  • Developed Gauthan as a livelihood-collector

    Shiv Anant Tayal gave necessary instructions to the officers by taking a review meeting regarding the progress of various activities going on in selected Gothans of the district under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. The Collector asked Gauthan to develop it as a livelihood. During the meeting held in Darshan Sabha in the past, the District Collector has instructed the Department of Agriculture and related that to make maximum Vermi Compost in all the Gothans and to raise Vermi Culture (Ketchua Production), wide publicity and promotion of Vermi Compost and It has been directed to encourage farmers. The assistant director’s garden was directed to purchase the vermi compost produced in all the plantations. It was directed to submit an immediate action plan for community enclosure in selected Gothan villages. Assistant Director Matsya was directed to follow the past through self-help groups in selected model Gothanas of the development block. The Collector Shri Tayal directed the departments concerned to make the plan a success by sitting in harmony with each other. In the meeting mainly Deputy Director Agriculture, Assistant Director Garden, Assistant Director Fisheries, Chief Executive Officer Bemetra / Saja / Berla / Nawagarh, Nodal Officer District Cooperative Central Bank Mary., Subdivisional Agriculture Officer Bemetra, Assistant Land Conservation Officer Bemetara, Assistant Director.   • Chhattisgarh is planning to give farming status to fisheries: CM Baghel

    Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that his government will take initiative towards providing farming status to pisciculture.

    Addressing a conference to mark World Fisheries Day, Baghel asked the fishing community to focus on scientific methods and better management of sale of produce to improve their economic condition, a release issued by the state public relations department said. “The state government will take initiative to give status of farming to fisheries. Directives have been issued to the officials to make a plan in this regard,” the release quoted Baghel as saying.

    Like agriculture, initiative of providing interest-free loans from cooperative banks for fisheries and rebate in electricity rates to the Nishad, Kenwat and Dhimar communities engaged in fishing will be taken, he added.

    “The fishermen community is being given grant-in-aid in various schemes, but this has not changed their economic condition much. It is necessary they adopt scientific methods of fish farming and focus on better management of sale of produce,” he said.

    This will not only improve their economic condition, but Chhattisgarh will also emerge as the top State in the country in terms of fish production like paddy production, the CM added.

    On the occasion, Baghel distributed motorcycles fitted with ice boxes to 15 fishermen and autorickshaws equipped with ice boxes to two fishermen, the statement said.

  • Chief Minister released the book ‘Ramkatha Amrit’

    Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel released the book “Ramkatha Amrit” at the Chhattisgarh Fishermen’s Sammelan on the occasion of World Fisheries Day at his residence office here today. The author of this book is Mr. Mithilesh Prakash Sharma. On this occasion, Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Kunwar Singh Nishad, Ms. Shakuntala Sahu and Mr. Vikas Upadhyay, President of Chhattisgarh State Fishermen Welfare Board Mr. M.R. Nishad, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Mineral Development Corporation Mr. Girish Dewangan and the creator of the book Mr. Mithlesh Prakash Sharma were present.
