A fourth straight defeat in the IPL 2020 has seen Kings XI Punjab slip to the bottom of the points-table. After starting their campaign with a close defeat to Delhi Capitals in the Super Over, Kings XI Punjab beat Royal Challengers Bangalore comprehensively by 97 runs for their first win. But ever since, the side has endured losses to Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and now Sunrisers Hyderabad. While there may be certain issues plaguing the team, the one factor that cannot go hidden is the failure of key player Glenn Maxwell with the bat. In six IPL games, Maxwell has scored 1, 5, 13, 11, 11* and 7, which are pretty poor numbers for someone of calibre. With KXIP desperately in need to avert their slide, former England captain Kevin Pietersen feels the team needs to start looking beyond Maxwell. “These guys (KXIP) will have to get something out of Maxwell. You cannot keep an overseas player’s spot like this. Glenn Maxwell hasn’t scored at all in this IPL,” Pietersen during commentary. “Rahul hasn’t got the support from his overseas players. Yes, Pooran scored runs today, but one player is Maxwell. Maxwell either has to be sidelined or he gets just one more opportunity,” he added later during the post-match show.

Shah Rukh Khan Shouts His Iconic Dialogue From Stands, Rahul Tripathi Bursts Into Laughter. Watch
IPL 2020, KKR vs CSK: Shah Rukh Khan shouted one of his iconic dialogues from the stands as Rahul Tripathi collected his player of the match trophy. (KKR) bowlers managed to dry out the runs in the second half of Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) chase to register a 10-run win over last season’s runners up in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Wednesday. Rahul Tripathi was the star for KKR as he played a crucial knock of 81 to help his side set up a 168-run target for CSK. For his heroics with the bat, Rahul Tripathi was adjudged player of the match. As the opener from Maharashtra approached to collect his award, Shah Rukh Khan, co-owner of the Kolkata-based franchise, shouted his iconic dialogue ‘Rahul naam to suna hoga’ from the stands as Rahul Tripathi burst into laughter.
With a new opening combination of Rahul Tripathi and Shubman Gill, KKR got off to a good start.
The duo put on 37 runs before Shardul Thakur sent back Gill. Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell failed with the bat but late flourish from Pat Cummins and Dinesh Karthik made sure that KKR put a competitive total on the board.
Dwayne Bravo was the pick of the bowlers for CSK as he finished with figures of three for 37. Listen to the latest songs, only on JioSaavn.com
In reply, CSK lost the in-form Faf du Plessis in the fourth over but Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson then put on 69 runs for the second wicket.
CSK, at one stage, were cruising in the chase at 90 for one after 10 overs but an over cautious approach in the middle saw the MS Dhoni-led side fell 10 runs short of the target and stumbled to their fourth defeat this season.

Delhi Capitals’ bench-strength good enough for another IPL team, says Ashwin
After registering an emphatic 59-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) here on Monday, Delhi Capitals’ (DC) off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin hailed the bench strength of the side, saying that it is good enough to form another Indian Premier League (IPL) team.
Before the match against RCB, Delhi received a big blow as spinner Amit Mishra was ruled out of the tournament due to a finger injury. In place of Mishra, Axar Patel was given a chance against the Virat Kohli-led side, and he responded impressively with figures of 2-18 from his four overs.
“That’s one of the beauty of this particular Delhi side. Even when my shoulder dislocated, Amit came in and played the role. Now he is injured, so Axar has come in and played the role. There is enough strength on our bench and sometimes when it comes to the IPL, the people coming out of that bench become very important. That bench is probably good enough to be another IPL team, it has got a lot of quality,” Ashwin said during the post-match press conference. -
3 players you can pick as captain or vice-captain for today’s match
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Delhi Capitals (DC) lock horns in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) tonight.
Both teams have had excellent starts to their respective campaigns, and have registered 3 wins from their first 4 games each. The winner of the RCB vs DC IPL 2020 game will go to the top of the points table.
DC suffered a loss to the Sunrisers Hyderabad thanks to a Rashid Khan special, but turned things around against the Kolkata Knight Riders courtesy of splendid performances from Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw and Anrich Nortje. The team looks formidable, both on paper and on the IPL 2020 table, with star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also back to full fitness.

Editorial :- Bhaajapa ke Dhoni, Gambheer, Vishvaas Bhee Honge Staar Prachaarak: Congress ke Saath Kaun?
It is such a report that Dhoni and Gambhir, the cricket great and Kumar Vishwas, will be the BJP’s star campaigners in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as well as the candidates. Now the question arises that who will be with the Congress?
BJP chief Amit Shah met Indian captain MS Dhoni as part of a contact campaign to support the BJP. There is a possibility that they may be the candidate of Lok Sabha from BJP in Jharkhand. In such a situation, Congress can take the support of Yashwant Sinha.
BJP can replace Leopardi with Gautam Gambhir from New Delhi constituency, in which BJP leadership is not happy with his work as an existing Lok Sabha member. In his tenure he has not seen significant activism.
A BJP leader said that the report from Meenakshi Lekhi about the land is not good. People of their constituency are not happy with their work and the party leadership has decided that they will not be repeated this time as the New Delhi candidate. Gautam Gambhir, will be the most likely candidate. They have wide acceptance and are known for their social work. They are residents of the same area in Delhi. ”
Now the question arises that the Congress is against them or what choice do you have with the party? It is possible that in such a situation, Shatrughan Sinha can be brought to the ground. Although it is also said that he can be a candidate for opposition against PM Modi from Varanasi.
“There is wide acceptability, respect and reliability across the country for both Gambhir and Dhoni, and they are considered as leaders of all sections of the society. They are not only leaders of their respective states but also leaders of the country. Dhoni is currently the captain of the Chennai Super Kings team in the IPL (Indian Premier League) and thus has his reach and support in the southern parts of India. ÓO
Recently we had seen how serious Gautam Gambhir was when when some anti-national forces tried to play against the country’s integrity against the soldiers. If BJP uses their popularity for canvasing across the country then it will not be surprising now.
Even MS Dhoni has been attracted to the Indian Army and he is also a para-commando. The entire nation knows that BJP holds complete loyalty to the Indian Army, while the opposition, especially the Congress, has been showing disrespect in respect to the Indian Army and the Army Chief. The surgical sticker has also been tested.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP is trying to include Dhoni and Gambhir in the form of their star campaigners to campaign for the party all over the country.
Another senior BJP leader said that one of the founding members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Kumar Vishwas – is also in touch with the party leadership at the center and can get a ticket to contest Lok Sabha elections from Ghaziabad. Uttar Pradesh. Ghaziabad seat is currently the Minister of State for External Affairs (retired) VK Singh, who has expressed the desire to contest from any other Lok Sabha constituency, according to party sources.
In such a situation, the question is still present in the hands of the Congress against them. The Congress seems to be forced to re-run the UP Congress president in the last Lok Sabha elections, defeating the contestant, Raj Babbar.
Now it will depend on the public that the BJP’s Dhoni will express his belief with serious and confident or against the BJP’s enemy Sinha.

Dwayne Bravo is mentor to all young Chennai Super Kings bowlers,
“Bravo is massively important from two perspectives. He is an incredibly experienced cricketer. His ability to control in those middle overs, when we need some control (and) bowl to his field is wonderful to watch,” the former bowling coach of Indian team said ahead of CSK’s match against Mumbai Indians.
“The number of balls he bowls that go down the ground for one or to the square for one, he exactly knows what’s going to happen… is hugely important. And then the third component is the amount of mentorship he does for our bowlers. He does lot of talking, lot of advising,” Simons said.
However, there is room for improvement as far as CSK bowlers are concerned.
“There are certain lengths we would like to improve on, lines we would like to improve on and work on them all the time but we also very aware of the fact that this is a long tournament and we are not even near the halfway mark yet. And I feel, we are improving but we would like to give our batsmen less to chase,” he signed off.
Simons also waxed eloquent about Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s marvellous effort against Royal Challengers Bangalore the other night.
“MS might look unorthodox but he is very effective, that’s the way he plays. He reads the game. He senses where the game changes. Against the RCB the other night, it was all about reading the game, understanding who were their key bowlers and who is going to target at the back end and that’s what MS is about,” the bowling coach said.

Records Tumble as Shreyas Iyer Slams 93* on Captaincy Debut
Shreyas Iyer has become the talk of the town after the youngster guided Delhi Daredevils to only their second win of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Friday.
During the course of his innings, Iyer took the numero uno spot in the list of highest runs scored on captaincy debut in the Indian Premier League. Iyer surpassed the likes of Aaron Finch, Murali Vijay and Adam Gilchrist to take the top spot in this illustrious list.

Sachin Tendulkar: 31
Suresh Raina: 34
Gautam Gambhir: 36
Rohit Sharma/ MS Dhoni/ Ajinkya Rahane: 37

Ashwin’s Stern Message to Out-of-form KXIP
More often than not, a target of 133 would not be defended in today’s day and age of T20 cricket. But in the on-going season of the IPL, the Sunrisers Hyderabad have not only defended 133, but also previously managed to defend 119. On Thursday evening, when they achieved one of the said feats, the opponents or victims of some fantastic bowling and fielding was the Kings XI Punjab.
The KXIP side which has Chris Gayle at the top of the order along with KL Rahul began in their usual busy manner before Rashid Khan and Basil Thampi engineered what would be eventually a middle order collapse. After the loss of the two openers, the Punjab batsmen could manage only another 62 runs as they crumbled under pressure and succumbed to a 13-run defeat.
A rather disappointed KXIP captain R Ashwin was quoted by the Hindustan Times saying, “These things (batting collapse) happen in this kind of a tournament and Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling made the difference. We lost wickets throughout the middle (overs) and I thought we kept attacking a little too much and lost few wickets,” he said after the match. For Ashwin’s side, the middle-order has been a problem and it was at the forefront once again. For the Punjab franchise, the main scoring batsmen so far have been Gayle, Rahul and Karun Nair. The rest together total a little over 100 runs in the season.
After the loss, Ashwin said he hoped that batsmen will pull up their socks and come good in due course of time.
“We do have finishers but they are not coming off. You won’t get all the puzzles solved at once. Hopefully, some of the people whom we have trusted will come good at the right time. That’s how you get going. They are quality players,” he said. -
It Won’t be Easy to Score Big Runs in Knockouts
Chennai Super Kings registered a narrow four-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad, as the former move to top of the points table in IPL. Chennai managed to defend their lowest total this season (182), courtesy some tight bowling by pacer Deepak Chahar who returned with figures of 3/15 in his four overs.
Bowling, till now in the current edition of the tournament has been difficult. But Chennai skipper MS Dhoni feels that as the tournament progresses, big runs will be hard to come by.
“Wickets have gone better. If you compare it to the first few editions of the IPL, these wickets are very good batting surfaces. You also need to give credit to the batsmen as they’re getting stronger. They’re making plans as to which bowler bowls what. As we get into the knockout stages, we’ll see the bowlers coming up with new plans and it won’t be easy for the batsmen to score the kind of runs they’re scoring so far,” he said in the post-match interaction.
In the match, SRH had staged a dramatic comeback. After being 71/4 at one stage, they managed to take the game till the last ball, where six runs were needed.
“I won’t say what we were talking about (discussion with Bravo before the last ball). I wanted him to change his plan. At times even the best – Bravo – need a bit of advice. That’s what they’re paid for,” said Dhoni.
Dhoni went on to praise Deepak Chahar and other bowlers, who held their nerve in the tense situation. “What’s important is to give them – the younger bowlers – as many games as possible. Deepak swings the ball and lends balance with his batting down the order. Shardul (Thakur) had a few bad games. Last international series wasn’t good for him. But he has the right attitude and also the variations.”

Rishabh Pant Needs Support From Gambhir and Co to Turn Delhi’s Fortune
Pundits felt Rishabh Pant’s knock against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday was one of the best they had seen from the wicket-keeper batsman, but Delhi Daredevils once again ended on the losing side as AB de Villiers ensured that RCB romped home. And with the loss, DD are now sitting at the bottom of the points table with two points after 5 games with just one win.
And the main reason behind this is the lack of support for Pant from the other Daredevils batsmen. While the team started well with skipper Gautam Gambhir hitting 55 in the first game against Kings XI Punjab, there have been few noteworthy performances from the batters in the team. In fact, Shreyas Iyer’s score of 52 in the last game was also another one-off show as he has otherwise managed to score just 94 runs in all.
Pant is Delhi’s top run getter this season by a substantial margin. His aggregate of 223 runs in 5 innings is 32 runs more than the aggregate score of the next two leading run getters for DD. Jason Roy and Shreyas Iyer have aggregated 97 runs and 94 runs respectively. Pant has hit 37 boundaries, the most by any DD player this season, which is still 3 more than the cumulative boundaries of Roy, Iyer and Gambhir. He also has the best strike rate among DD batsmen. Pant has a strike rate of 176.98 which is marginally better than Maxwell’s strike rate of 176.08 and Morris’ (176.92).
In fact, after Pant’s 48-ball 85 against RCB, Mandeep Singh said he saw shadows of Yuvraj Singh in the batsman.
“Rishabh is amazing. When we were growing up, we used to talk about Yuvraj Singh. Yuvi paa used to hit those big sixes more than anyone else. I think, in this generation, Rishabh is one name, who can smack sixes like him (Yuvraj) at will. He has immense ability,” Mandeep said.
