The central government has canceled the license of Sonam Wangchuk’s NGO. This action was taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) following the Leh violence. The MHA’s investigation found that Sonam Wangchuk’s organization SECMOL provided incorrect information about foreign donations and violated FCRA regulations. Students had protested in support of Wangchuk demanding full statehood for Ladakh. During the protest, violence erupted, leading to four deaths. In other news, the Indian Air Force’s first supersonic fighter aircraft, the MiG-21, is set to retire. The farewell ceremony will be held in Chandigarh. The MiG-21 was first inducted into the Air Force in August 1962 and played a crucial role in several wars. Due to its features and shortcomings, the MiG-21 earned two names: ‘Tiger of the Sky’ and ‘Flying Coffin.’ Separately, IRS officer Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation suit against Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s company, Red Chillies Entertainment, in the Delhi High Court. The case is related to a web series about Shah Rukh’s son, Aryan Khan, where a character similar to Sameer is portrayed. Sameer believes the series is damaging his image. In sports, for the first time in Asia Cup history, India and Pakistan will play in the final. Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 11 runs to secure a place in the final.
