The Congress president, Mallikarjun Kharge, has appealed to the people of his home district of Kalaburagi. He requested them to attend his funeral if they believed he worked for them, even if they didn’t wish to vote for the party candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Kharge, who won the Lok Sabha elections in 2009 and 2014 but lost in 2019, has stated that he will remain a part of politics until his last breath to fight against the BJP and RSS ideologies.

Another Tragedy For BJP After Moradabad, Party’s Hathras MP Rajveer Diler Dies Of Heart Attack |
NEW DELHI: In yet another tragedy for the ruling BJP, its sitting Member of Parliament from Hathras Rajveer Diler died on Wednesday due to a heart attack. According to reports, Diler passed away while undergoing treatment at the Varun Hospital in Aligarh. Rajveer Diler was rushed to the Varun Hospital on Ramghat Road for treatment after he complained of severe chest pain in the evening. He was declared dead upon reaching the hospital. Rajveer Singh Diler’s mortal remains were later brought to his residence on the ITI Road. The sudden demise of the sitting BJP MP triggered a shockwave throughout the district. Diler’s untimely death is a significant political loss for his party – the BJP.
Several top BJP leaders have expressed grief over his death.
2nd Tragedy For BJP In A Week
After Moradabad, this is the second major blow for the BJP within a week. BJP candidate Kunwar Suresh Singh from Moradabad passed away on the first phase of voting last Saturday
Rajveer Diler won the 2019 Lok Sabha election on the BJP ticket and became a Member of Parliament. However, Diler was not given the ticket to contest the Lok Sabha polls this time. BJP has fielded Anoop Balmiki from the Hathras Lok Sabha seat.
Rajveer Diler, 65, was elected as a legislator from the Iglas assembly seat in 2017. However, he resigned to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Diler won the Hathras seat with a margin of 260,208 votes. He polled 684,299 votes with a vote share of 59.00 per cent and defeated his SP rival Ramji Lal Suman, who got 424,091 votes (36.83 per cent). His father, Kishan Lal Diler, has also served as a Member of Parliament from Hathras.
Rajveer Diler was known for his clean image – the main reason behind his nomination as a BJP candidate in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. While family members and close relatives are grieving over Rajveer Diler’s death, his supporters and political leaders have also started gathering at his residence to offer condolences.
Earlier this week, BJP candidate Kunwar Suresh Singh from Muradabad passed away due to a sudden cardiac arrest at AIIMS Delhi after a brief illness. Suresh Singh was not very active during the election campaigning, but he had reached his Lok Sabha seat on polling day and cast his vote.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, state BJP president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over his demise.

‘Will Get Back What Was Snatched From Us After 2019…’: Mehbooba Mufti In Pahalgam |
Pahalgam: The ongoing electoral battle transcends mere developmental issues; the priority is safeguarding Jammu and Kashmir’s core identity and interests, stated Mehbooba Mufti, President of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), during a series of roadshows across various hamlets of South Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Saturday. Mehbooba rallied supporters, emphasizing that the ongoing electoral battle focuses on safeguarding the core identity and interests of Jammu and Kashmir, rather than just developmental issues. She expressed the intention to reclaim the plundered rights of Jammu and Kashmir since 5th August 2019.
Mehbooba underscored the significance of unity among the people of Jammu and Kashmir, urging them to rise above partisan politics and prioritize the greater cause. She stated that the PDP is the protector of people’s interests and, if voted into power, will take the people’s voices to parliament.
Addressing the challenges faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba remarked, “The current scenario in Jammu and Kashmir reflects a systematic assault on our rights and resources.” She highlighted issues such as skyrocketing electricity bills and the denial of employment opportunities for educated youth, asserting that the people are bearing the brunt of these injustices.
Mehbooba alleged, “Our lands are being taken away from us, our resources and jobs are being bartered to outsiders. Our people are being turned into bonded laborers with no identity and no say,” while addressing a public rally.
She further pledged to fight to reverse the losses incurred since 5th August 2019, promising a resurgence of rights and dignity for the people of Kashmir.
Mehbooba assured, “I promise you that we will get back whatever was snatched away from us post 5th August 2019,” and asked people to remain vigilant and united in the face of adversity. “We must not lose hope, for history has shown that change is possible even in the darkest of times,” concluded Mufti.

Lok Sabha Election 2024: What BJP And Congress Manifestos Promise For Women And Farmers |
New Delhi: As voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is getting nearer, both the leading political parties – Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) – have introduced their manifestos outlining their visions and commitments for the next five years. While Congress has termed its manifesto ‘Nyay Patra’, the BJP titles it ‘Sankalp Patra’ riding in the ‘Modi Ki Guaranteee’ slogan.
Both the BJP and the Congress have delineated their primary commitments and priorities for Women and Farmer – two sections that constitute more than half of India’s population. Now let’s analyse and compare the pledges outlined by each party in their respective manifestos.
Promises For Farmers
We always heard the term ‘India is an agrarian nation’ and still most of the population emerged from the agriculture sector and plays a crucial role in vote banking. Similar to previous manifestos, both political parties have made commitments to farmers, a crucial vote bank.
Congress- The party pledges to give a legal guarantee to the Minimum Support Price (MSP) announced annually by the government. They also promise to appoint a Permanent Commission on Agricultural Finance to regularly assess agriculture credit and recommend measures for loan relief when needed.
On the other hand, the BJP promised to continue to increase MSP from time to time and pledged to strengthen the PM Fasal Bima Yojana by integrating advanced technologies, ensuring swift and precise assessment, expedited payouts, and prompt resolution of grievances
Promises For Women
Women play a key role in shaping the vote bank of any political party.
The Grand Old Party, Congress promised to launch a Mahalakshmi scheme which provides one lakh per year to every poor Indian family, The manifesto also said that the party has decided to reserve one-half (50 per cent) of central government jobs for women starting in 2025 if they come in power. Congress also promised to double the number of working women hostels in the country.
While, BJP ‘Sankalp Patra’ aims to expand the current healthcare services with a focus on preventing and reducing anaemia, breast cancer, cervical cancer, and osteoporosis, thereby ensuring women lead healthier lives. Manifesto also mentioned launching a targeted campaign to eradicate cervical cancer. The party also promised to implement the Women’s Reservation Bill, guaranteeing representation for women in both the Parliament and State Legislatures.

New Delhi: With the country poised for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, all eyes are on the electoral battlegrounds, including the vibrant discussions surrounding Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand. Here, the BJP has put forth its seasoned leader, Anil Baluni, into the political fray. Baluni’s candidacy has stirred considerable public interest, evident from pre-election surveys. Pauri, historically significant for Uttarakhand, has been a cradle of leadership, contributing five Chief Ministers to the state.
In this political fervour gripping Uttarakhand, the Pauri Lok Sabha seat remains a focal point. Since the election announcement, BJP’s candidate, Anil Baluni, has been actively engaging with constituents, addressing their concerns and aspirations. Remarkably, prevailing political dynamics overwhelmingly favour Baluni in Pauri Garhwal, solidifying his standing as a beloved leader among the populace.
Electoral Dynamics Favour BJP In Pauri Garhwal
The pulse of the electorate, as reflected in the survey conducted by Matrize News Communication, underscores Baluni’s ascendancy. BJP’s vote share is on an upward trajectory, while Congress faces a decline. Pauri Lok Sabha encompasses 14 assembly constituencies, each pivotal in shaping the electoral landscape. Examining the projected voter turnout across these constituencies provides insights into the shifting political tides leading up to the elections.

The Mandi Battle: Will Kangana Ranaut Be Able To Fight The Monarch’s Realm? |
New Delhi: In the 18th Lok Sabha elections of the country, the ‘Mandi’ seat of Himachal Pradesh has not only attracted the attention of the nation but has also been buzzing with its spectacular entry into Bollywood politics. Mandi, which used to be the market of kings, is seeing a new bloom of stage politics.
By fielding the Rajput Bollywood actress Ranaut in this excellent and already highly favourable seat, the BJP has courted several controversies. It was also a convenient seat for the BJP because out of the 10 assembly constituencies in Mandi district, 9 were already in the BJP’s kitty, and the BJP’s vote margin in the remaining assembly constituencies of the Mandi parliamentary seat was very low in 2022. However, by fielding Kangana Ranaut from this seat, the BJP suddenly found itself embroiled in controversies at the national level, especially since Kangana already had many well-wishers from Bollywood. The direct impact of the “Jagati Samaj” of Himachal Pradesh on this actress and candidate who is constantly trolled on social media is evident. It is another matter that Kangana’s social media guardian is also putting up a tough fight.
However, the Congress has not yet clarified its cards regarding its probable candidate. As soon as the candidate is announced, the star attraction will take on a new form.
The politics of the Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh has been controversial as well as interesting because those contesting from here have never been from an ordinary background. Maheshwar Singh from the royal family won three times, Virbhadra Singh twice, his wife Pratibha Singh twice, former Union Minister Pandit Sukh Ram three times.
Virbhadra belonged to the Bushehar princely state, Maheshwar to Kullu, and Sukh Ram hailed from Mandi district. Moreover, even Jairam Thakur was defeated from here. However, after becoming the Chief Minister, he gained such a strong foothold in Mandi that Ram Swaroop, associated with the RSS, won handsomely in 2019. But when he committed suicide in Delhi, Pratibha Singh won again with 49.23 percent of the votes, even though the BJP’s Jairam government was in power in the state at that time.
Overall, the Mandi seat elections take on a new direction and dimension every time. The BJP has placed its bet on celebrity Kangana. However, even before Kangana’s candidature was announced, Pratibha Singh had declared that she would not contest. It was believed that Pratibha did not want to come forward due to the Modi wave. That’s why she also talked about the neglect of workers in her own government in Mandi. Amid this, as soon as Kangana’s candidature was announced from Delhi, accompanied by a blitzkrieg of social media commentary, the Mandi seat became super hot. While the party workers in Mandi were thrilled to see the superstar in person, the senior party leaders in Mandi were overshadowed by Kangana’s presence. Although the outspoken Kangana refuted the allegations in Mandeali, the local voters who speak Pangi, Lahul, Rampur, Chhatri, Saraj, and Mandi dialects were perplexed by her mixed Bilaspuri and Sarkaghati dialect. After all, Kangana’s next challenge would be to speak these local dialects as well.
In fact, the Mandi parliamentary constituency has 17 assembly segments, including four from Kullu district and one each from Chamba, Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, and Shimla districts. Mandi has 9 seats, which means that the Mandi parliamentary area covers 6 districts, and all 6 districts have different dialects.
In these 17 assembly constituencies, there is a close contest between the two parties. However, the BJP gets a substantial vote share from Jairam’s seat in Saraj, Anil Sharma’s seat in Mandi, Janak Raj’s seat in Bharmour, and Rakesh Jamwal’s seat in Sundarnagar. Kangana’s weight also increases due to these BJP seats in Mandi district.
But the challenges are not few either. As the campaign picks up pace, the Congress will launch a full-fledged attack. Whether it’s Kangana’s pictures, her outspoken statements, or issues related to her diet and lifestyle that go against the ideology of the Sangh and the party, they will create hurdles for her.
The influence and resentment of the large Dev community led by BJP’s senior leader and former MP Maheshwar Singh from Kullu will not make Kangana’s path as smooth as it could have been for an ordinary worker like Ram Swaroop. If the Virbhadra family jumps into the fray, then the unity of the royal family and the Devlu community will also show its impact in the region.
Due to Kangana’s glamour, the charm of any big local leader is fading. As a result, the importance of big leaders standing on the stage has diminished. This issue could also impact the elections. However, as a bold actress, Kangana is also the favorite of the youth. From this perspective, even if Ranaut does not get the workers’ votes, the fan votes might be enough.
It is being said that the Congress is still gauging the mood. It will announce the candidate after a little delay. Stalwarts like the mother Pratibha Singh, or the son Vikramaditya will be the Congress’s weapons. If Vikramaditya takes over his father’s mantle, then Kangana’s difficulties could increase. Like his father, Singh is also quite popular among the youth.
It is worth mentioning that in the 2021 Lok Sabha by-election, Congress candidate Pratibha Singh received 365,650 votes, while BJP’s Khushal Singh got 356,664 votes, with a vote margin of only 1.18 percent. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s Ram Swaroop Sharma received 647,189 votes, while Congress’s Aashray Sharma got 241,730 votes, with a vote margin of 43 percent. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s Ram Swaroop got 362,824 votes, while Congress’s Pratibha Singh received 322,968 votes, with a vote margin of 5.5 percent.
It has to be observed whether Kangana’s Bollywood image and her social media management would dilute the Modi’s wave on development and the simplicity of Himachal’s former CM Jai Ram Thakur, in the constituency? Or will she make her own way into politics, keeping aside all the controversies as an actress?
