  • Prajwal Revanna taken to hospital for medical examination

    Suspended JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, facing allegations of sexually abusing several women, was taken to hospital for medical examination under tight security on Friday, police said. Escorted by female police officials, he was taken to Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital here.

    The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the allegations against Prajwal arrested him as soon as he landed at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru in the wee hours of Friday.

    The 33 year-old MP, who arrived from Germany’s Munich, was taken to the CID office for interrogation, sources in the SIT said. The SIT is also contemplating a potency test on Prajwal.     Prajwal, grandson of Deve Gowda and the BJP-JD(S) alliance candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha segment, is facing charges of sexually abusing many women. He has been so far booked in three cases of sexual assault.

  • JD(S) MLA HD Revanna Gets Interim Bail In Sexual Harassment Case |

    New Delhi: Janata Dal (Secular)  MLA and former Karnataka Minister HD Revanna was granted an interim bail from Bengaluru court in connection with a sexual harassment case.

    Bengaluru court granted bail till Friday, shortly after obtaining conditional bail in connection with a Kidnapping case related to the ‘obscene video’ case. JD(S) leader HD Revanna filed a bail petition in a sexual harassment case on Thursday.

    The 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court (ACMM) granted interim bail and said that the main bail plea will be heard on Friday at 3 pm. While the Special Investigation Team (SIT) contented that JD(S) MLA’s bail plea should be dismissed. 

    SP Jayna Kothari requested the judicial custody of the accused, JD(S) MLA Revanna, in the case. As per ANI, Revanna’s advocate Arun, said, “This is a bailable case.”

  • Special Court grants bail to JDS MLA Revanna in abduction case

    A special court for people’s representatives in Bengaluru on Monday granted bail to senior JDS MLA HD Revanna after concluding a hearing on his bail petition.Judge Santhosh Gajanana Bhat pronounced the order in the evening after hearing senior advocate CV Nagesh, appearing for Revanna, and additional special public prosecutors (SPPs) Jayana Kothari and Ashok N Nayak appearing for the special investigation team (SIT) which is probing the alleged abuse of women by Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna.The Judge granted bail on condition that the accused would furnish a bond for Rs 5 lakh, along with two sureties. He is barred from leaving the country, entering KR Nagar in Mysuru district, and interacting with the witnesses. He has also been asked to cooperate with the SIT investigation.The SIT has arrested Revanna, who represents Holenarasipur in the Assembly, on the charge that he, along with others, abducted a rape victim from her KR Nagar home in Mysuru district.   • Lok Sabha elections: Amit Shah to hold road show during his day-long engagement in Karnataka tomorrow

    New Delhi: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah is all set to fulfill a range of obligations in Karnataka, including participating in a road show, scheduled for Tuesday.

    During his day-long busy schedule, Shah will address the Sakti Kendra Pramukh Sammelan at Palace Ground in Bengaluru on Tuesday morning. The event is aimed at bolstering grassroots leadership and organizational strength ahead of Lok Sabha elections.

    The BJP has fielded its candidates in 25 Lok Sabha constituencies and left three other seats for its ally JD (S) in the State.It has fielded JD(S) patriarch and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda’s son-in-law, C N Manjunath, from Bengaluru Rural constituency against three-time MP and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar’s brother, D K Suresh.The general elections in Karnataka will be held in two phases on April 26 and May 7 for 28 constituencies.
