  • ‘Loki’ S2 sets release date

    By Express News Service

The second season of the acclaimed Marvel series Loki is all set to premiere on Disney+ on October 6, Marvel Studios announced. The series, which will have six episodes, will be released weekly, following the traditional streaming model of Disney+.

The makers have not yet started revealing any details about the show’s upcoming season. The first season of Loki follows an alternate timeline variant of the god of mischief as he gets into trouble with the Timeline Variance Authority, an interdimensional governing body that takes care of infinite timelines and controls the variations that are not supposed to happen.

The last moments of the first season of Loki introduced Kang the Conqueror, who got a full-fledged role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which recently kicked off Phase Five. After the destruction of He Who Remains, various timelines of the multi-verse have gone into chaos, setting an amusing premise for season 2. The second season cast includes Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, & Sophia Di Martino.

  • Scarlett Johansson has no plans to return to Marvel

    By Express News Service

Scarlett Johansson, who first appeared as Black Widow in Iron Man 2 (2010) before moving on to star in The Avengers films and Black Widow in 2021, has stated that she has no plans to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future.

Speaking at The Goop Podcast to Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett said, “Yeah, it was awesome. It was like the best time ever. I mean, doing Avengers was so much fun. I was 26 years old, I was single, and it was fun! You know, I didn’t have any responsibility to anybody but to just enjoy yourself.” Further, she said, “And then every couple of years, we would go back, and do it again, and all be in different places in our lives. Like, somebody would have a kid or be getting married, or divorced, or remarried, or whatever. And it was like, I don’t know, an adult summer camp thing. And it was cool. It was really, really some of the best experiences.”

Lastly, she confirmed, “I’m done. Yes, I’m done. The chapter is over. I did all that I had to do. Also, coming back and playing a character again and again like that, over a decade of time, is such a unique experience.”

  • Tobey Maguire wants to return as Spider-Man after ‘No Way Home’

    By Express News Service

Ahead of the release of the book Spider-Man No Way Home: The Official Movie Special, Marvel shared excerpts from an interview where Tobey Maguire discusses his Spider-Man MCU return. And he opened up about his desire to keep playing Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: No Way Home brought Tobey Maguire back to the spidey costume first time in 15 years. The first time he appeared was in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man (2002).

Since Sony rebooted spider man twice after that film, it was largely thought that his chance to play the character was over. However, Spider-Man: No Way Home proved that Tobey Maguire could still play Peter Parker.

“I love these films and I love all of the different series. If these guys called me and said, “Would you show up tonight to hang out and goof around?” or “Would you show up to do this movie or read a scene or do a Spider-Man thing?”, it would be a “yes!” Because why wouldn’t I want to do that?” the actor shared his desire to be back as spidey during the interview.

Sony is yet to announce any concrete plans for its next live-action Spider-Man movie. It will star Tom Holland, who has played the superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017.

As No Way Home grossed $1.9 billion at the worldwide box office, the comeback of Tobey Maguire as spidey might be possible.

  • Actor Jeremy Renner suffered ’30 plus broken bones’ in snow plow accident

    By AFP

LOS ANGELES: Actor Jeremy Renner — perhaps best known as Hawkeye in the Marvel Universe films — said Saturday he broke more than 30 bones when he was run over by his own snow plow at his Nevada home on New Year’s Day.

The “Avengers” star spent more than two weeks in the hospital after the giant 14,000-lb (six-ton) vehicle rolled onto him as he was clearing a driveway.

“These 30 plus broken bones will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens,” the 52-year-old two-time Oscar nominee wrote on Instagram, thanking fans for their messages of support.

I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness. Much love and appreciation to you all. These 30 plus broken bones will mend , grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens pic.twitter.com/kzj2CLYdXA

He posted a photo of himself lying on a medical bed, hands clenched at the chest, while a man is holding up his leg, bent at the knee.

“Morning workouts, resolutions all changed this particular new years,” Renner wrote. “Spawned from tragedy for my entire family, and quickly focused into uniting actionable love.”

Renner sustained the injuries while attempting to climb into the snow plow to stop it. He was evacuated by helicopter and later posted a selfie from his hospital bed, showing heavy bruising on his face.

Officials said shortly after the accident there was no indication that alcohol or drugs were involved.

The PistenBully, or snowcat, operated by Renner is a large specialized snow-plowing vehicle with giant, raised caterpillar tracks on each side of an enclosed cab.

Renner has been nominated for two Oscars for his roles in “The Hurt Locker” and “The Town.” He also stars in the Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown.”
