Srinagar buzzed with Eid festivities on March 20 as PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, once the helm of Jammu and Kashmir’s government, shared a poignant greeting that blended celebration with a sobering reminder of global strife. Her Eid-ul-Fitr wishes came wrapped in prayers for harmony and a stark expression of worry over Iran’s humanitarian crisis.

Posting on X, Mufti conveyed her sincerest congratulations, wishing welfare and prosperity to all. She envisioned the festival fortifying bonds of communal amity, paving the way for tranquility across Jammu and Kashmir and the nation. Eid, she explained, encapsulates the essence of Ramadan—lessons in empathy, gratitude, and remembrance of the needy.

Delving into its spiritual core, Mufti portrayed Eid as a milestone signaling Ramadan’s end, an invitation to rededicate oneself to moral fortitude, restraint, endurance, and devotion. It’s also a moment to thank the divine for sustaining the fast.

Shifting focus to international affairs, she voiced profound distress over Iran’s plight, echoing her prior plea for aid via the Iranian embassy. Unity in hardship, she stressed, demands active support and shared humanity.

Mufti lauded Jammu and Kashmir’s residents for their steadfast commitment to brotherhood and peaceful coexistence, traits that enrich the area’s heritage. Concluding with invocations for universal peace and advancement, she implored using this festival to promote reconciliation and joint endeavors toward a brighter future.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha immersed himself in the spiritual glow of Jammu’s Raghunath Temple during the special ‘Jammu Aarti of Shri Raghunath Ji’ on Wednesday. Organized meticulously by the dedicated Shri Raghunath Ji ki Jammu Aarti Sanstha, the ceremony underscored a call to revive traditional practices across riverside communities.

Sinha passionately urged residents of towns and villages in Jammu division to organize regular evening aartis. He envisioned these rituals lighting up society’s consciousness towards its rich cultural tapestry, drawing the younger generation closer to sacred texts through the illuminating power of aarti lamps.

He praised the aarti as an enduring tribute to feminine divine energy and the concept of Ardhnareshwar. ‘Performed jointly by male and female devotees, it bestows heavenly grace upon every soul,’ Sinha remarked. For him, the sandhya aarti is soulful discipline—a deliberate reminder to acknowledge our existential source with profound thankfulness.

Every rising flame symbolizes complete devotion, each chant an eternal conversation, and every instant advances personal spiritual evolution. Amid modern life’s hustle, these rituals provide essential reflective moments, reconnecting us to profound inner riches that the Jammu Aarti graciously unveils for all societal strata.

Positioning Jammu as the quintessential ‘City of Temples,’ the LG highlighted initiatives to elevate it on the world spiritual tourism map. Visitors to Vaishno Devi and Amarnath will now savor the region’s mystical essence right here, invigorating local businesses in the process.

These spiritual assemblies are gateways to authentic self-discovery. Sinha exhorted youth to internalize heritage values, prioritizing spiritual wealth over worldly gains. ‘Your priceless legacy lies not in riches or status, but in the eternal inner vault,’ he concluded inspiringly.

Dr. Ritu Singh, the sanstha’s head, along with key members, prominent citizens, and a large gathering of faithful attendees, marked the occasion with unwavering devotion.

Filmmaker Ashok Pandit has unleashed a scathing critique of the violent protests rocking Jammu and Kashmir, where demonstrators brazenly unfurled an Iranian flag atop Srinagar’s Lal Chowk. In a passionate Instagram post, the social activist demanded immediate government intervention, drawing parallels to the 1990 Kashmiri Pandit genocide.

Pandit painted a grim picture of unchanged radicalism, from the blood-soaked 90s slogans demanding ‘Nizam-e-Mustafa’ and a Pakistan in Kashmir, to today’s alarming calls for ‘Kashmir to become Hezbollah.’ He accused the protesters of posing a direct threat to India’s sovereignty, labeling them as pawns in a larger divisive agenda.

With roads choked by massive crowds in the Valley and Ladakh, Pandit expressed dismay at the conspicuous absence of condemnation from political figures, including BJP leaders. The Iranian flag episode at Lal Chowk exemplifies the protesters’ growing boldness, he noted, signaling deeper foreign influences at play.

‘We must unite against these elements hell-bent on India’s fragmentation,’ Pandit implored the government. Sharing his personal scars from the 1990s atrocities, he stressed the urgency of combating this menace not just in J&K but across the nation to preserve internal peace.

As public outrage builds online, Pandit’s call echoes a broader sentiment: tolerance for such displays has run its course. The clock is ticking for decisive action.

Dawn broke over Poonch’s volatile Bhimber Gali sector with another failed infiltration bid by terrorists, promptly neutralized by the White Knight Corps of the Indian Army. On March 4, credible intel and persistent monitoring picked up unusual activity along the Line of Control, prompting an immediate response.

Battle-hardened soldiers, showcasing exceptional speed and strategy, engaged the intruders in a coordinated counter-action. The operation ensured the LoC remained impregnable, pushing back the infiltrators with decisive force.

Enhanced ground surveillance combined with aerial oversight played a crucial role in detecting the movement early. Once confirmed, troops established a tight cordon, leading to the complete frustration of the enemy’s intentions.

Following the encounter, the Army has bolstered its presence with fresh deployments and stricter monitoring protocols. High alert status prevails across the sector, reinforcing operational dominance.

In an official post on X, the Corps detailed the ‘robust response and flawless tactical execution’ that foiled the bid. Such successes highlight the relentless preparedness of Indian forces amid ongoing border tensions, ensuring security in one of the most sensitive regions.

Srinagar Police has taken bold action against a coordinated fake news operation designed to sow discord in Jammu and Kashmir. An FIR has been lodged at the Cyber Police Station targeting media outlets and online platforms guilty of spreading deliberate falsehoods.

The spokesperson highlighted how these actors are methodically circulating unverified and misleading stories across news channels, electronic media, and social networks. Their goal? To create unrest and vitiate the atmosphere in a structured manner.

These misinformation drives endanger national security and communal unity, prompting swift police intervention. Several suspect profiles have been pinpointed, with individuals called in for questioning. The probe is in full swing, and culprits can expect rigorous prosecution.

A clear directive has been sounded: disseminating fake or provocative material without verification will invite stringent legal repercussions. The public and media are advised to cross-check information solely from credible official channels to prevent escalation of tensions.

In parallel measures, the entire Kashmir Valley is under restrictions. Educational institutions from schools to universities stand shuttered, and exams have been deferred. To neutralize online provocations, internet bandwidth has been reduced, while security forces maintain a robust presence at key spots.

Srinagar Police’s proactive stance underscores their resolve to preserve law and order, leaving no room for elements aiming to undermine regional peace.

Jammu and Kashmir’s security landscape shifted dramatically as the Indian Army concluded a marathon 326-day high-altitude mission by eliminating seven high-value terrorists in Kishtwar. The White Knight Corps (16 Corps) shared the triumphant update on platform X on Monday, detailing the operation’s intensity.

Troops navigated unforgiving high-altitude zones, enduring harsh weather—bitter cold, drenching rains, and snowstorms—to pursue the elusive militants. Collaborating seamlessly with J&K Police, CRPF, and intelligence units, the forces leveraged precise intel to corner and neutralize the group in Chhatru. Fierce firefights marked several stages of this prolonged endeavor.

Cutting-edge tech bolstered the mission: FPV drones for real-time surveillance, satellite feeds for mapping, and UAVs for tactical strikes, all integrated with advanced comms. The corps praised the unyielding spirit that felled Saifullah and his cadre, proving the indomitable will of India’s defenders.

Labeling it a ‘major blow to terror infrastructure,’ the army released photos of the deceased militants, each crossed out in red. This follows the earlier success of Operation Trashi-1, where three terrorists met their end, alongside seized arms and evidence.

‘No refuge for destabilizing elements,’ the forces asserted. Last year, Chhatru’s thick woodlands hosted numerous clashes with Jaish-e-Mohammed operatives from Pakistan, who dodged pursuits by hopping districts like Doda, Kathua, and Udhampur. Today’s victory disrupts that pattern, signaling stronger territorial control.

This saga of endurance and precision reinforces the army’s commitment to eradicating terrorism, offering hope for sustained peace in the volatile region.

The magic of winter sports descends on Gulmarg as the 6th Khelo India Winter Games begins today. Nestled in Jammu and Kashmir’s breathtaking landscape, this four-day event from February 23-26 draws top talent from across the nation.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will inaugurate the competition, attended by 400 athletes representing 30 states and UTs. Perfect snow conditions have heightened expectations for record-breaking performances.

‘We’ve got 400 registered participants, and with Gulmarg’s pristine snow, this edition will be a hit,’ shared Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, J&K Sports Council. Building on the first leg in Leh (January 20-26), Gulmarg now hosts the second phase of these prestigious Games.

All previous editions have spotlighted the region, emphasizing its role in India’s winter sports ecosystem. Four medal categories – ski mountaineering, alpine skiing (most popular), Nordic skiing, and snowboarding – will keep spectators glued.

Haryana led the Leh standings with four golds in ice skating, trailed by Ladakh, Maharashtra, and Telangana. The snow leopard mascot ‘Shaan’ symbolizes the grit needed for these high-altitude pursuits, while government officials meticulously review logistics.

Beyond competition, the Games promote Himalayan traditions nationally, inspiring youth and elevating India’s presence in global winter arenas.

In a stirring address at the release of ‘Kashmir-Nativity Regained’ by Prof. Ashok Koul, Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha outlined the territory’s dramatic shift from terror to transformation. Held at Jammu University, the book chronicles the harrowing 1989-90 flight of Kashmiri Pandits, exposing the brutality that severed them from their ancestral roots.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s firm pledge for their secure rehabilitation remains paramount, with the administration fully aligned, Sinha assured. Since 2019, J&K has crushed adversarial plots targeting its people’s aspirations. ‘We’ve revived our timeless heritage and boosted progress; terrorism’s shadow will soon vanish entirely,’ he proclaimed.

Sinha lauded the publication as a vital voice against historical erasure. He honored the Pandit community’s unyielding courage, noting how they safeguarded their essence—thoughts, faith, customs—through trials, achieving remarkable successes. The 2021 migrant portal initiative targets reclaiming usurped homes and lands, addressing the profound grief of displacement.

‘Words falter recounting the heart-wrenching atrocities, including slaughters of innocent Muslims by cross-border terror,’ Sinha said. Justice is now reaching affected families, with employment and support measures underway. Article 370’s revocation ignited renewed faith for return without fear. As J&K rebuilds, Kashmiri Pandits stand central to this renaissance. Attendees included top university officials, publishers, and community leaders.

Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir escalated their fight against terrorism on Tuesday by circulating images of five alleged Pakistani militants in Kathua and Samba districts. Citizens are called upon to report any sightings to help curb potential threats.

The move stems from shared intelligence highlighting infiltration risks from across the border, sourced from agencies in Punjab. Posters emblazoned with ‘Public Information’ promise anonymity to tipsters and list contact numbers for security forces including the Army, CRPF, police, and BSF.

In response to these inputs, operations have ramped up in multiple districts: Kathua, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Doda, and Samba. Security personnel are conducting extensive patrols, setting up additional checkpoints, and scouring border and interior areas to eliminate terrorists and their support networks.

Just days earlier, Doda police put up posters of Saifullah Baloch, a key Pakistan-based operative active in Chenab Valley, signaling relentless pursuit of foreign terrorists.

Kathua’s administration took preemptive action Saturday, banning unnecessary movement near the International Border over a 5-km stretch. District Magistrate Rajesh Sharma cited BNSS Section 163, empowering swift restrictions to maintain order and protect lives amid firing and subversive threats.

DG Nalin Prabhat’s Friday inspection in Samba involved detailed discussions with police and civil officials, focusing on bolstering alertness in vulnerable zones.

These steps align with Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent mandate for a zero-tolerance policy on terror, pushing for complete infiltration prevention through aggressive, mission-driven strategies.

On the anniversary of one of India’s darkest days, the nation pauses to salute the Pulwama martyrs. Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s powerful statement set the tone, branding terrorism as the ultimate adversary to humankind while pledging India’s ironclad resolve for its total destruction.

Posting on social media platform X, Shah paid obeisance to the soldiers who perished in the dastardly 2019 attack.
