  • Actor Matt Bomer in talks to join Bradley Cooper’s Maestro

    Doom Patrol and The Sinner-actor Matt Bomer is in negotiations to join the cast of Netflix’s upcoming biopic drama, Maestro, on legendary composer Leonard Bernstein. The film has Bradley Cooper directing and starring as Bernstein. Cooper has also written the film along with Josh Singer.

    The drama tells the life story of Bernstein, over a span of 30 years, from his conducting debut at the New York Philharmonic at 25, when he performed without rehearsing when the scheduled conductor took ill. Bernstein did so well his star was launched the next day when his feat made the front page of The New York Times. 

    He was blacklisted before being cleared of being a communist just before he composed the Oscar-nominated score for On the Waterfront. He was also a civil rights activist and was outspoken on issues including ending the Vietnam War. 

  • Daniel Sunjata joins Michelle Monaghan in Netflix’s Echoes

    Actor Daniel Sunjata has been roped in to star opposite Michelle Monaghan and Matt Bomer in Netflix’s upcoming psychological thriller limited series Echoes. Echoes follows identical twins Leni and Gina, played by Monaghan, who carry a dangerous secret that they have secretly swapped lives since they were children, which culminated into a double life as adults. The twins share their two homes, two partners and a child, but their lives are thrown into disarray when one of the sisters goes missing. 

    Though identical, Gina and Leni are unique in their own way. Leni is the sister that is content to stay home, marry her childhood sweetheart, raise her daughter and help run a horse farm where everyone lives together, rooted in their long shared history. 

    Meanwhile, Gina is a rebellious sister who turned her back on all that and escaped to Los Angeles where she rose to quick fame writing about a darker undertow that informed her Southern childhood. Sunjata will play Gina’s husband, Charlie Davenport, while Bomer will play Leni’s husband, Jack Beck.

    Echoes is created by executive producers and co-showrunners Brian Yorkey (13 Reasons Why) and Quinton Peeples (Runaways). The limited series, which will comprise of seven episodes, hails from Endemol Shine Banks Australia and is executive produced by Imogen Banks. The show also has Vanessa Gazy serving as executive producer and writer.

    Sunjata will next be seen in Starz’s Power Book II: Ghost. His feature credits include The Dark Knight Rises, Ghosts of a Girlfriend’s Past and The Devil Wears Prada. Notably, he was a part of the original Broadway cast of Take Me Out, which garnered him a Tony nomination. 

  • ‘White Collar’ actor Matt Bomer joins Michelle Monaghan in Netflix thriller

    Matt Bomer will star opposite Michelle Monaghan in Netflix’s upcoming thriller limited series, Echoes. Created and written by Vanessa Gazy, Echoes is about identical twins Leni and Gina (played by Monaghan).

    They share a dangerous secret, and their carefully choreographed but convoluted world comes crashing when one of the sisters goes missing.  

    Bomer will play Jack Beck, Leni’s husband. When his wife disappears mysteriously, it’s Jack who has the most to lose as her secret life comes to the surface.

    13 Reasons Why showrunner Brian Yorkey is onboard the project as the co-showrunner and executive producer. Apart from writing Echoes, Gazy will also executive produce the series alongside Quinton Peeples, who will double up as the co-showrunner. Imogen Banks and Endemol Shine Banks Australia are also onboard as the executive producers.
