In Bengaluru, BJP leader CT Ravi launched a blistering critique of Congress, claiming their foreign policy decisions were tailored for electoral benefits instead of serving the nation. This stark contrast with BJP’s nation-first approach defines the ideological chasm between the parties, he said during a media briefing Tuesday.

Emphasizing BJP’s commitment, Ravi stated, “Our foreign policy is built to advance India’s interests, never for political mileage. We think of the country first, always have and always will.”

Addressing reactions to Khamenei’s death, Ravi expressed bewilderment at the public displays of sorrow in India. “Why are people mourning Khamenei here? What relevance does he hold for us? These mourners were silent when terrorists slaughtered innocents in Pahalgam. Some openly favored Sharia law over our Constitution—how can they be Indians?”

Responding to Sonia Gandhi’s call for Parliament to discuss Iran, Ravi invited open dialogue. “We’re open to debate, but Congress mustn’t evade it. Unlike them, BJP doesn’t exploit national matters for votes. Our loyalty lies solely with the nation’s good.”

On India-Israel relations, Ravi questioned Congress’s stance. “Strong bonds with Israel benefit India—why object? Congress politicizes international issues unacceptably. Israel is a true ally; their opposition makes no sense.”

Ravi’s pointed remarks reignite debates on how political rivalries influence India’s global positioning, urging a focus on strategic partnerships over domestic squabbles.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has urged the youth, particularly in Assam and the Northeast, to observe the organization closely and form their opinions about it free from prejudice and external narratives. Speaking at a youth leadership conference in Guwahati, Bhagwat emphasized India’s inherent tradition of respecting diverse paths, stating that while one’s own way might be correct, others’ ways can also be valid within their specific contexts. He illustrated this by referencing communities in Pakistan who, after separation from India, have allegedly lost their linguistic diversity. Bhagwat asserted that Hindu society is the one that truly cherishes diversity, and building such a society is a core RSS objective. He further stated that societal transformation hinges on a united and capable Bharatiya society. Addressing societal issues, Bhagwat argued that corruption eradication requires character building beyond just legal measures. Similarly, he highlighted that effective cow protection necessitates societal awareness alongside legal frameworks. On foreign policy, Bhagwat strongly advocated for an ‘India First’ approach, urging the nation to prioritize its interests without favoring or opposing any specific country, much like major global powers such as the US and China. He concluded by suggesting that a strong, self-reliant India naturally contributes to global welfare and is better equipped to navigate international challenges and foster global harmony.

Doctors are expected to receive exemptions from the Trump administration’s recently imposed $100,000 fee for H-1B visa applications, according to a White House statement. The proclamation suggests that the fee increase might not affect all applicants. The Secretary of Homeland Security can grant exemptions if hiring these workers serves the national interest. This development follows concerns raised by medical organizations regarding the fee’s impact on rural areas facing healthcare provider shortages. The proclamation states that the restriction will not apply if the Secretary of Homeland Security determines that hiring the aliens is in the national interest and does not threaten the security or welfare of the United States. Reports suggest that this may include physicians and medical residents.

A significant controversy has erupted surrounding the India-Pakistan match scheduled for September 14, 2025, during the Asia Cup. A social activist from Pune, Ketan Tirodkar, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a ban on the match.
Former US President Donald Trump declared a 25% tariff on India, effective August 1, 2025, along with an unspecified penalty. In response, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) stated it is evaluating the implications and will take all necessary actions to safeguard national interests. The MoCI also highlighted ongoing negotiations for a bilateral trade agreement and emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting the welfare of Indian farmers, entrepreneurs, and MSMEs.
