  • Russell Crowe’s  action thriller ‘Land of Bad’ adds Luke Hemsworth, Milo Ventimiglia

    LOS ANGELES: ‘Westworld’ actor Luke Hemsworth and “This Is Us” star Milo Ventimiglia will be featuring alongside Oscar winner Russell Crowe in the action thriller “Land of Bad”.

    Also joining the film’s cast are actors Ricky Whittle, Daniel MacPherson and Chika Ikogwe, as per entertainment news portal Deadline. The film is directed by Will Eubank, who also co-wrote the script with David Frigerio.

    Eubank is known for movies such as “The Signal” and Kristen Stewart-starrer “Underwater”. Also starring Liam Hemsworth, “Land of Bad” follows Reaper (Crowe), an Air Force drone pilot supporting a Delta Force special ops mission in the South Philippines.

    After the mission goes terribly wrong, Reaper has 48 hours to remedy what has devolved into a wild rescue operation.

    The Tier-One team, led by Cpt.Sugar (Ventimiglia) and Sgt. Abel (Luke Hemsworth) is redeployed to return and retrieve their captured man and the asset.

    They are joined by Kinney (Liam Hemsworth), a green Air Force JTAC officer, who is thrust into the middle of a high-stakes extraction. But the ground mission suddenly turns upside down and becomes a full-scale battle when the team is discovered by the enemy.

    With no weapons and no communication other than the drone above, Reaper becomes the young operator’s only ticket out.

    The movie will start shooting in Australia later this month. It is produced by Broken Open Pictures’ David Frigerio, Eubank, Volition Media Partners’ Adam Beasley and Michael Jefferson, R.U. Robot and Highland Film Group.

  • Milo Ventimiglia to headline con-artist drama

    This US-fame Milo Ventimiglia is all set to headline a con-artist drama series titled The Company You Keep. Based on a Korean series called My Fellow Citizens, the series hails from writer Julia Cohen.

    The official logline of the series reads: A night of passion leads to love between con-man Charlie (Ventimiglia) and undercover CIA officer Emma. Both of them are unknowingly on a collision course professionally. While Charlie ramps up the ‘family business’ so he can get out for good, Emma’s closing in on the vengeful criminal who holds Charlie’s family debts in hand — forcing them to reckon with the lies they’ve told so they can save themselves and their families from disastrous consequences.

    Cohen and Ventimiglia also executive produce the show alongside Ventimiglia’s DiVide Pictures partner Russ Cundiff. Filmmaker Jon M Chu will also executive produce the project alongside Todd Harthan, Caitlin Foitom, and Lindsay Goffman. DiVide’s Deanna Harris is producing the show.

    Ventimiglia rose to fame after his role as Jess in Gilmore Girls. He is popularly known for his role as Jack Pearson in This Is Us. He is currently set to reunite with Gilmore Girls’ creator Sherman-Palladino on the upcoming season of Amazon Prime’s The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. 

  • ‘This Is Us’ star Milo Ventimiglia to guest star on ‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ season 4

    LOS ANGELES: “This Is Us” star Milo Ventimiglia has joined the upcoming fourth season of Emmy-winning series “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”.

    According to Deadline, the details of the character Ventimiglia will be playing are being kept under wraps.

    The 1950s-set dramedy revolves around Rachel Brosnahan’s Midge, an Upper West Side housewife who ventures into stand-up comedy and her rise as her own person after her picture-perfect marriage falls apart.

    Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband, Daniel Palladino, the award-winning show also features Tony Shalhoub, Marin Hinkle, Michael Zegen, Kevin Pollak, Caroline Aaron and Jane Lynch.

    Sherman-Palladino has previously collaborated with Ventimiglia on hit series “Gilmore Girls”.

    He is the second actor from 2000 comedy-drama to join “Marvelous Mrs.

    Maisel”, after Sterling K Brown in last season.

    The ‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ has till now won 20 Emmy Awards, three Golden Globes, six Critics Choice Awards, a WGA Award, and a Peabody Award.
