  • Chhattisgarh State Women’s Commission will hear cases on January 18 in Jagdalpur

  • Office of SCW to be shifted to SEC premises

    The office of State Commission for Women (SCW) located at Jal Vihar Colony will be shifted to the office of the State Election Commission (SEC) located near Shastri Chowk, Raipur soon. SCW Chairperson Kiranmayi Nayak inspected the office of the State Election Commission on Friday. Keeping in view the lack of space for hearing of case, Chairperson Kiranmayi Nayak had requested Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to allot one of the vacant buildings in the state to the SCW. The present building of the SCW is a rented building. The office of the State Election Commission, which has been shifted to Nava Raipur, should be allotted to the SCW. On the request of Kiranmayi Nayak, the Chief Minister has directed the officers to allott 14 rooms of the State Election Commission office at Shastri Chowk to the SCW. This office is located on main route and it is easily accessible to the people. State Election Commissioner Thakur Ram Singh, Abhay Dewangan, advocate Shamim Rahman, Vinod Nayak and others were present on the occasion.

  • Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women, President advised women to refrain from submitting false cases

    Public hearing on cases related to female harassment was held in Bilaspur on Thursday by Dr. Smriti Kiranmayi Nayak, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women. In the first day of the two-day hearing, 20 cases were kept in which 7 cases were resolved on the spot. Dr. Smriti Nayak advised women to refrain from presenting false cases.     The hearings held in Prayer Sabha Bhawan mainly involved hearing of cases related to assault, mental harassment, harassment at workplace, dowry harassment, torture and physical torture. An applicant, a resident of Bilaspur, had complained before the Commission against her mother-in-law. Her mother-in-law is threatening her husband as well as her maternal grandfather.
