Bajaj Auto, one of the world’s largest two-wheeler companies, has announced price reductions for its vehicles in India before the implementation of GST 2.0.
KTM is reportedly developing a new 500cc twin-cylinder platform, with an adventure and naked bike already in the works. Now, a faired RC model has also been seen undergoing testing. Motorrad magazine’s images indicate the RC is nearing production. The engine is suspected to come from CFMoto, as is the primary chassis. The exhaust downpipes on the test model closely resemble those on CFMoto bikes. This suggests the potential for a KTM RC 490. The current RC 390 still uses an older 373cc engine, fueling speculation that KTM is looking for a new engine for the next-generation RC. The possibility of an India launch for the RC 490 is currently uncertain. This uncertainty raises questions about its potential availability and pricing in the Indian market, especially if it’s manufactured by CFMoto and whether it will be assembled locally.

Images released by Motorrad magazine suggest the RC is nearing production. The engine is believed to originate from CFMoto, with the primary chassis also potentially sourced from the same manufacturer. The exhaust downpipes resemble those on CFMoto models. This could indicate the model will be called the KTM RC 490. Given the current RC 390 uses an older engine, KTM may be looking for a new engine for the next-generation RC.

KTM appears to be developing a new 500cc twin-cylinder platform for adventure and naked bikes. A faired RC model has also been seen undergoing testing, which is not entirely unexpected. Reports suggest the new twin-cylinder RC might utilize an engine from CF Moto. The Duke 500 and the adventure bike with a twin-cylinder engine were seemingly raw prototypes, while the RC appears closer to production. Images released by Motorrad magazine show the bike in a near-finished state. The engine of the KTM RC 490 seems to be sourced from CFMoto, including the primary chassis. Due to the full fairing of this bike, much of the engine is concealed, however, the visible exhaust downpipes closely resemble those on CFMoto models. Comparing the parallel-twin design from CFMoto to the KTM prototypes, the engine layout differs significantly. Therefore, there is a strong possibility that this model could be branded as the KTM RC 490. It is believed the motorcycle is built on the CFMoto platform, separate from the other two KTM bikes. As the current KTM RC 390 continues to use the outdated 373cc engine, a new power source for the next-generation RC may be in development. Details about the changes are speculative, based on the spotted sports bike.

KTM has launched its most affordable motorcycle in India, the new 160 Duke, with an ex-showroom price of ₹1.85 lakh. This model marks the brand’s most budget-friendly offering and sits…

KTM has launched its most affordable motorcycle in India, the new 160 Duke, with an ex-showroom price of ₹1.85 lakh. This model marks the brand’s most budget-friendly offering and sits below the KTM 200 Duke in the lineup. The bike is poised to compete with the Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Yamaha MT-15 V2.0, and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

Currently, KTM India’s portfolio includes the KTM 1390 Super Duke R, KTM 890 Duke R, KTM 390 Duke, KTM 250 Duke, and KTM 200 Duke. The KTM 125 Duke was previously sold but discontinued in March 2025. The 160 Duke is the latest addition to this range.

**Price and Warranty**

The KTM 160 Duke is priced at ₹1.85 lakh (ex-showroom). The company is offering a 10-year warranty with the bike, and various financing options will be available. Deliveries to dealerships are scheduled to commence from August 12th. The company emphasizes that this is not merely a regular motorcycle but a sporty bike. Sales of the Duke series have already seen significant growth, which is expected to further increase with the introduction of the 160 Duke. Additionally, the company is working on the RC 160, which will be the brand’s most affordable RC bike and is expected to launch in a few weeks.

**Design and Features**

KTM states that the new 160 Duke has been designed following the brand’s core philosophy. It is a 160cc naked bike that combines high performance with a premium, sporty look. The bike features the signature KTM LED headlamp, sharp tank covers, a wide fuel tank, a sleek tail section, and LED taillights. Color options include Orange-Black and Blue-White (with orange highlights). The bike is equipped with a 5.0-inch LCD instrument cluster that supports smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call receiving, and music playback.

**Engine and Power**

The new 160 Duke is touted as one of the most powerful 160cc bikes in India. It is powered by a 160cc liquid-cooled engine, derived from the 200 Duke platform. This engine delivers 18.74 bhp of power and 15.5 Nm of torque. The same engine and chassis will also be used in the upcoming KTM RC 160. The bike features USD front forks and a mono-shock at the rear. For braking, it has a 320 mm disc brake at the front and a 230 mm disc brake at the rear.

Bajaj is set to update the KTM 390 Adventure X with electronic riding aids, mirroring features found in the fully-equipped version of the 390 Adventure. Dealerships have ceased accepting bookings…

Bajaj is set to update the KTM 390 Adventure X with electronic riding aids, mirroring features found in the fully-equipped version of the 390 Adventure. Dealerships have ceased accepting bookings for the existing model, anticipating the updated 390 Adventure X to arrive in showrooms within weeks.

The 390 Adventure X will soon incorporate advanced electronic features and rider aids, previously exclusive to the top-tier model. This includes cornering ABS and traction control, facilitated by an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), as well as three riding modes: Rain, Street, and Off-road. These modes will adjust throttle sensitivity, power delivery, and the intervention of ABS and traction control.

Cruise control will also be integrated, offering a valuable feature for long-distance riding. Consequently, all new-generation 390cc KTM 390 models will include cruise control as standard. The bike will retain its existing mechanical components, including the non-adjustable long-travel suspension and the 19/17-inch cast alloy wheels. The 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine will maintain its performance output, delivering 46 HP and 39 NM.

The current price of the KTM 390 Adventure X is Rs 2.91 lakh, available in orange and white. The addition of new features is expected to cause a price increase of approximately Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. The updated KTM 390 Adventure X is poised to become a more comprehensive package.
