  • Chhattisgarh gets 2.23 lakh Kovishield in fifth batch,

    The fifth consignment of the Corona vaccine arrived in the capital on Thursday 11 February by a special aircraft of IndiGo. The central government has provided two lakh 23 thousand 500 covisheeled corona vaccines in 19 boxes to the state. Explain that earlier two consignments of covaxine were sent. In this regard, the Health Minister had written a letter from the Prime Minister to Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, asking him not to make the cocaine available without completing the trial.

    It is being said that only after this the consignment of Kovishield has been sent to the state. So far, 3.23 Lakh Kovshield in the first lot, 2.65 Lakh Kovshield in the second lot, 37 thousand Kovaxin in the third lot, 34 thousand Kovaxin consignment in the fourth batch.

  • First consignment of Corona vaccine reached Narayanpur

    The first consignment of Corona vaccine has arrived in Narayanpur district today. The vaccine received as the first consignment has been kept in the storage center at District Hospital. The Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. AR Gota said that 1680 doses of ‘Kovishield’ made by the Serum Institute of India have been received by the district, the remaining dose will be provided by the State Office. 2304 health workers in the district will be given a ‘Kovishield’ vaccine dose. Vaccination work will be done in the district through 9 cold point chains. Preparations have been made to vaccinate people in all these centers. Initially, the first dose of ‘Kovishield’ vaccine will be applied in the Kovid Vaccination Center at District Hospital. It is noteworthy that this vaccination is being done to prevent corona infection and to break its link. Health workers frequently come in contact with patients, which increases the likelihood of infection in its community. To break this link, this vaccine is being given to the health workers first. Vaccination of security personnel and cleaning personnel such as frontliners will also be done. Adequate arrangements have been made for transportation and storage of these vaccines as per the protocol set by the Health Department. Mockdrills for vaccination in the centers and rehearsal to deal with emergencies have also been done. Separate arrangements have been made to send the vaccine from the main storage center to the vaccination center. The management system has been strengthened from the state level to the vaccination sites for the management of any kind of adverse event or emergency after vaccination. All vaccination centers have been connected to the nearest AEFI management system.

  • Bastar reached the first batch of Corona vaccine

    The first consignment of Corona vaccine has arrived in Bastar district on Friday. The vaccine received as the first consignment has been kept in the storage center at Maharani Hospital. Dr. RK Chaturvedi, Chief Medical and Health Officer said that 5440 doses of ‘Kovishield’ made by Serum Institute of India have been received in the district. Personnel and frontline workers in the health sector will be vaccinated. The vaccination campaign will begin on January 16 with vaccines to health workers in six locations in the district. Vaccination work will be done at Community Health Center Bastanar, Bakavand, Bastar, Nangur, BSC Nursing College Jagdalpur and Medical College Dimarapal. Preparations have been made to vaccinate 100-100 people in all these centers. It is noteworthy that this vaccination is being done to prevent corona infection and to break its link. Health workers frequently come in contact with patients, which increases the likelihood of infection in its community. To break this link, this vaccine is being given to the health workers first. Immunization of security personnel and sweepers such as frontliners will also be done. As per the protocol set by the Health Department, adequate arrangements have been made to transport and store these vaccines. Jagdalpur for vaccination at all centers and rehearsal to deal with emergencies have also been done. An insulated vaccine van has been arranged to send the vaccine from the main storage center to the vaccination center. The AEFI & Adverse Event Following Immunization management system has been strengthened from the state level to the immunization sites to manage any adverse event or emergency after vaccination. All vaccination centers have been linked to the nearest AEFI management system such as medical colleges, district hospitals or community health centers.

  • First batch of vaccine reached Raipur, preparations for Health Department completed

    The first batch of vaccine has landed at Mana Airport in the capital. It is being told that in a while, the airport will be sent to the State Vaccine Center. 27 boxes of vaccine have arrived in the first batch. Here, complete preparations have been made in the state regarding vaccination. In the first phase, corona vaccine will be applied to the health sector personnel and frontline workers in Chhattisgarh. According to protocol, the Health Department has made strong arrangements for distribution, transport and storage of these vaccines in all districts of the state. Mockdrills for vaccination in all districts and rehearsal to deal with emergencies have also been done. In the first batch, three lakh 23 thousand vaccines of the Kovishield manufactured by the Serum Institute of India are being provided by the Government of India to Chhattisgarh. These vaccines are certified by ICMR. One state level, three regional and 27 district level cold chain points have been created to send vaccines to the districts. There are currently 630 functional cold chain points and more than 85 thousand liters of cold chain space for safe storage and transport of vaccines in the state. Along with this, 81 additional cold chain points have also been established. There are 1311 cold-boxes available for transport of the vaccine. For the storage of syringes, needles and other materials, 360 dry-storage has also been made across the state.

  • CDSCO approves emergency use of Corona Vaccine Kovishield

    Emergency use of Corona vaccine Kovishield has been approved in the country. Corona vaccination campaign will be started in India from 6 January. The Kovishield vaccine to be made at the Serum Institute of India has been approved by the Expert Committee of the Central Drug Standards Control Organization.

    However, the Kovishield vaccine is yet to get the final approval from the Drug Controller of India. The Serum Institute of India is preparing the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in India.

    The 10-member Subject Expert Committee of India’s Central Drug Standards Control Organization on Friday approved the Emergency Use Authority of the Oxfodz-AstraZeneca Coronavirus Vaccine Covishield. The expert panel convened a meeting on behalf of the Serum Institute of India to decide on the Emergency Use Authority sought by Kovshield and Bharat Biotech for covacine.

    Once the way has been cleared for the vaccine from the committee, the application for final approval will be sent to DCGI VG Somani. The Health Ministry said that the decision on Bharat Biotech’s covarine is still awaited.

    Significantly, on December 6, the Serum Institute of India applied to the DCGI for obtaining formal approval for the emergency use of the Kovid-19 vaccine Kovishield of Oxford in India. Earlier, DCGI VG Somani indicated that Kovid-19 vaccine could come in India in the new year.
