Scooters are increasingly popular in Indian cities. The primary reason for this is the automatic transmission. Scooters come without gears, making them easy to ride in traffic and crowded places.

A second major advantage is storage space. Almost all scooters offer under-seat storage where helmets, bags, or important documents can be kept. Additionally, items can be placed on the flat footboard. This feature is especially convenient for women.

Scooters also offer good mileage and lower maintenance costs, making them a budget-friendly option for daily commutes. However, scooters are not as reliable for long distances, rough roads, and high speeds.

Motorcycles usually come with powerful engines. This is why they are considered better for long-distance travel and uneven roads. Motorcycles also feel more stable and safer at high speeds on highways.

Many commuter segment motorcycles like Hero Splendor, Honda Shine, and Bajaj Platina provide excellent mileage, making daily commutes economical. Their larger wheels and robust suspension also provide better grip.

However, motorcycles require gear changes, which can be a bit difficult for new riders or in traffic. They also do not have as much storage space as scooters. Furthermore, the maintenance costs of sports or high-performance bikes can be higher.

Both scooters and motorcycles have their own advantages and limitations. If you travel short distances daily in the city, desire easy riding, and need storage space, then buying a scooter is better.

However, if your daily commute is long, you need power and speed, and you also travel on highways, then a motorcycle will be the right choice for you.

Inverter batteries use lead-acid cells that utilize an electrolyte (a liquid acid plus distilled water) during charging and discharging. As the battery is used and charged, water gradually evaporates. If water isn’t added periodically, the electrolyte level decreases, impacting performance.

Adding water is necessary to maintain the electrolyte level, ensuring the battery functions correctly. Distilled water balances this level. It extends the battery’s life, preventing overheating and damage. Dry batteries can overheat and potentially ignite or explode. Proper water levels also ensure full charging efficiency, providing good backup power.

Tap water is unsuitable; it contains minerals, salts, and iron, which can damage the internal plates, causing early failure and reduced backup time.

Check the battery monthly. Add enough distilled water to submerge the plates, avoiding overfilling to prevent acid leakage.

They observed that the drains are crucial for water drainage from the nursery area. The inspection of Atal Awas revealed that garbage was accumulating in the streets, causing a foul smell. CMO Salame was instructed to ensure a thorough cleaning of Atal Awas and to consider establishing a garden or open gym in the vacant areas within the complex. The Vice President also appealed to the residents of Atal Awas to maintain cleanliness, assuring them that the municipality was taking care of the cleaning of the garbage.

Residents were reminded that maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings was their responsibility. During the inspection, a woman from Atal Awas submitted an application regarding a full septic tank, requesting its cleaning. Following this, the Nayapara water tank was inspected. It was noted that the tank had not been cleaned for approximately 5-6 years, and tall grass had grown around it. The water tank employees were instructed to clean it within a week, and CMO Salame was directed to prioritize the cleaning of the water tank, emphasizing the importance of cleaning all tanks in the city, as the public uses this water for drinking. The Vice President also suggested to the CMO that the Nayapara community center, which has been closed for about 7-8 years and previously housed a primary health center, should be cleaned and put to use. He proposed that the community center could be used for municipal tasks related to the Nayapara area, such as property tax and water bill collection, birth and death certificate applications, ration card and pension-related work, thus making the building useful. The building’s deterioration due to lack of maintenance was noted, and the need for its upkeep was emphasized.

The CMO also inspected the Sant Ravidas Garden. It was found that the underground pipeline in the garden was damaged, and the lighting system was also poor. The statue of Sant Ravidas also required painting. The CMO was requested to address all the shortcomings in the garden quickly, as it is the only garden available for the residents of Nayapara. The Vice President urged the officer to ensure that all the issues identified during the inspection were addressed immediately.
