     Kejriwal is holding a one-day fast in support of the farmers’ protest today. While addressing the people at the hunger strike Kejriwal said that Our farmers are in peril these days. Those who should be tilling their fields are sitting in the biting cold. But I’m happy people in the country including the army, lawyers, actors, doctors, are with them. We are with farmers too.

    Senior Delhi government ministers and AAP MLAs, including Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, are sitting on a ‘hunger strike’ in support of farmers who are protesting against the Centre’s farm laws. Ministers Satyendar Jain, Gopal Rai, and party leader Aatishi Marlena are also present at the strike organised at the party headquarters.

    This comes after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had announced a one-day fast in support of the farmers’ protest on Sunday.

    Supporting the call given by the agitating farmers, he had urged AAP volunteers to join the farmers’ agitation. “Centre should immediately accept all demands of farmers protesting the laws and bring a bill to guarantee MSP (minimum support price),” Kejriwal had said.

     Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday slammed Punjab Chief Minister Captain (retired) Amarinder Singh stating that from the beginning he was standing in support of the farmers.

    In a tweet in Hindi, citing a media report Kejriwal said, “Captain ji from the beginning I am standing with the farmers. I fought with the Centre and did now allow the stadiums in Delhi to become jails. I am serving the farmers.

    ”Levelling allegations against the Punjab Chief Minister, Kejriwal asked, “You have done setting with the Centre to get the ED case on your son forgiven, sold the farmers agitation? Why?”

    In another tweet, Kejriwal said, “Fast is pious. Wherever you are, do fast for farmers. Pray to God for the success of their struggle. In the end, the victory will be of farmers.”

    Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister had targeted his Delhi counterpart Kejriwal for exploiting the ongoing agitation of the farmers to further the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) petty electoral agenda in Punjab with “blatant lies and brazenly false propaganda”. Cornering Kejriwal, the Punjab Chief Minister went on to call the AAP chief a “shameless liar”.

  • Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai tests positive for COVID-19

    Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has tested positive for coronavirus. Rai took to Twitter to announce this Rai is the Minister for Employment, Development, Labour, General Administration and Irrigation in the Arvind Kejriwal government.

    “I got a coronavirus test was done after experiencing initial symptoms. My report shows I am Covid-positive. I urge all those who came in contact with me over the last few days to get tested and please take care of themselves,” Mr Rai wrote in Hindi.

    Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Health Minister Satyendar Jain had been infected with the coronavirus.

    Delhi reported 5,246 new COVID19 cases, 5,361 recoveries, and 99 deaths on Wednesday. The total positive cases in the national capital have reached 5,45,787, including 4,98,780 recoveries, 38,287 active cases, and 8,720 deaths.

On Monday, the representatives of the Delhi government went to the office of the Air Quality Commission set up by the central government and made their point.

    The central government has created an Air Quality Commission (AQC) on the issue of pollution rising in Delhi due to burning of stubble in Punjab and Haryana. Atishi, chairperson of the Environment Committee of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, said, “The committee has met the commission to demand accountability of the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Haryana for burning stubble and taking action against them by filing a case. The governments of Haryana have also been requested to issue an order to resolve the straw with bio decomposer technology. ” Kejriwal has demanded intervention from the PM on this issue.

At the same time, the state government has been instructed to take strict action on the application of masks. The penalty for not wearing a mask has been increased from 200 to 500 rupees.

  • Delhi government’s decision: Fines of Rs 2000 will be imposed without holding masks

    If a person is caught without a mask in Delhi, the government will impose a fine of Rs 2000.     Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that last week, after the permission of the court, 80 percent of the ICU beds of about 30-32 hospitals were identified for the corona, now this order is being applied to all private hospitals in Delhi. With this, 300-400 more ICU beds will be available in private hospitals. Apart from this, 50 percent of the normal beds were reserved for corona patients in private hospitals, which has now been increased to 60 percent.

    In the same way, all hospitals have been asked to stay for non-serious illness. The Delhi government is arranging 663 additional ICU beds inside its hospitals, the center has also assured to provide 750 ICU beds. Both 1413 and new ICU beds will be available.   • No fresh lockdown but local restrictions may be imposed in Delhi, says Satyendra Jain

    Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Wednesday said that there will be no lockdown in the national capital but there can be local restrictions at some busy places amid a third wave of Covid-19 infections.

    “There will be no lockdown in Delhi and there is no need of it either. We have learned the experience of lockdown. There is no need to repeat it. But there can be local restrictions at some busy places. Maximum tests are being conducted which we will further increase. The virus can easily spread due to large gatherings during Chhath Puja, hence the restrictions,” Satyendar Jain said

    Earlier this week, the Health Minister said that the third wave of COVID-19 has passed its peak in the national capital.On Tuesday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the Delhi government has sent a proposal to the Centre, that if needed, markets flouting safety protocols and emerging as COVID-19 hotspots, be closed for a few days.

    The Health Minister said that average 60,000 tests are being conducted in Delhi in the last two months.

    “In the last two months, on average 60,000 tests are being conducted. No other state is able to do 3,000 tests per million tests in the country except Delhi. We will not stop here and will increase it further. We will increase all types of tests including RT-PCR,” he said.

    He informed that Delhi reported 6,396 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday while the positivity rate was around 13 per cent.

    “Delhi reported 6,396 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, 50,000 tests were conducted. The positivity rate was around 13 per cent. 99 people died on Tuesday and the death ratio is 1.58 per cent. In Delhi, 9,200 beds are occupied and 7,600 are vacant,” Jain said.

    Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that the Covid-19 situation can come under control in seven to ten days as the government will be taking several steps by next week.
