Ternopil, Ukraine – A night of unprecedented aerial assault has left the western Ukrainian city of Ternopil in ruins. Overnight, Russian forces unleashed a barrage of over 470 attack drones and 48 missiles, marking one of the deadliest attacks of 2025. The relentless strikes, occurring just after midnight, targeted residential areas, resulting in at least 25 fatalities and 73 injuries, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs. Among the casualties were three children.

Emergency services faced a monumental task, with rescue operations commencing immediately and continuing throughout the morning. Specialized units, including robotic systems, were deployed to navigate the debris and search for survivors amidst collapsed buildings. The fires ignited by the strikes raged for hours, consuming nine-storey apartment complexes.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the scale of the attack, describing it as a widespread offensive across multiple Ukrainian regions. He noted the deployment of ballistic and cruise missiles launched in coordinated waves. Ternopil, he stated, bore the brunt of the destruction, with many still believed to be trapped beneath rubble. Other regions, including Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Donetsk, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, and Dnipro, also suffered significant damage to infrastructure and civilian areas.

President Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine’s urgent need for advanced air defense systems, combat aircraft, and increased drone production to mitigate future attacks. He stressed the importance of international accountability for Russia’s continued aggression, now in its fourth year. In parallel, Ukraine highlighted recent security and economic support pledges totaling over EUR 515 million from Greece, France, and Spain. These commitments include gas supply guarantees, defense equipment like Rafale F4 aircraft and SAMP/T systems, advanced radar, and substantial financial aid for air defense and energy sectors.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the relationship between Russia and the United States will completely deteriorate if the US provides Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, leading to a new and dangerous phase of conflict between the two nations. This follows a statement by US Vice President JD Vance, who mentioned considering the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, potentially enabling Ukraine to target major Russian cities such as Moscow. The Tomahawk missile has a range of approximately 2,500 kilometers, capable of reaching the entirety of Russia. However, some US officials have indicated that a significant portion of these missiles are already reserved within the US Navy and other departments, making it challenging to supply them to Ukraine. Putin, during an interview on Russian television, emphasized the severity of such a move, further stating that Russia is reinforcing its air defense systems to counter these missiles. Putin characterized the current state of relations between Russia and the West as the worst since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. He attributed the expansion of NATO as a threat to Russia’s security and an attempt to diminish Russia’s regional influence. Western countries and Ukraine view this as an act of aggression and a display of Russia’s imperialistic ambitions, while European leaders suggest that Putin may attack NATO countries if Russia is not defeated, a claim Putin has repeatedly denied.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has cautioned the United States that providing Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine for strikes deep within Russian territory would irreparably damage the relationship between the two nations.

Former US President Donald Trump previously indicated his readiness to impose significant tariffs on Russia if the conflict in Ukraine continued, stating that the war is detrimental to Russia’s image. Trump expressed his disappointment with Putin, citing the ongoing loss of life and the negative impact on Russia’s reputation.

President Donald Trump has initiated a significant shift in US foreign policy by announcing a phased reduction of security assistance to European countries situated near Russia’s border. This decision aligns with his ‘America First’ agenda. Some observers interpret this move as a response to European support for Ukraine and its President, Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump prioritizes American interests, leading to a decrease in military aid to foreign nations. He is urging European countries to assume greater responsibility for their own security. The affected countries include Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. This review of foreign aid took place at the start of his second term. An executive order signed by Trump introduces new regulations for foreign aid, further solidifying the cuts to European nations. Trump has consistently stated that Europe should take charge of its defense, yet this action has drawn criticism within the US. Senator Jeanne Shaheen, a Democrat, has labeled it a misguided decision. While Trump aims to mediate an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, peace talks have stalled due to both sides maintaining firm stances. European countries, conversely, are backing Ukraine and aiming to bolster its military capabilities. Consequently, the reduction in aid to nations near Russia is seen as an indication of Trump’s disapproval.

Despite attempts by US President Donald Trump to negotiate a ceasefire, progress remains elusive. Winter is seeing preparations for destructive warfare on both sides in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The situation…

Despite attempts by US President Donald Trump to negotiate a ceasefire, progress remains elusive. Winter is seeing preparations for destructive warfare on both sides in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The situation has escalated to the point where a nuclear conflict in Europe is a possibility, as Ukraine has targeted two nuclear power plants, Zaporizhzhia and Kursk, heightening the risk of radiation leaks. This represents a new strategy by Ukraine, which is now employing nuclear threats to deter Russia, while it should be understood that a nuclear storm could engulf the whole of Europe.

Russia is currently causing devastation in Ukraine through its ground forces, including tanks, armored vehicles, and soldiers that continue to advance. With the prospects of a ceasefire diminishing, Russia is aggressively pursuing the destruction of Ukraine. The aggressive actions of Russia have caused turmoil in Kyiv. Zelensky has appealed to NATO countries for help. NATO has developed a blueprint to halt Russia’s advance for now.

Ukraine is targeting Russia’s energy sector and blockading Crimea, in an attempt to fix Russia’s focus on Crimea and its energy sector. However, this is not enough, and the UK has provided Zelensky with a secret plan which includes attacking Russia’s nuclear facilities.

Consequently, Ukrainian drones are prepared to strike Russian nuclear power plants. Attacks occurred on several locations last night. Russia claims it intercepted Ukrainian attacks because it had already deployed defense systems. The failure of the Alaska-Washington talks signals the start of the second phase of the war. On Ukraine’s Independence Day, Russia launched intense attacks, which have since continued non-stop. Drones are being deployed from Donetsk to Bucha, but the biggest threat stems from the Zaporizhzhia and Kursk nuclear power plants, where Ukraine has launched attacks and where radioactive leaks have been reported. A Russian nuclear expert team is investigating radioactive leaks in Kursk and Zaporizhzhia.

Attacks on Ukrainian nuclear power plants have increased the risk of radioactive leaks, raising the specter of a nuclear disaster. If a major attack occurs on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the leak could occur at multiple levels. There would be a severe zone of 50 kilometers, which could result in the immediate death of those in the area, while a moderate zone of 150 km could result in serious illness due to delayed radiation exposure.

Further out, a mild zone could extend to 300 km, affecting those within it as well. The impact may last a considerable amount of time. Over 500,000 people in the three zones will be directly affected, and a similar attack has also been carried out on Kursk. The distance between Zaporizhzhia and Kursk is 521 kilometers, but the area of destruction could extend to 1,000 kilometers, potentially affecting several European countries.

If a leak occurs at the Kursk nuclear plant, the severe zone could be 30 km, leading to the immediate death of those in the area. Further out, the moderate zone could extend to 120 km, affecting those in the area, while the mild zone could reach 250 km. Radiation poses a direct threat to 300,000 people in the three zones.

The war has resumed in Kursk, with Ukrainian soldiers penetrating 50 kilometers into Kursk from the border. They control the entire area. North Korean soldiers have taken up positions to confront them. A front-line battle is underway. Enraged by this, Ukraine launched a drone strike on the Kursk nuclear plant. At the same time, an attack was launched on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, which is currently under Russian control. Production at the Kursk nuclear plant has been reduced by 50 percent, and a leak has also begun from Zaporizhzhia. The threat of nuclear disaster has now doubled.

Attacks on these two nuclear plants mean that the risk of radioactive radiation hangs over Russia and the whole of Northern and Eastern Europe. In the meantime, the United States has banned the use of its missiles on Russian territory to prevent Ukraine from launching missile attacks. Ukraine has claimed that Ukrainian weapons are now being used in all attacks on Russian soil. It has multiplied weapons production. The Kremlin is also taken aback by Ukraine’s extensive preparations. European countries are allegedly helping Ukraine, formulating strategies and sending ammunition.

Here are some of the weapons that can cause devastation in Russia, which Ukraine is planning to use. The first is the Flamingo missile, which has a range of 3,000 km. Ukraine will manufacture 1,000 Flamingos by October. The second is the R-360 Neptune missile, which has a range of 1,000 km, while the Storm Shadow has a range of 500 km, which Ukraine has used in many attacks. The range of ATACMS is 300 km. Ukraine has been using this. The range of the TB-2 drone is also 300 km. Ukraine took it from Turkey.

The war has been going on for more than three years on the 2,295-kilometer Russia-Ukraine border. As ceasefire attempts have failed, the war has intensified. The Russian army has entered several areas of Ukraine. Ukraine is following the same pattern. Kursk and Belgorod are its targets. Russia has claimed that European countries are behind the attacks on Russia’s energy sector, which are continuously sending weapons to Ukraine. Russia has already held Britain and France responsible for the attacks in the Black Sea, claiming that Ukraine is advancing with their assistance. The Kremlin has become agitated because Norway is also going to open a weapons plant in Ukraine after Germany.

Attacks by Ukraine continue. The attack on Russia’s nuclear plant has caused chaos in the Kremlin. Russia has now threatened that if European countries continue to provoke it by providing military assistance to Ukraine, Russia may use its nuclear weapons, meaning that the threat in Europe could escalate at any time.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized President Joe Biden, claiming that the Ukraine conflict would have escalated into World War III if he had not been in office. Trump…

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized President Joe Biden, claiming that the Ukraine conflict would have escalated into World War III if he had not been in office. Trump stated that Biden’s administration’s failures have prolonged the war and asserted that he had reduced the severity of the situation during his time in power. He emphasized his focus on ending the conflict.

During a White House media interaction, Trump mentioned that when he assumed office, relations between the Biden administration and Moscow were at their lowest point. He claimed to have restored diplomatic ties that were suspended after February 2022. Regarding the Ukraine war, he suggested that he had improved the dire circumstances significantly and that a resolution could be reached very soon.

Trump labeled the Ukraine conflict as “Biden’s war” and condemned the military support provided to Ukraine. He estimated that this support would cost the U.S. approximately $350 billion. Earlier this year, Trump indicated his intention to recoup these losses through a mineral agreement with Kyiv. However, a potential challenge lies in the fact that the mineral resources involved in the U.S.-Ukraine agreement are located in the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, which voted to join Russia in 2022.

Trump emphasized his willingness to leverage trade for conflict resolution. He highlighted the severity of the tariffs, stating they would be implemented if a deal is not finalized within the specified timeframe.

Simultaneously, Trump confirmed the US’s commitment to supplying Patriot air defense systems to Kyiv, with the European Union covering the costs. He also noted ongoing discussions regarding military support for Ukraine amid rising tensions with Russia. Trump criticized Russian aerial attacks on Kyiv and reiterated the US’s plan to provide weapons to NATO allies for transfer to Ukraine, a strategy confirmed by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. High-level talks between the US and Ukraine are scheduled, with the US reaffirming its commitment to providing weapons to Kyiv.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that high-level discussions with the United States are scheduled for next week, coinciding with the resumption of US military aid. Zelenskyy highlighted the restoration of aid shipments and upcoming military-level talks involving US officials, including General Keith Kellogg. Zelenskyy also emphasized ongoing efforts to boost weapons production within Ukraine, expressing optimism about securing further agreements. Furthermore, he called for continued sanctions against Russia to pressure an end to the ongoing conflict. The announcement followed President Trump’s reaffirmation of Washington’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s defense capabilities. This commitment comes after reports of temporary pauses in weapons deliveries, with the US now poised to send weapons to Ukraine. The resumption of aid follows a recent Russian attack on Kyiv and Trump has also indicated the US will provide weapons to NATO allies who can then transfer them to Ukraine.

Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, noted the rapidly changing ground situation and the need for Ukraine to initiate the next round of talks. He stated that Russia prefers achieving its goals through diplomatic means, while acknowledging that the military operation continues until a peaceful solution is possible. Previous talks between the two nations took place earlier this year in Istanbul, but a third round has not been scheduled. Meanwhile, the United States has reportedly resumed weapons deliveries to Ukraine. Discussions also occurred between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the ASEAN forum.
