WASHINGTON: The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle who is pregnant with her and Prince Harry’s baby, paid tribute to her husband’s late mother Princess Diana during the couple’s highly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey.

According to E!News, in a preview for the tell-all, which is set to air on March 7, Archie Harrison’s mom could be seen wearing Princess Diana’s bracelet.

It is the same bracelet that Harry took two stones to have Meghan’s engagement ring made. The outlet has learned that the couple wanted the bracelet to be worn in order to have his mother there with them during the interview.

In a sneak peek from the bombshell sit-down, Harry even referenced Diana’s death, saying his “biggest concern” with the scrutiny they have received from the British press has been “history repeating itself.”

Per E!News, Harry told Oprah in another preview clip, “You know for me, I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here talking to you with my wife by my side. Because I can’t begin to imagine what it must’ve been like for her going through this process by herself all those years ago.”

As reported by E!News, Meghan and Harry announced their decision to step back from royal life in January 2020. Since that time, the pair has relocated to Southern California with their son Archie.

As the family prepares to add a new member, Meghan, who suffered a miscarriage in July 2020, and Harry have made the decision not to return as working members of the royal family.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed to Her Majesty The Queen that they will not be returning as working members of The Royal Family. Following conversations with The Duke, The Queen has written confirming that in stepping away from the work of The Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service,” Buckingham Palace announced in a statement on February 19.

“The honorary military appointments and Royal patronages held by The Duke and Duchess will, therefore, be returned to Her Majesty, before being redistributed among working members of The Royal Family,” the statement continued.

“While all are saddened by their decision, The Duke and Duchess remain much loved members of the family.”

‘Oprah With Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special’ will air on Sunday, March 7 at 8:00 p.m. EST/PST.

  • Prince Harry opens up about Netflix’s ‘The Crown’, reveals who should play his role

    By ANI
WASHINGTON: Prince Harry during a recent interview on the ‘Late Late Show With James Corden’ opened up about his new life in California, and what he thinks about the depiction of the royal family in the historical Netflix drama series ‘The Crown’.

According to People magazine, the 36-year-old royal, opened up to host James Corden about the Netflix series and revealed that he thinks that it is truer than some of the news stories about him and his wife Meghan Markle.

While riding an open-top bus through Los Angeles, the Duke of Sussex told Corden, “They don’t pretend to be news. It’s fiction. But it’s loosely based on the truth. Of course, it’s not strictly accurate.”

Harry added, “I’m way more comfortable with The Crown than I am seeing the stories written about my family, or my wife, or myself. That is obviously fiction – take it how you will. But this is being reported on as fact because you’re supposedly news.”

Reportedly late last year, Harry’s father Prince Charles was unhappy with the depiction of him and his life with Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana in the series. Even the U.K. government’s culture secretary had weighed in saying that it should carry a “fiction” warning at the beginning of each show.

On the other hand, during the interview with Corden, Harry didn’t appear to take offense to the popular Netflix drama. He even weighed in on who he thinks the show should cast to play him.

“Daniel Lewis?” Harry mistakenly said. “Damien Lewis!” Corden corrected him, mentioning the Billons actor. “It’s a great shout,” Harry said before suggesting that the talk show host should play his brother, Prince William.

Later, during the conversation, Harry described what a regular night in for him and Meghan looks like at their home in Montecito, California. Explaining that they “do Archie’s teeth, give him a bath, read him a book,” Harry also said, “Meg might cook a meal, might order a takeaway, go upstairs, sit in bed” and turn on the TV.

Last year in September, Harry and Meghan struck a major multi-year deal with Netflix that will see them developing documentaries, feature films, scripted television shows, and children’s series.

They also recently launched a podcast on Spotify under their Archwell Audio production company, with the goal of building “community through shared experience, narratives, and values.”

The couple, who tied the knot in 2018, welcomed their first child, Archie Harrison, in May 2019.

  • Oprah Winfrey to interview Meghan Markle, Prince Harry for CBS special

WASHINGTON: Following the news about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle expecting their second child, CBS has announced that American talk show host Oprah Winfrey will sit down with the couple for an interview.

As per Variety, CBS on Monday announced that the talk show icon will be sitting down with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for a 90-minute primetime special set to air on the network on March 7 at 8 pm.

News of their interview, which is the royal couple’s first high-profile joint sit-down since their engagement interview with BBC News in November 2017, comes a day after the couple’s announcement that Meghan is pregnant.

According to the network, the special will feature a wide-ranging interview between Oprah and Meghan on subjects spanning from “stepping into life as a royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure.”

Harry will later join the women to discuss “their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.”

Speaking about the upcoming joint interview, CBS said in a statement, “Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure. Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.”

The special is produced by Harpo Productions. Terry Wood and Tara Montgomery will executive produce, along with co-executive producer Brian Piotrowicz.

Oprah is no stranger to the couple. She was a guest at their 2018 wedding in England. After the pair announced their decision to step back from royal duties, Oprah denied rumours that she had been involved in their decision, telling NBC, “Meghan and Harry do not need my help in figuring out what’s best for them.” She noted, “I care about them both and support whatever decisions they make for their family.”

Apart from attending Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding at Windsor Castle, Oprah is also one of the couple’s neighbours in their Montecito, California neighbourhood, where they moved last summer. In December 2020, Oprah also took to social media to reveal a gift Meghan had sent her ahead of Christmas.

Oprah is also teaming up with the Duke of Sussex for a mental health docuseries for Apple TV+. In a 2019 interview with podcast host Bryony Gordon, Harry said the series, which will premiere this spring, will unveil examples of “human spirit fighting back from the darkest places.”

Before Harry and Meghan made their bombshell announcement in early 2020 that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family, they grabbed headlines for comments the duo made to interviewer Tom Bradby in the ITV documentary titled ‘Harry & Meghan: An African Journey’.

During the program, which chronicled the royals during their 2019 tour in Africa, Meghan spoke candidly about scrutiny from the British press and struggling with pressure during her pregnancy and as a new mother to son Archie.

Since then, the couple has signed off from their @SussexRoyal Instagram account and their public appearances have been mostly limited to virtual conversations linked to their activism and philanthropic endeavours.
