In lieu of this, there was also talk of paying ration shopkeepers at the rate of 14 rupees per gunny. Following the directives of the government, the food department had issued a notice to the ration shopkeepers of the district asking them to calculate and return the old gunny bags. Till now the ration holders have not returned. Actually, during the Corona transition, the shopkeepers have sold the empty gunny bags in the market.
