A special parliamentary session kicks off April 16, spotlighting the Women’s Reservation Bill that promises 33% seats for women. Delhi Government Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa celebrated it as India’s most luminous historical milestone, a game-changer for gender equality in governance.

Speaking candidly, Sirsa asserted there’s no better way to bolster women than this reservation. ‘Our bahens and betis were always left behind; now they get their due share,’ he rejoiced, hailing the moment as epoch-making.

Drawing from PM Modi’s insightful article, Sirsa highlighted the leader’s vision for ‘Nari Shakti.’ The Prime Minister views the bill as more than law—it’s empowerment fuel for women’s dreams, ensuring their vital role in decision-making. ‘A developed India in the 21st century demands women’s parity in policy,’ Modi wrote, urging unity beyond partisan politics for the nation’s future. Sirsa echoed that a strong woman is the foundation of a prosperous India.

On Kanhaiya Kumar’s controversial statement, Sirsa didn’t mince words: ‘Such vulgar language and petty jabs have no room in politics. It’s a shameful display of poor character.’

Shifting to agriculture, Sirsa commended the Kisan Samman Nidhi, proof of PM Modi’s deep respect for farmers. ‘He provides real aid with honor,’ Sirsa noted, applauding the scheme’s impact.

This bill isn’t just policy—it’s a democratic revolution, positioning women as architects of India’s growth story.

Nine transformative years under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have rewritten Uttar Pradesh’s agricultural narrative. Farmers, once burdened by debt and uncertainty, now wield unprecedented power and prosperity, courtesy of bold policy interventions.

The journey started with dismantling systemic bottlenecks. Massive investments totaling Rs 1.5 lakh crore in irrigation projects like the Saryu Canal and broadening of the Upper Ganga Canal have irrigated millions of additional hectares.

Direct Benefit Transfer schemes have revolutionized subsidy delivery. Fertilizer, seeds, and equipment subsidies reach farmers’ accounts instantly, eliminating corruption. The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, amplified by state schemes, injects Rs 6,000 crore annually into rural economies.

UP’s pivot to high-value agriculture is remarkable. Potato production doubled through climate-resilient varieties and advanced storage facilities. Medicinal plants cultivation across 2 lakh hectares has opened herbal export avenues worth Rs 5,000 crore.

Digital agriculture platforms like Kisan e-Mitra provide real-time advisories on weather, market prices, and pest attacks. Over 2.5 crore farmers registered on these portals receive tailored recommendations via SMS and apps.

Women farmers haven’t been left behind. Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran schemes offer training in modern techniques and preferential credit access. Self-help groups manage 10,000+ vermicompost units, generating supplementary income.

Infrastructure boom includes 50 new agri-export zones and 200 cold storages with 20 million MT capacity. This infrastructure cuts wastage to under 10%, boosting farmer realization by 25-30%.

Crisis management sets UP apart. During pandemic lockdowns, the government procured 80 lakh MT of wheat and paddy at MSP through digital platforms, ensuring no farmer was stranded. Flood-resistant crops and early warning systems mitigate climate risks.

Economic indicators shine bright: Agri exports crossed Rs 40,000 crore last year, rural electrification reached 100%, and mechanization levels jumped from 30% to 65%. Yogi’s vision of ‘Labharti Kheti’ – profitable farming – is now reality.

As Uttar Pradesh marches toward its $1 trillion economy goal, agriculture remains the solid foundation, powered by empowered annadatas whose strengthened resolve mirrors their leader’s determination.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bhagalpur today, where he will release the 19th instalment of Kisan Samman Nidhi, prioritising the welfare, happiness, and prosperity of farmers. PM Modi will…

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bhagalpur today, where he will release the 19th instalment of Kisan Samman Nidhi, prioritising the welfare, happiness, and prosperity of farmers. PM Modi will also address a public rally ahead of the 2025 Bihar elections at the Airport Ground.Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will accompany the Prime Minister, and the rally is expected to witness the participation of around 5 lakh farmers. The event will include the distribution of Kisan Samman Nidhi and a public meeting. As part of the program, Prime Minister Modi will release the 19th instalment of Kisan Samman Nidhi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shahnawaz Hussain had told that the rally will witness the presence of senior NDA leaders and people from 13 districts, including Bhagalpur, Munger, Begusarai, and others
BJP leaders are optimistic about winning over 200 seats in Bihar, citing the strong NDA alliance and the double-engine government under the leadership of PM Modi and Nitish Kumar. “Just like Delhi, we will win the upcoming Bihar elections too,” Hussain said.
The BJP, JD(U), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustan Awam Morcha and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha are constituents of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar.Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bihar. He alleged that it was motivated by upcoming elections, where assembly elections are due in November-December this year.Yadav questioned the PM’s contributions to Bihar, highlighting the fact that Patna University was not granted Central University status despite 11 years in power. He expressed scepticism about the government’s commitment to the state’s development.
“PM Modi, his ministers, people from his party will always come to Bihar whenever there is an election here… If he couldn’t give the status to Patna University as a Central University in 11 years, what else can we expect?” said the RJD leader.

Earlier, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav downplayed the impact of the Delhi election results on Bihar, asserting that the BJP stands no chance of forming a government in the state.

Speaking to the media, Yadav claimed that the people have now recognised the Bharatiya Janata Party.”There will be no impact. How can they form the government? Can the BJP form the government while we are here? The people have now recognised the BJP,” Lalu Yadav said.

The Bihar Legislative Assembly election for all 243 constituencies is scheduled to be held in October or November this year. The last assembly elections were held in October-November 2020.
