  • Jared Leto wants a prequel to ‘House of Gucci’ with Al Pacino

    By PTI

Actor Jared Leto says he had so much fun while shooting for “House of Gucci” that he would love to collaborate with co-star Al Pacino on another film in the same universe, preferably a prequel.

The Ridley Scott-directed film, based on real events, can have a prequel, according to the Oscar-winning actor.

“I’d love to do a prequel to House of Gucci,” Leto said during a recent interview on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, citing his time on set working with Al Pacino as the motivating factor.

“Just the Two of Us, we could call it,” he added.

Leto played the role of Paolo with Pacino starring as his father Aldo in the movie.

The actor, who underwent a physical transformation to play Paolo, recalled how he tricked Pacino with his look.

“On the first day of set, he didn’t know it was me, and I came up to him and said, you know, ‘hello.’ And he just kind of brushed me off. He thought I was just an Italian weirdo that was trying to talk to him or get his autograph or something,” Leto said.

“I come up to him two or three times and someone finally whispered, ‘That’s Paolo, that’s Jared under there.’ And he was like, ‘My son, my son,’ and he fell to the floor. He was just astounded. Having that happen with one of the world’s greatest actors was a beautiful gift and gave me the faith that if Al can believe in this guy, then we all can. It was a boost of confidence early on, and I adored working with him,” he added.

“House of Gucci” is inspired by the real-life story of Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga), who married into the Gucci clan before her strained union to Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver) ultimately led the couple to divorce, after which Patrizia hired a hitman to murder her ex-husband with the help of her close friend, Pina (Salma Hayek).

Critics have been divided on the movie and Leto’s performance but the actor has picked up nominations for Best Supporting Actor at the Critics Choice Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

  • Jared Leto wants ‘Suicide Squad’ David Ayer cut released

    By ANI

WASHINGTON: Hollywood actor Jared Leto recently said he thinks it’s time that Warner Bros. should release filmmaker David Ayer’s cut of ‘Suicide Squad’.

Leto, who played the character of Joker in the 2016 movie, while talking to Variety at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘House of Gucci’ at the Academy Museum said, “Absolutely! Why not? Why wouldn’t they? Why wouldn’t they? I mean, that’s what streaming’s for, right?”

Ayer concurred with Leto on Twitter. “Exactly what streaming is for. If you own IP and you have a mandate to monetize it from your shareholders that’s exactly what you do,” he wrote, tagging Warner Bros. parent company AT&T.

In July, Ayer had first confirmed the existence of his cut of the film in a statement. Since then, fans have rallied to see Ayer’s version, which Ayer alleges is significantly different from the studio cut that debuted to negative reviews.

Ayer has occasionally commented since then, and on November 10 posted to his Instagram story an alternative look at Leto’s Joker, featuring a dramatic drawn-on smile and the words “hahaha” written where his eyebrows should be.

Leto isn’t the first actor involved with the IP to publicly state his support of the Ayer cut. Margot Robbie, John Cena and Joel Kinnaman made similar remarks at the August premiere of ‘The Suicide Squad’, James Gunn’s 2021 follow up to Ayer’s film.

“I think that’s all a very complicated situation that I am probably not responsible for,” said Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn in both Ayer’s and Gunn’s films.

She added, “I would want to see the cut of every movie I’ve been a part of that I’ve never seen. The funny thing is that when you’re an actor, not when you’re a producer, as an actor, sometimes I don’t see it until half the country has seen it. You don’t really get to see the different iterations along the way unless you’re a producer.”

John Cena, who plays Peacemaker in Gunn’s film added, “It’s in a company’s best interest to listen to their audience, and if it’s something that’s so in demand and they got it, why not?”

“Yeah, why not? You always want to see the director’s vision,” said Joel Kinnaman, who has portrayed Colonel Rick Flag in both films. And during an appearance on the podcast in June, Kinnaman told Malkin that he was disappointed with ‘Suicide Squad’.

As per Variety, he said, “I thought the first 40 minutes of the film were fucking great, and then there were conflicting visions and it just didn’t end up being what we all hoped it was. It didn’t feel like the movie that we hoped we were going to make.”

    By ANI
WASHINGTON: Following months of speculation, MGM finally dropped the much-anticipated trailer of its upcoming film ‘House of Gucci’, wherein the film’s stars Adam Driver and Lady Gaga shined as Mr and Mrs Gucci. A series of character posters were also released before the trailer launch.

The film, directed by Ridley Scott, details the assassination of Maurizio Gucci (Driver), the grandson of renowned fashion designer Guccio Gucci, and the downfall of the Gucci family fashion dynasty.

Gaga portrays socialite Patrizia Reggiani, Maurizio’s ex-wife who was tried and convicted of orchestrating his murder after he left her for a younger woman. She served 18 years in prison, where she gained the nickname Black Widow, before being released in 2016. Salma Hayek will play Pina Auriemma, who was a clairvoyant friend of Reggiani.

“It was a name that sounded so sweet, so seductive, synonymous with worth, style, power, but that name was a curse, too,” Gaga’s Reggiani says in a voiceover opening the trailer that gives a glimpse into the lives of the Italian fashion family.

“I don’t consider myself to be a particularly ethical person. But I am fair,” Gaga adds to the tune of ‘Heart Of Glass’ by Blondie.

The trailer of the film offered all the glitz and glamour you’d expect from the Italian fashion house in the ’90s, complete with the couple’s lavish wedding, opulent lifestyle and something more sinister, a murder. Gucci fashion shows and wild nights at the disco are also part of the drama leading up to the murder.

The character posters, which were revealed a few hours before the trailer launch featured Gaga as Reggiani, Driver as Maurizio Gucci, Pacino as Aldo Gucci, Leto as Paolo Gucci and Irons as Rodolfo Gucci.

‘House of Gucci’ written by Roberto Bentivegna, is based on Sara Gay Forden’s novel ‘The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed’. The star-studded cast also includes Al Pacino, Jared Leto and Jeremy Irons. MGM, Bron Creative and Scott Free Productions have produced the film.

“This project has long been a labor of love for both Ridley and me. The story is so epic, the stakes so high and the characters so richly drawn,” said Giannina Scott, who is producing the film alongside her husband under their Scott Free banner, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

MGM’s film chairman Michael De Luca also expressed his excitement in a statement to have been a part of the studio bringing the project to life. “Nothing typifies bold, audacious originality more than a film by Ridley Scott.”

Filmed in Europe, ‘House of Gucci’ marks Gaga’s first film since ‘A Star Is Born’, which earned her Oscar and Golden Globe nominations. The film is slated to be released in the US on November 24 by United Artists Releasing.

  • Jared Leto on preparing for his character in ‘The Little Things’

    By Express News Service
Warner Bros Pictures is all set to release the triple whammy of Academy Award winners — Denzel Washington, Rami Malek and Jared Leto star in an intense psychological thriller The Little Things. Directed by John Lee Hancock from his own original screenplay, the film is set to release pan India on Jan 29, 2021.Known for being a complete chameleon on screen Oscar winner Jared Leto takes on the role of the oddly inscrutable yet enigmatic appliance delivery man named Albert Sparma who despite being highly intelligent feels underappreciated and a society outcast.

Being the edgy, method driven actor Leto is, the process he follows preparing for his roles is always so intriguing. Talking about his prep for Sparma, Leto says, “I spent a lot of time on his physicality; I was pretty adamant that it be a real transformation, that we’d go as far as we could without losing the audience, as far as the performance goes.

And that was really rewarding. It was a fun character to play because there were no rules. For whatever reasons, he’s not able to have a job that reflects his intelligence and abilities, so I think that’s why Albert is attracted to Rami and Mr.Washington’s characters, because of the complexity of their work. He thinks of himself as a part-time detective, something he does in his free time.”The Little Things will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
