The automotive sector is currently experiencing significant shifts due to the GST 2.0 reforms implemented by the government. This new tax system has not only reduced the prices of smaller cars but has also brought about substantial changes in the 7-seater MPV and SUV segments. Consequently, family rides are now more affordable and luxurious than ever before.

Models starting from ₹5.76 lakh, such as the Renault Triber, Maruti Ertiga, Mahindra Scorpio, Toyota Innova, Kia Carens, Mahindra Bolero, and Toyota Fortuner, are now available at reduced prices. Let’s take a look at the price reductions for each car.

Maruti Ertiga: A Popular Family Choice
In August 2025, the company sold a total of 18,445 units. The initial price was ₹9.11 lakh, but after the GST cut, the price dropped to ₹8.80 lakh. This represents a total relief of 3.46 percent.

Mahindra Scorpio: Affordable Powerhouse SUV
The Mahindra Scorpio has always been synonymous with power and style on Indian roads. In August, a total of 9,840 units were sold. The initial price was ₹13.76 lakh, which has now decreased to ₹12.97 lakh. This 5.76 percent reduction means that SUV enthusiasts can now purchase this car at a lower price.

Toyota Innova: Premium MPV Now More Affordable
The Innova has been the first choice for both Indian families and corporations. In August, 9,304 units were sold. The base variant initially cost ₹19.09 lakh, which has now reduced to ₹18.05 lakh after a cut of ₹1.03 lakh. This represents a total saving of 5.41 percent.

Mahindra Bolero: The Heart of Rural India
The Bolero, a favorite in rural areas, has also become more affordable. In August, 8,109 units were sold. The initial price of ₹9.70 lakh has decreased to ₹8.68 lakh, representing a significant relief of 10.51 percent. This reduction could potentially increase the demand for the Bolero.

Maruti XL6: Premium Look, Affordable Price
The Maruti XL6 is distinguished by its stylish appearance and comfortable interior. In August, 2,973 units were sold. The initial price of ₹11.93 lakh has now dropped to ₹11.52 lakh, resulting in a 3.45% relief.

Toyota Fortuner: Luxury SUV Becomes Cheaper
The Fortuner is considered a combination of luxury and power in India. In August, 2,508 units were sold. The initial price of ₹36.05 lakh has now decreased to ₹33.64 lakh. This is a relief of ₹2.40 lakh and a 6.67% reduction.

Renault Triber: The Most Affordable 7-Seater
Starting at ₹5.76 lakh, the Triber has become the most affordable 7-seater car in the country. In August, a total of 1,870 units were sold. The initial price of ₹6.29 lakh has now been reduced to ₹5.76 lakh after a cut of ₹53,695. This represents an 8.52% saving. It is an excellent option for large families on a budget.

The Maruti Ertiga, a popular choice for families, has been updated by Maruti Suzuki in the Indian market. The carmaker has enhanced this MPV with new features and minor cosmetic…

The Maruti Ertiga, a popular choice for families, has been updated by Maruti Suzuki in the Indian market. The carmaker has enhanced this MPV with new features and minor cosmetic changes to make it even more powerful. The brand has repositioned the second-row AC vents. They are now located behind the center console, a common placement in most cars. This change may be seen as a slight downgrade, helping the brand save on costs and time, as center console-mounted AC vents were already available in other brand products. The car’s price starts from ₹9.11 lakh.

Regarding cosmetic changes, the brand has redesigned the rear spoiler. The new spoiler features protruding units on both sides, enhancing the MPV’s look. Besides, there are no other cosmetic changes in the 2025 Ertiga.

Speaking of the third row, occupants now have their separate vents along with blower controls. Lastly, the brand has also added USB Type C ports, two for the second row and two for the third row. The new Ertiga is now 40mm longer, with a total length reaching 4,435mm. It features a new roof-mounted rear spoiler, which not only gives it a modern look but also enhances the car’s road presence. Additionally, there are updated tail lamps, a new tailgate, and rear quarter panels. However, the front grille and lighting setup remain unchanged.

The biggest change in the interior concerns safety features. All variants now come standard with 6 airbags. Also, all seats get 3-point seat belts, whereas the old model had a lap belt only for the middle seat of the second row. The engine options remain the same: the 1.5-liter K15C smart hybrid petrol and CNG versions. The petrol model offers a mileage of up to 20.51 Km/L, while the CNG model offers fuel efficiency of around 26.11 Km/Kg.

The Maruti Ertiga, a best-selling family car (MPV) in India, is expected to see dimensional changes soon. According to reports, the overall length of this MPV will increase from 4.39…

The Maruti Ertiga, a best-selling family car (MPV) in India, is expected to see dimensional changes soon. According to reports, the overall length of this MPV will increase from 4.39 meters to 4.43 meters. While the wheelbase will remain at 2.74 meters, the boot space will also increase. However, since the Ertiga Tour M fleet variant already comes with larger dimensions, the vehicle manufacturer may further increase its dimensions.

**Maruti Ertiga Price and Safety Features:**
The 2025 Maruti Ertiga will come with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) as a standard safety fitting, along with slight changes to the AC vents for the second row of seats. Recently, this MPV lineup has also been updated with six airbags, which has led to a slight increase in its price. Currently, the Ertiga comes in 9 variants, priced between ₹9.11 lakh to ₹13.40 lakh (all, ex-showroom).

**Maruti Ertiga Engine:**
The updated Maruti Ertiga may use the existing 1.5-liter K-Series petrol engine, which generates a maximum of 102 bhp and 136 Nm of torque. The CNG variant delivers 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox comes standard, while some petrol variants also get a 6-speed automatic transmission.

**New Model to Launch on September 3, 2025:**
Among other updates, Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch a new Arena-exclusive mid-size SUV to compete with the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. This new model, positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara, will be available for sale on September 3, 2025. The official name and details are not yet revealed; however, the new Maruti SUV is expected to be named ‘Escudo’ or ‘Victorris’.
