A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai concluded, with several significant decisions made. The meeting took place on August 19, 2025, at the Mahanadi Bhawan in the Ministry. A major decision was made regarding the distribution of chickpeas in the Public Distribution System (PDS).

The cabinet has decided that the necessary 2 kg of chickpeas distributed monthly under the PDS to Antyodaya and priority category families residing in the scheduled areas and MADA pocket areas of the state will be procured by the Civil Supplies Corporation through the NeML e-auction platform. This procurement will be done at a transaction/service charge of 0.25% or less, as approved for the financial year 2024-25.

Furthermore, the cabinet has directed that beneficiaries who did not collect chickpeas from July 2025 to November 2025, be provided with their entitlement by December 2025.

Another key decision involves the development of Nava Raipur as an IT hub. The cabinet decided to allocate a 90-acre land plot at a discounted premium rate to encourage the establishment of Information Technology (IT/IITS) industries in Nava Raipur. This move aims to attract investment in the IT sector and boost industrial development. The availability of land at a concessional rate will facilitate private sector participation and create new employment opportunities. This initiative is expected to promote not only technical and economic activities in Nava Raipur, but also strengthen the settlement and urbanization processes. The establishment of IT companies will lead to the development of infrastructure in the area, which will directly and indirectly benefit local residents.

Navigating Bengaluru’s roads has become a gamble, with travel times fluctuating wildly. A mere two kilometers can consume two hours, while the fortunate might cover five kilometers in a swift 15 minutes. This unpredictability stems from a confluence of factors, including the impact of rain, which can bring the city’s traffic to a standstill. The issue is so pervasive that distances are often measured in minutes and hours rather than kilometers. Karnataka’s Deputy CM, DK Shivakumar, proposes underground tunnel roads as a solution, sparking debate. The city’s rapid, unplanned growth, fueled by IT expansion and migration, has overwhelmed existing infrastructure. The influx of vehicles, coupled with insufficient public transport, exacerbates the problem. Recent reports indicate Bengaluru is among the slowest cities globally, with the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and the Silk Road junction being particularly congested. The Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) cites multiple causes, including the lack of peripheral road networks, monsoon-related waterlogging, and a high number of registered vehicles.
