Manipur’s security apparatus delivered a resounding success against insurgents with seven arrests and a trove of arms seized in joint raids spanning February 1-7. Spear Corps of the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and state police swept through key districts like Imphal West and East, Thoubal, Tengnoupal, Bishnupur, and Pherzawl on solid intel leads.

A whopping 18 firearms, along with explosives and combat materials, were confiscated, crippling multiple outfits. The first catch on February 1 involved Assam Rifles and Thoubal commandos detaining a KYKL operative in Mayang Imphal area, recovering digital devices.

Escalation peaked on February 2 with a hideout bust near Tonglhang village, unearthing an AK-47, pistols, rifles, radio sets, 18 IEDs, and munitions—all expertly defused. Separate actions in Kakwa and Lambel netted two PLA cadres with communication tools and IDs.

February 3 brought further wins: Loktak Lake vicinity raids yielded carbines, multiple pistols, grenades, bombs, ammo, and sniper optics. Imphal West’s Lambel search added rifles, pistols, cartridges, and grenades. In border-hotspot T’Minow, Tengnoupal, an ambush attempt was thwarted, leading to AK-56 and M4 rifle recoveries.

The dragnet continued with a PREPAK (Progressive) arrest in Pungdongbam on February 5, UNLF (Koireng) in Singjamei on the 6th, and dual PREPAK (Progressive) captures on the 7th en route Andro-Wangkhem-Irilbung and Senjam Khunou.

Security sources hailed the ops as pivotal in curbing violence, pledging sustained collaboration to safeguard Manipur’s stability.
