    OPPO Reno 5 Pro + 5G has been launched in China. This is part of the Oppo Reno 5 Series.   • Xiaomi’s Mi 11 launches December 28th as the first phone with the Snapdragon 888

    Aday before Qualcomm unveiled its latest flagship chipset, the company confirmed the names of 14 OEMs who will build devices equipped with the new SoC.     While we had assumed that Xiaomi would launch the Mi 11 sometime early next year, the company’s co-founder Mr. Lei Jun has now confirmed that the flagship device will be announced later this month. In a recent post on Chinese social media platform Weibo, Mr. Jun announced that the Xiaomi Mi 11 will be released on December 28th at 7:30 PM. While the post reveals no specific information about the Mi 11, it suggests that the device will pack many surprises.

    iPhone 12 was the best-selling 5G smartphone in the world in October despite being on sale for just two weeks, according to research firm Counterpoint. The report tracks market share of the top 10 5G smartphone models globally, and found that the iPhone 12 captured 16 percent market share in just two weeks of sales, followed by iPhone 12 Pro at 8 percent, pushing Samsung to third place with only 4 percent marketshare for the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G. Apple typically launches its new iPhone models in September, but the iPhone 12 series launch was delayed to October this year. The phones went on sale halfway through the month, but saw huge demand, with the iPhone 12’s sales in two weeks being strong enough to put it into the ten top selling 5G phones since January.

    Apple launched the iPhone 12₹ 76,900 series in October. It includes iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini₹ 69,900, iPhone 12 Pro₹ 119,900, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro were up for pre-orders first and were made available in mid-October. But even though the two phones were on sale for only two weeks in the month, the report by Counterpoint states the iPhone 12 became the best-selling 5G phone in the world with 16 percent market share, followed by the iPhone 12 Pro’s 8 percent.

  • Xiaomi announces Mi 11 launch date

    Xiaomi has finally announced the launch date for Mi 11 series. The new flagships will be the first to bring the Snapdragon 888 processor to the market on December 28.

    Xiaomi revealed the Mi 11 launch date on Chinese social media platform Weibo. A poster shared by the company confirms that the launch will take place in China at 7:30 PM local time (6:30 AM ET). Pre-bookings for the phone have already started in the country.

    There’s still no word on a global launch date for the Mi 11 series, but we expect it won’t be far behind. That said, we don’t expect the series to become available outside of China before January 2021.

    It was previously tipped that the Mi 11 lineup would launch on December 29. However, the leak did not confirm if it’s a global launch date or a China-only timeline.

    Nevertheless, we expect to see the Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro models during Xiaomi’s launch event on its home turf. There isn’t much out there in terms of credible rumors, but we did see some images of the alleged Mi 11 floating about online.
