A chilling act of vengeance has rocked Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, where Hari Singh Malviya allegedly killed his own nephew and niece amid a fierce battle over ancestral land. The double murder in Dharmapuri village has sparked outrage and prompted a massive police operation.

The victims, 22-year-old Sheetla and 20-year-old Kuldeep, sons and daughters of Jagdish Malviya, were set to appear for crucial board examinations on Friday. As they readied themselves at home—unaware of the impending doom—their uncle stormed in armed with sticks.

What followed was a savage assault that left the siblings critically wounded. Despite frantic efforts to save them, both succumbed to their injuries en route to the hospital. Jagdish, absent during the attack, returned to a nightmare.

Decades of acrimony over property lines between Hari and Jagdish boiled over into this bloodbath. ‘Family ties meant nothing in the face of greed,’ remarked a local elder, capturing the village’s disbelief.

Furious locals vented their anger through protests, leading to a scuffle with on-duty police. Calm was restored after reinforcements arrived, and the postmortem confirmed the brutal nature of the deaths.

Fugitive Hari Singh is the prime suspect, with police launching a full-scale pursuit. ASP Sunita Rawat detailed the strategy: ‘Special teams are combing areas, checking all possible leads. His capture is imminent.’

SHO Girish Dubey emphasized heightened security measures. ‘A case under relevant sections is filed, and we’re committed to justice,’ he said, as tension lingers in the air.

This gruesome incident serves as a stark reminder of how land disputes can turn fatal, pushing authorities to mediate such conflicts proactively. The quest for the killer continues, as a family buries its future.

Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh erupted in horror as a man driven by paranoia over sorcery hacked two neighbors to death. The February 12 bloodbath in Antarva village claimed the lives of Kajal Singh and Phoolmati, with two others critically wounded.

Local resident Chhatrapati Singh accused the victims of using black magic to curse his family. Childless despite years of marriage, and devastated by his wife’s recent miscarriage, he snapped. Armed with an axe, he attacked without warning.

Eyewitnesses described chaos as bystanders rushed to stop the frenzy, only to be slashed themselves. The injured pair was rushed to hospital, where doctors are fighting to stabilize them.

On arriving, police discovered ritualistic items including multiple coconuts placed on a chabutra, alongside the murder weapon. The scene painted a picture of deep-seated superstition.

Chhatrapati fled into a nearby home and locked himself in, prompting a prolonged police operation. After intense efforts, he surrendered peacefully.

Community members revealed the accused’s growing obsession with witchcraft since his personal tragedies. This gruesome case reignites debates on tackling irrational beliefs that continue to claim lives in India’s hinterlands.

Panic gripped Tendukheda in Damoh district when sanitation workers stumbled upon a heartbreaking sight: a mother and her infant son lifeless in a public well. The incident, unfolding early Saturday in Ward No. 1 under the municipal corporation’s jurisdiction, has prompted a thorough police probe into whether depression, accident, or something sinister led to this double tragedy.

Eyewitnesses recounted how the cleaners spotted the floating bodies during their morning rounds and wasted no time notifying the police. A swift response from SDOP Archana Ahir, SHO Ravendra Bagri, and their team ensured the bodies—identified as 35-year-old Jayanti Kevat from Jharoli and her three-month-old Devansh—were recovered promptly. Post inquest, they were dispatched for autopsy.

Jayanti’s relative, Siya Rani, revealed the timeline: the mother had arrived for her brother’s terahvi ceremony and vanished at 2 a.m. Despite frantic searches till dawn, she remained missing until the grim discovery at 6 a.m. Her laborer husband is devastated, compounded by her long-term illness and the prior loss of two other children.

As forensic details emerge, investigators are leaving no stone unturned, interviewing family and neighbors. The case highlights ongoing rural challenges like mental health support amid personal hardships. Community leaders call for better vigilance around public wells, while police assure a fair inquiry to deliver justice and closure to the grieving family.
