  • World should stop judging Will Smith for slapping Chris Rock: Kevin Hart

    By IANS

LOS ANGELES: Actor Kevin Hart continues defending Hollywood star Will Smith in the wake of the Oscars slap.

In a new interview, the comedian insinuated that his friend deserves a shot at redemption and that people should stop judging Will after slapping Chris Rock, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Sitting down with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN on Revolt’s ‘Drink Champs’, Kevin was asked during a round of Quicktime or Slime who he’d choose between Ice Cube or Will Smith.

Carefully picking his words, the ‘Ride Along’ star deliberately responded, “Dark times deserve f**king great light. I’m not going to s**t on my brother. They both are my brothers, but I’m not going to take time to s**t on them.”

Making his choice, the 43-year-old said, “I’m going to say Will Smith and here’s why: Will Smith is not only a legend, he’s not only a GOAT…” When N.O.R.E. interrupted him to call Will “a gangster” for slapping Rock, Hart seemed to disagree saying, “Those are your words, not mine.”

Hart went on to praise Smith: “Will Smith is the reason why the idea of African Americans (being) attached to global IP is normal. Studios took the gamble on more leads of colour because of the work that Will Smith and (Denzel Washington) were on in the beginning.”

He added, “You need the faces that are giving a universal return. I’m not going to s**t on Will and act like he wasn’t that guy.”

As for the aftermath of the Oscars slap, Kevin weighed in, “People make mistakes, and from mistakes, they should be allowed time to recover.”

He went on noting that Smith and Rock should figure things out between them privately, stressing, “And that this is no longer the world’s problem. It’s Will and Chris’ problem, and let them deal with that. The world should step out of it.”

Hart previously said that Will is “apologetic” and in a “better space” months after his controversial behaviour at the awards-giving event.

Interestingly, Hart also maintains a good friendship with Rock. In the same month, he and the Amsterdam star co-headlined a comedy show at Madison Square Garden in NYC, during which Dave Chappelle opened for them.

  • Cameron Diaz opens up about stepping away from acting

    By ANI

WASHINGTON: During a sit-down interview with actor-comedian Kevin Hart on Thursday for his Peacock talk show, ‘Hart to Heart,’ Hollywood star Cameron Diaz opened up about how acting occupied much of her life which ultimately led her to take a step back and reevaluate everything.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “When you do something at a really high level for a long period of time, you’re the person who’s the talent, all parts of you that isn’t, that has to sort of be handed off to other people,” the 48-year-old explained.

She went on to explain that from the spotlight perspective, it’s as if she was “a machine” but for her “personal spiritual self” she realized when she was 40-years-old that the part of her that “functioned at a high level wasn’t enough.”

Diaz also reiterated that though she has a “love” for acting, there were “so many parts” of her life that she “wasn’t touching” and “wasn’t managing.”

“For me, I just really wanted to make my life manageable by me. My routine in a day is literally what I can manage to do by myself. It’s the best feeling,” she explained.

After embracing a more simplistic life rather than having “blinders on” and constantly feeling as if she was “going going going”, Diaz says, “I feel whole.”

She also said that during her time away from the spotlight she met her now-husband and has since started a family, “all those things I didn’t have time for before.”

Diaz married her husband Benji Madden in January 2015. Last year, the couple announced the birth of their daughter Raddix Madden.

Her last acting credit was in the 2014 remake of ‘Annie’, in which she starred as Miss Hannigan. Diaz also reflected about retiring from acting during a discussion with Gwyneth Paltrow for ‘In Goop Health’. She has since launched her own wine brand called Avaline.

  • Kevin Hart reveals how his daughter reacted to his cheating scandal

    By ANI
WASHINGTON: Actor and comedian Kevin Hart got candid about the tough conversations he has had with his teenage daughter following his cheating scandal.

As per E! News, Hart joined Will Smith for a special Father’s Day edition of ‘Red Table Talk’ on Facebook Watch on Sunday where he reflected on the impacts of his cheating scandal and the controversy that led him to step down from being the Oscars host had on his children.

In the candid conversation, Hart opened up about his relationship with his father, his first divorce, and how he addressed being at the centre of scandals with his children including teens Heaven and Hendrix shared with ex-wife Torrei and Kenzo and Kaori with his wife Eniko Parrish.

“I stepped in some shit, yeah,” Hart said when Smith asked him how he addresses public scandals with his family.

He added, “You’re never prepared for that side of it. I can say having a little girl in my life, it’s tough. You don’t realize the impact that your mistakes could truly have.”

He went on to say that it’s a “different emotion” when kids are involved.

“Through my public debacles, I got on some armor. It’s very hard to shoot through this… it’s very hard to bother me,” Hart said.

Hart added, “But when your child shows disappointment, shows emotion, shows ‘I don’t understand why?’ and you got to have those conversations, well now head drops for the first time.”

He said that his kids pulled “a different emotional cord” on him, in particular, his daughter after Hart’s admission of cheating on his wife Eniko Parrish.

“My talk with Heaven… that was one like no other,” Hart told Smith.

“Getting my daughter back, getting my daughter to understand that I was sorry, that I made a mistake… My daughter was tough on me. Until this day, my daughter is tough on me,” he said of his 16-year-old daughter.

Speaking on his experiences, Smith shared that he and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith tell their kids everything to “get out ahead of it.”

“The kids know before the world knows,” Smith said. But Hart noted that he, unfortunately, has “never been able to get to the kids first.”

In addition to the cheating scandal, Hart received backlash after old tweets surfaced in which Hart expressed anti-gay sentiments and used homophobic terminology and slurs. As a result, Hart eventually stepped down as Oscars host.

“When the whole thing started to happen with the LGBTQ+ community and the misconception of me, what I was and what I am and what I feel, my daughter was so upset because she couldn’t process how people could think this about her father,” Hart said.

The actor added, “It was so tough because this was when I started to realize how my fame has an impact on my household. There is a certain level of obliviousness.”

He continued to admit that his daughter also “checked” him and had a conversation with him about being mindful of the things he says in public.

“Now I can honestly say the relationships have improved because I’m now aware of the shit that I could’ve done to bring havoc or bring problem,” he said.

He also said despite a lot of people wanting “this seat,” they don’t realize “what comes with this seat.” “The things you say and you gotta be aware… that to me is the hardest shit in the world because you’re starting to realize the lives that are affected by the way that you move.”

As he moves forward, Hart acknowledged that at 41-years-old, he’s “getting older” and “more mature” and has learned the importance of listening: “I was a late bloomer to the listening side of it. I was a talk to say what I want to say… I wish that I would’ve arrived at this space in my earlier years and I just want to be able to handle a lot of situations differently.”

Throughout their conversation, Smith and Hart also discussed the values of fatherhood, their own upbringings with their fathers, fathering styles and navigating their daughters’ dating.

Smith and Hart’s full ‘Red Table Talk’ episode is available to stream on Facebook Watch.
