The event included an online viewing of a ceremony in Ranchi, where the executive chairman of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority inaugurated the Mother Teresa Clinic and distributed benefits related to medical facilities and other schemes to senior citizens. This highlighted a broader commitment to elderly welfare across the state.

Presiding over the camp, the Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Balkrishna Tiwari, emphasized the moral duty of all citizens to respect their elders. He affirmed the authority’s dedication to safeguarding the rights and fundamental freedoms of senior citizens, ensuring they are not infringed upon. Judge Tiwari stressed that true progress is impossible without honoring parents and elders, expressing pride in the authority’s role in supporting them.

He further urged the younger generation to learn from and respect the guidance of seniors, paying attention to their needs. Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Gautam Kumar, assured that the authority is always ready to provide free legal services to protect the rights of the elderly. He pledged to do everything possible to ensure the comfort and provide all necessary assistance to the residents of the old age home.

The Health Department of Koderma conducted comprehensive medical examinations for all residents. The Principal District Judge instructed the attending doctors and healthcare staff to ensure regular health check-ups and provide necessary medications. He also met with the elderly residents, inquired about their well-being, and inspected the facilities. Additionally, a joint effort by the District Legal Services Authority and the District Administration provided blankets, shawls, caps, woolen clothes, sweets, and other essential items to the senior citizens.

The children observed and learned about the processes involved in organic fertilizer production, milk extraction, green fodder cultivation, and the packaging and storage of dairy products. They also gained knowledge about the machinery used at the shelter, including tractors, auto-rickshaws, and fodder cutting machines.

A group of students, including Sanskriti Kumari, Arohi Arya, Sagar Satyam, Naina, Suhani, Tushar Kumar, and Ayushi Sinha, engaged with the shelter’s secretary, Arun Modi. They posed a variety of questions concerning the sale of organic fertilizer, the shelter’s equipment, and the construction of buildings for housing cows and staff remuneration.

Arun Modi patiently addressed each query, providing the students with comprehensive details about the Koderma Cow Shelter’s mission and daily functions. To acknowledge the school’s participation, educators were presented with mementos and samples of organic fertilizer. Representatives from the school included Vikas Kumar Yadav, Rima Chatterjee, Neetu Kumari, and Priyanshu Deep. The cow shelter was represented by Anant Chandra, Saurav Mishra, Manoj Choubey, Mantu, and Kishan Yadav.

Representatives from the Brahma Kumari organization, including central in-charge Rama Kumari, V.K. Kusum who led a session on meditation, and Vinita Ji who focused on stress management techniques, shared insightful information with the students. They elaborated on the various forms of stress that students encounter and offered practical strategies for overcoming them.

A key takeaway from the session was the importance of open communication. Students were encouraged to talk to their parents and teachers about any difficulties or anxieties they might be facing. Seeking advice and listening to the guidance of trusted adults was highlighted as a crucial step in stress reduction. The evening commenced with a Ganesh Vandana, beautifully sung by Munna Bhadani. Vinod Chaurasia then ignited the crowd with popular devotional songs, compelling devotees to sway to the music. A series of captivating bhajans followed, with performances by Raja Chaurasia, Anuradha Singh, Kshama Sonkar, and Anand Singh. The musical accompaniment, featuring organ by Vishal Kapshima, dholak by Bablu Pandey, and other instruments played by visiting artists, significantly amplified the event’s magnificence.

After the evening Aarti, a special offering was made to Goddess Kali, followed by an elaborate feast (‘Bhandara’) that served thousands of devotees. The air was filled with ecstatic chants of ‘Jai Kali Maa’, enhancing the devotional ambiance.

This annual celebration is organized with deep faith and dedication to spread messages of spirituality, unity, and harmony within the community. The Kali Puja rituals were expertly conducted by the temple priest, Vijaykant Upadhyay, who also initiated the proceedings with the sacred flame of Goddess Kali.
