar and Jharkhand NCC Directorate, the 12-day event, guided by Group Commander Brigadier S. Gopi Krishnan (SM) of the Hazaribagh Group and led by Commanding Officer Colonel Vijay Kumar (SM) of the 45 Jharkhand Battalion NCC Koderma, entered its sixth day with robust physical training sessions. Cadets enthusiastically engaged in a variety of competitions, cultural activities, and workshops throughout the day, fostering camaraderie and mutual understanding.

The camp also featured insightful sessions by the EXPA Group (NCC Exchange Participant Association of India) from Bengaluru. Team leader Anish Rahul, along with fellow members, delivered lectures on crucial topics such as self-confidence, public speaking, self-analysis, and leadership skills. EXPA Group aims to provide a platform for NCC cadets, cultivate responsible citizens, and promote international understanding. Rahul emphasized that these valuable training programs are offered completely free of charge to NCC cadets, focusing on critical thinking and fostering a global perspective.

Under the guidance of Cultural Coordinators Second Officer Abhijit Anand and Third Officer Naveen Choudhary, NCC officers and girl cadet instructors from various states are meticulously preparing cultural presentations. These performances, showcasing traditional attire and arts, are strengthening the spirit of national integration and collaboration.

Maintaining health and discipline within the camp is Subedar Major Arvind Kumar of the 45 Jharkhand Battalion. Significant contributions to the training and administrative arrangements were made by Lieutenant Santosh Kumar (Camp Nodal Officer), along with Subedars Balwinder Singh, A.N. Thakur, Chandrahass, Champa Murmur, Ravindra Hebram, Jatroo Tirkey, and Naib Subedar Ghasitaram (SM), as well as all permanent instructors of the 45 Jharkhand Battalion, Head Assistant Rajesh Kumar, and other staff. This camp is not only preparing NCC cadets for nation-building but also powerfully embodying the ethos of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’.
