The first consignment of Corona vaccine has arrived in Narayanpur district today. The vaccine received as the first consignment has been kept in the storage center at District Hospital. The Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. AR Gota said that 1680 doses of ‘Kovishield’ made by the Serum Institute of India have been received by the district, the remaining dose will be provided by the State Office. 2304 health workers in the district will be given a ‘Kovishield’ vaccine dose. Vaccination work will be done in the district through 9 cold point chains. Preparations have been made to vaccinate people in all these centers. Initially, the first dose of ‘Kovishield’ vaccine will be applied in the Kovid Vaccination Center at District Hospital. It is noteworthy that this vaccination is being done to prevent corona infection and to break its link. Health workers frequently come in contact with patients, which increases the likelihood of infection in its community. To break this link, this vaccine is being given to the health workers first. Vaccination of security personnel and cleaning personnel such as frontliners will also be done. Adequate arrangements have been made for transportation and storage of these vaccines as per the protocol set by the Health Department. Mockdrills for vaccination in the centers and rehearsal to deal with emergencies have also been done. Separate arrangements have been made to send the vaccine from the main storage center to the vaccination center. The management system has been strengthened from the state level to the vaccination sites for the management of any kind of adverse event or emergency after vaccination. All vaccination centers have been connected to the nearest AEFI management system.
