Expect a dazzling array of cultural programs orchestrated by NCC cadets alongside NSS volunteers and National Stadium representatives. These performances will vividly illustrate youth contributions to societal upliftment, ethical growth, and national development.

Reflecting on recent highlights, Defence Minister of State Sanjay Seth’s January 18 visit to the Delhi Cantt camp was met with pomp—a guard of honor and rousing band display from Gwalior’s Sindhia School cadets. Seth’s speech elevated Republic Day as a profound homage to constitutional values and independence heroes.

He portrayed NCC as the living link connecting historical valor to tomorrow’s triumphs, with the camp exemplifying unwavering discipline and leadership potential. Advocating self-reliance, Seth spotlighted the explosive growth of startups—from mere 800 to exceeding 200,000—thanks to visionary programs like Startup India.

Special applause went to 15 cadets who cycled 1,300 kilometers from Ranchi to Delhi in the Veer Birsa Munda Cyclothon, promoting unity and tribal legacy. Seth also celebrated 10 cadets gearing up for an Everest ascent in 2025, symbolizing boundless Indian spirit.

As Modi takes the stage, the rally stands poised to galvanize a generation towards selfless service and national excellence.

Among the attendees were eager students from Leh, Jharkhand, and Jammu & Kashmir, tribal representatives, tableau creators and performers, tractor operators, NSS volunteers, and disciplined NCC cadets. They recounted their journeys and the thrill of being part of the national spectacle.

The beach setting amplifies the thrill, allowing cadets to push boundaries and overcome inhibitions. Group Commander Brigadier P. Shashi told reporters that paragliding stands out as the highlight, empowering cadets to spread their wings and build unshakeable confidence through NCC.

Cadet Rachna Jodha described the jeep paragliding as a standout adventure sport, enhanced by guidance from ex-military officers. Fellow cadet Jessica Dhanani was thrilled by drone handling lessons, linking it to contemporary military uses and national efforts to tech-up the youth.

Instructor and retired Captain A.S. Sokin detailed the comprehensive safety measures, including briefings and inspections, before every flight. He appealed to young people to trade virtual worlds for physical challenges that cultivate courage and innovation.

Upon arrival, cadets presented a formal Guard of Honour, showcasing their discipline. The Admiral showered praise on their sharp appearance, flawless drills, impressive band routines, and vibrant cultural presentations, capping it with the spirited naval cheer ‘Bravo Zulu’.

Tripathi felicitated the selected cadets and emphasized NCC’s transformative impact on youth, fostering patriotism and civic duty. He spotlighted the heroic involvement of 72,000 cadets in Operation Sindoor’s civil defense and applauded cutting-edge modules on drones and cybersecurity.

Referencing PM Modi’s vision of youth as global change-makers, the Chief envisioned their leadership in Viksit Bharat by 2047. NCC, he said, is adapting swiftly – merging classic training with tech-savvy skills in drones, cyber systems, and digital tools, equipping cadets for tomorrow’s challenges.

The IAF chief revealed that cadet feedback helped refine certain protocols, showcasing their innovative mindset. ‘They weren’t just helping; they were contributing ideas that matter,’ he noted.

NCC Director General confirmed plans to replicate this model in future exercises, potentially involving tech-savvy cadets in cyber defense simulations. Educational institutions are now promoting NCC as a gateway to officer training academies.

Air Chief Marshal Singh wrapped up by saying, ‘Operation Sindoor proved that our youth are ready to defend the nation at any call.’ Their story inspires a generation poised to safeguard India’s skies and sovereignty.

The highlight of the day was an inspiring motivational speech by Colonel Sanjay Kandwal (Sena Medal) of the 36 Jharkhand Battalion, Dhanbad. Titled ‘Nation First, Self Later,’ Colonel Kandwal shared detailed accounts of the terror attacks on the Taj Hotel, Oberoi Hotel, and Nariman House. He vividly described how National Security Guards bravely rescued hostages amidst extreme challenges and neutralized the terrorists. Colonel Kandwal, who was part of the counter-terrorism operations during the 26/11 attacks, was honored with the Sena Medal by the President of India for his exceptional courage and dedication. His presentation on the ‘Black Tornado’ operation, detailing the valor of martyrs at the Taj Hotel and the operational hurdles, left the NCC cadets deeply inspired and proud.

Commanding Officer Vijay Kumar (Sena Medal) presented Colonel Sanjay Kandwal with a memento, expressing gratitude for his insightful account of the 26/11 operation. The camp also featured a National Integration Awareness Program competition organized by Second Officer Abhijit Anand, Third Officer Naveen Choudhary, and NCC Officer Lieutenant Alice Minz. Furthermore, the finals of the inter-group volleyball and Kho-Kho competitions took place. Preparations are underway for cultural events including group dances, songs, solo performances, poster making, and Rangoli competitions, coordinated by Abhijit Anand, Girls Cadet Instructor Shivani Sharma, and instructors from various participating states, alongside nine NCC officers.

The camp also featured insightful sessions by the EXPA Group (NCC Exchange Participant Association of India) from Bengaluru. Team leader Anish Rahul, along with fellow members, delivered lectures on crucial topics such as self-confidence, public speaking, self-analysis, and leadership skills. EXPA Group aims to provide a platform for NCC cadets, cultivate responsible citizens, and promote international understanding. Rahul emphasized that these valuable training programs are offered completely free of charge to NCC cadets, focusing on critical thinking and fostering a global perspective.

Under the guidance of Cultural Coordinators Second Officer Abhijit Anand and Third Officer Naveen Choudhary, NCC officers and girl cadet instructors from various states are meticulously preparing cultural presentations. These performances, showcasing traditional attire and arts, are strengthening the spirit of national integration and collaboration.

Maintaining health and discipline within the camp is Subedar Major Arvind Kumar of the 45 Jharkhand Battalion. Significant contributions to the training and administrative arrangements were made by Lieutenant Santosh Kumar (Camp Nodal Officer), along with Subedars Balwinder Singh, A.N. Thakur, Chandrahass, Champa Murmur, Ravindra Hebram, Jatroo Tirkey, and Naib Subedar Ghasitaram (SM), as well as all permanent instructors of the 45 Jharkhand Battalion, Head Assistant Rajesh Kumar, and other staff.
