  • Madhya Pradesh government to offer medical education in Hindi

    BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh government would offer the option of studying medicine in Hindi “in the near future”, state medical education minister Vishwas Sarang said on Tuesday.

    “We are going to form a committee at the earliest to ensure that medical education courses (material) are prepared in Hindi as well. In the near future, we will start medical studies in Hindi too,” he said on the occasion of Hindi Day.

    Earlier this month, Sarang had announced that lectures on RSS founder KB Hedgewar, Jana Sangh leader Deendayal Upadhyaya, Swami Vivekananda and BR Ambedkar will part of the first-year foundation course of MBBS.

    The decision is aimed at instilling social and medical ethics in students, he had said.

    On Monday, MP Higher Education Minister Mohan Yadav had announced that first-year students of graduation courses will be offered the ‘Ramcharitmanas’ as an elective subject under the philosophy discipline in the art stream.

And shops that have been given permission to open the shop. Instructions have been given to ensure that all the shopkeepers and all the people of their staff get antigen test done. He has said that antigen test should be done in urban areas. During this time, the team will consist of one revenue department employee, urban body employee, health department team and police department employee. This work should be done continuously for three to four days and the information should be sent in the prescribed form to the district office every evening in the evening. In compliance with this, antigen test of the relatives was done in all the urban body areas of the district today.

    Collector has said that he should take action against the people who unnecessarily move out of the house, as per rules. He said that if there is a large number of baths in the village pond, then stop it. Provide testing and other urgent services in the Containment Zone and the area remains barricaded. Ensure barricading effectively in the entry way to the village. For the people staying in the Quarantine Center, continue the testing and the provision of food and water. While giving permission for the marriage program given by the subdivisional officer, please also provide the information to the applicant that the crowd does not gather more than the prescribed number in the marriage program. Apart from this, on the occasion of the official and employee function day of the Revenue and Police Department, check that there is no more crowd than the prescribed number. If anyone is found to be in violation of the rules, then penalty action should be taken. Similarly, this rule will be applicable to any other program that is allowed.   • EU Authorises Pfizer/BioNTech’s Vaccine, Inoculation To Begin From Dec 27

    The European Union on December 21 authorised the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, with the first phase of the bloc’s mass inoculation programme to begin later this week. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) said that it was recommending the shot be licensed for use in people over 16 years of age with some exceptions. In a press briefing, President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen called the latest move “an important chapter” in the EU’s fight against COVID-19 and added that the vaccine will now be available for all EU countries at the same time and on the same conditions. 

    Von der Leyen informed that the first batches of the vaccine would be shipped from Pfizer’s manufacturing site in Belgium in the next few days, with vaccinations starting on December 27. Further, she added that the EU drug regulator would deliver their verdict on Moderna’s vaccine on January 6, potentially giving Europe a second tool with which to battle the unprecedented pandemic early in the new year. 

  • COVID-19 Vaccines Effective Against New Strain Of Virus, Says German Minister

    The European Union (EU) experts believe that the existing COVID-19 vaccine candidates against the novel coronavirus are also effective against the new strain that is rapidly spreading across the Uk except Northern Ireland. German Health Minister Jens Spahn told public broadcaster ZDF that based on the knowledge the authorities have so far about the variant, the new strain “has no impact on the vaccines” because they remain “just as effective”. 

    Spahn made the claim citing “talks among experts of European authorities” while referring to the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer-BioNTech that is already being administered in several countries including the United States and the UK. Pfizer’s vaccine is also set to receive approval from the European Medicines Agency. As the new strain continues to spread in the UK, EU health ministry spokesperson reportedly said that the union’s experts held a meeting on December 20.
