In a rousing address at the CII State Annual Session in Ahmedabad, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel painted a vivid picture of the state’s economic ascent to a one trillion dollar powerhouse by 2030. The event, themed around ‘Gujarat: A $1 Trillion Economy,’ saw industry leaders and policymakers unite under one roof.

‘We’re marching ahead on the growth trajectory envisioned by PM Narendra Modi,’ Patel proclaimed. He pledged full governmental backing to industries, ensuring seamless collaboration for this ambitious target.

Gujarat’s journey from localized industrial hubs to statewide prosperity is inspiring. Investments in critical infrastructure have democratized development, making the state a beacon of progress.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit since 2003 has magnetized international capital, cementing Gujarat’s status as an investor’s paradise. Breakthroughs like Micron’s semiconductor ventures exemplify the trust in India’s manufacturing renaissance, led by Gujarat.

Key stats tell the success story: 5% population yields 8% GDP contribution, targeting 10%+. Manufacturing at 17%, exports 33%, cargo handling 40%. Dominance in chemicals (33%), pharma exports (19.2%), diamonds (80%). MSMEs surged from 1.85 lakh to 27.9 lakh.

As a policy-led powerhouse, Gujarat ensures transparency and agility. With a roadmap for Viksit Bharat@2047 already in motion, the state is poised not just to hit $1 trillion but to redefine economic leadership in India.

Uttar Pradesh under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is rapidly evolving into India’s startup and AI hub, thanks to proactive policies on skilling and entrepreneurship. The startup policy, coupled with the AI Pragya initiative, is meticulously crafting a future-ready economy.

Aiming to skill 10 lakh young people in AI and digital realms, the government is unlocking unprecedented job and business opportunities. This momentum is palpable in key hubs—Kanpur, Lucknow, Noida, and Varanasi—where startups are proliferating, revitalizing MSMEs and igniting youth-led ventures.

Supporting this growth, STPI’s 400 active units form the backbone of the tech ecosystem, while over 100 incubators are in the pipeline to nurture ideas into enterprises. Collaborations with tech behemoths Microsoft and Google ensure world-class training in modern digital competencies.

The province’s dominance in electronics manufacturing, holding 65% of national mobile production, is a game-changer. It energizes startups and MSMEs via expansive supply chains, generating jobs and bolstering local economies.

Enhancing future-proofing, AI labs are being established in 49 ITIs for practical education in AI, analytics, and digital tech, bridging the gap between academia and industry needs.

Exports from the IT-ITeS sector have crossed Rs 44,000 crore, underscoring UP’s emergence as a global tech contender with boundless potential ahead.

In a bold outline for India’s journey to becoming a developed nation by 2047, a KPMG report identifies ten pivotal areas requiring immediate action, prominently featuring workforce skilling, manufacturing upgrades, and MSME empowerment.

At the core is forging a future-ready workforce through continuous education-to-employment pipelines, scaled apprenticeships, and advanced tech training tailored for manufacturing, services, and cutting-edge fields.

Manufacturing’s global edge hinges on component localization, Industry 4.0 integration, productivity leaps in factories, and cluster alignments with exports and quality benchmarks.

MSMEs must evolve beyond sustenance via cash-flow lending, collaborative productivity drives, digitization, and export programs linking them to vital supply chains, fostering expansion.

Trade enhancement demands integrated infrastructure and diversified exports. The report advocates multi-modal corridors, improved connectivity, corridor-based export ecosystems, strategic FTAs/CEPAs, and supply chain resilience.

Urban transformation calls for public transport-centric development, robust municipal funding, affordable housing scale-up, and holistic planning for secondary cities to drive national progress.

For equitable growth, extend social protections to informal sectors, modernize care facilities, and elevate women’s workforce involvement.

Public finance overhaul involves private investment influx, revenue fortification across governance tiers, and result-oriented budgeting with digital oversight.

‘With a solid base in place, execution is key—transforming capital into productivity for true competitiveness,’ stated KPMG India CEO Yezdi Nagporia. ‘Deep manufacturing prowess, talented workforce, strong MSMEs, smart infrastructure, and prepared cities will shape India’s rise.’

This detailed strategy positions India for sustainable, high-impact development by 2047.

Under CM Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is not just participating in national schemes—it’s dominating them. The state clinches the number one spot across vital programs like PM Awas Yojana, Atal…

Under CM Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is not just participating in national schemes—it’s dominating them. The state clinches the number one spot across vital programs like PM Awas Yojana, Atal Pension, and Swachh Bharat, proving efficient governance can deliver real change.

Housing for all has become reality with 62 lakh pucca homes delivered, lifting families out of poverty. Atal Pension registrations soar, expanding social security nets for millions.

The MSME boom, with 96 lakh-plus units, has sparked employment revolutions, aligning with vocal-for-local initiatives. UP’s top Ease of Doing Business status attracts investors like never before.

Farmers thrive as the nation’s top producer in key crops and dairy. DBT subsidies, first implemented here, ensure every rupee reaches the field directly.

Connectivity leaps forward: operational expressways and airports, plus Noida’s upcoming international hub, are reshaping the economic landscape.

Swachh Bharat’s rural toilet drive and Ujjwala’s gas connections top charts, bringing dignity and safety to villages. Digital prowess via GeM and NPS shows transparent procurement at scale.

Leading NEP 2020 rollout and skill development, UP equips youth for future jobs. Ethanol supply dominance caps a multi-faceted success.

Uttar Pradesh’s ascent signals a governance model where schemes don’t stall on paper—they transform lives, positioning the state as India’s development vanguard.

India’s economic growth story hinges on strategic interventions, and as the Union Budget 2026-27 approaches, stakeholders are outlining bold recommendations. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, CEO of Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, shared his insights with IANS, urging a sharp focus on accelerating technology uptake in MSMEs, especially those in Tier-2 and Tier-3 urban centers.

These enterprises already pump $1.5 trillion into the national economy with a solid 10 percent growth trajectory. By infusing cutting-edge tech, Gupta predicts a leap to 18 percent growth. ‘We need a robust policy to make this happen, and we’re hopeful the budget will deliver it,’ he stated.

Gupta’s vision extends to creating Digital Economy Zones across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, potentially birthing 100 new growth hubs that could transform regional economies.

Addressing the startup ecosystem, he noted around 100,000 startups in these areas and proposed a national scheme to multiply them fivefold to 500,000. This, he argued, would spark a job creation revolution.

Scheduled for February 1 at 11 AM by the Finance Minister, this budget breaks tradition as the first Sunday presentation post-2000, echoing rare weekend budgets like 2025 and 2015.

Kazakhstan’s MSME sector is witnessing an unprecedented surge led by women. From the bustling streets of Astana to remote villages, female business owners are claiming the helm, propelling small enterprises into engines of growth.

Statistics paint a compelling picture: Female-led MSMEs account for 48% of the total, contributing significantly to GDP. This leap is no accident. Strategic policies, including subsidized credit lines and skill-development centers, have empowered thousands of women to start and scale their ventures.

Consider the story of Saltanat, who runs a tech startup in Shymkent specializing in agritech solutions. Starting with a modest grant, her company now serves 500 farmers, boosting crop yields by 25%. Such innovations highlight how women are blending tradition with modernity.

The government’s Damu Fund has been pivotal, disbursing over $500 million in targeted funding last year alone. Add to that vocational programs focusing on digital marketing and financial literacy, and you’ve got a recipe for empowerment.

Yet, it’s not without obstacles. Supply chain disruptions and gender biases in venture capital linger. Still, women are breaking barriers—export revenues from their firms hit record highs, signaling global competitiveness.

Experts forecast that by 2030, women could lead 60% of MSMEs, further diversifying Kazakhstan’s oil-dependent economy. This female-led boom underscores a broader narrative: When women thrive in business, entire nations prosper.

Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal set the tone for India’s future at the MSME Conclave in Gujarat, proclaiming the state as the ‘growth engine’ for Viksit Bharat 2047. His speech painted a roadmap where MSMEs play the starring role in national progress.

Gujarat’s strategic advantages shone through Goyal’s narrative: extensive coastline for exports, plug-and-play industrial parks, and a proactive governance model. ‘This is where India’s dreams of becoming a developed economy will take flight,’ Goyal asserted to an enthusiastic audience of entrepreneurs and officials.

Key announcements included enhanced funding for MSME clusters, simplified compliance regimes, and integration with global value chains. Goyal spotlighted success stories of Gujarat’s SMEs scaling up in EVs, renewables, and pharma, crediting schemes like PLI and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

He called for a mindset shift—embracing AI, sustainability, and internationalization. Challenges like raw material costs and regulatory hurdles were acknowledged, with promises of swift resolutions. The conclave featured panel discussions on emerging trends, fostering collaborations.

Wrapping up, Goyal envisioned Gujarat contributing 20% to India’s manufacturing GDP. This isn’t mere rhetoric; it’s backed by data—Gujarat’s GSDP growth outpaces the national average consistently. For MSMEs, the message is clear: partner with this engine to accelerate India’s journey to 2047.
