  • Bravo, Jadeja, Moeen: Check what the Super Kings had to say after CSK win IPL 2021

DUBAI: Dwayne Bravo said as it should be said, “Experience beats youth any day”.

The West Indies all-rounder once again played his part to perfection in Chennai Super King’s fourth Indian Premier League title triumph and summed up the journey of his side which his team-mate Moeen Ali termed “humble and grounded”.

Deepak Chahar, on his part, said the love and loyalty for skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni made the players push the envelope a little harder.

“It’s about the belief in the squad from management, owners. After last season, I was really disappointed. We owed it to the franchise, the fans to come up with a better performance. I don’t get nervous (coming into a final),” Bravo said after the match.

“I have had good performance in different phases of the tournament. Faf and Ruturaj standout for us. To have these two guys scoring over 500 runs together. Experience beats youth any day,” he said.

England all-rounder Moeen expressed his gratitude when he wasn’t dropped after a few indifferent games.

“I can’t describe how I’m feeling. To do it with this franchise is great. I could’ve been dropped a couple of games ago. It’s such a grounded and humble team,” said Moeen.

Ravindra Jadeja on his part said: “That catch of Venkatesh Iyer changed it for us. Mr DJ Bravo is going to entertain us all night. It’s time for him to change his name from ‘Champion’ to ‘Sir Champion’.”

Robin Uthappa, who joined the party late, also spoke about how CSK made players secure.

“I’ve voiced over and over again that in this team, there’s secure atmosphere, lot of communication between players and support staff. I believe its the players who aren’t playing in the XI that make the atmosphere within the group.”

“A bit of downtime, and I’m straight for the World Cup. Perfect preparation really, and I am looking forward to it.”

Samson, however, couldn’t provide any update on how Jadeja’s hamstring is after he suffered a niggle and needed heavy strapping during the 19th over bowled by Josh Hazlewood.  “I don’t know how Jaddu bhai is feeling as the physio is taking care of that.”

  • A big shock to Team India, Ravindra Jadeja out of T20 series

The T20 series is being played between India (Australia) and Australia (Australia). Before the second match of this series, Team India suffered a big setback. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been dropped from the team. This decision has been taken due to injury to him. Let us know that on their own, Team India has won the last ODI and the first T20 match. But now due to injury, he will not be able to play the series further.

Fast bowler Shardul Thakur has found a place after Ravindra Jadeja was dropped from the team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India gave an update about Jadeja’s health. He said Jadeja is under surveillance and will be taken for further scans if needed on Saturday. Jadeja, who led India to a stunning score of 161 runs, was hit at the helmet in the final over of the innings, while earlier he was troubled by a leg.

The BCCI has issued a statement in this regard. He said, “Ravindra Jadeja maintained a continuity after injuring his forehead on the left over of the first over of the first innings of the first T20 match against Australia in Canberra on 4 December 2020. He was confirmed sick by the BCCI medical team on the basis of clinical evaluation in the dressing room during the innings break. Jadeja is under observation and will be taken for further scans if required based on the assessment on Saturday morning. He will not take part in the series further. “

  • Natarajan, Chahal shine as India beats Australia by 11 runs to take 1-0 lead

A spirited all-round performance from India saw them register a comprehensive 11-run win over Australia in the first T20I here at the Manuka Oval on Friday. The 1-0 lead in the three-match series is just how the visitors would have wanted to start after losing the ODI series 2-1.

If KL Rahul (51) and Ravindra Jadeja (unbeaten 44 off 23 balls) guided India to a respectable 161/7 in their 20 overs, Yuzvendra Chahal — brought in as concussion substitute for Jadeja — took the stage by storm with ball in hand and finished with match-winning figures of 3/25. Not to forget the brilliant show from debutant T Natarajan as he picked three wickets for 30 runs from his four.

Chahal took the field in the second innings after all-rounder Jadeja was hit on the helmet in the last over of the India innings and the BCCI medical team decided to assess the player before allowing him to get on with proceedings. Chahal was brilliantly supported by Natarajan as the former changed the momentum of the game despite not being named in the initial playing XI.

Chasing a decent target of 162, Aaron Finch and D’Arcy Short provided a flying start. The duo added 53 runs in the powerplay and smashed Indian bowlers across the park.

Chahal, in his first over, removed skipper Finch (35) in the eighth over. Steve Smith joined Short in the middle and accumulated 16 runs for the second wicket. The team then suffered a blow as they lost two quick wickets in successive overs. Chahal struck again and bagged in-form batsman Smith (12) while Natarajan caught explosive batter Glenn Maxwell (2) in front of the wickets.

Short and all-rounder Moises Henriques then stitched a partnership in pursuit of the target. The duo dragged the side from 75/3 to 113/4 before Short was picked by the Tamil Nadu speedster in the 15th over. Short played a slow knock of 34 runs off 38 balls and held one end up.

  • Will maintain this rhythm of victory even further: Virat

Although the Indian team lost the series 1-2, but for the last match, Virat made a change in the team which benefited and the team managed to win the last ODI.

Virat said after the match, “We were under pressure during Australia’s batting. With the arrival of Shubman and other new players, there was some freshness in the final match. The pitch for this match was better for bowlers. Face it We did well in the ball and fielding. I am happy with the performance of the team and hope that the team will carry the same rhythm in the future. “

Virat said about his batting and the performance of Jadeja and Pandya, “I wanted to take my innings forward and spend time on the pitch. Pandya and Jadeja had a great partnership.
