Contributions from Russell and Rinku Singh propelled KKR to a commanding total of 272/7 in their allotted 20 overs.

Rinku believes that Andre ‘The Muscle’ takes the title of hitting the longest six. “They both (Russell and Narine) have a lot of power. Russell, the Muscle, hits such big sixes. Even Sunny (Sunil Narine) hits big sixes. You look at their arms and mine. I do not have that much power, I just time the ball.”

Russell and Narine are IPL legends, having won the IPL with KKR. In 114 matches, Russell has made 2,326 runs at an average of 29.82 and a strike rate of over 175. He has 11 fifties in his IPL career, with the best score of 88*. He has also taken 100 wickets.

Narine is primarily a bowler, having taken 165 wickets in 164 matches. However, he often opens the batting as a hitter, scoring 1,095 runs at an average of 14.04, with a strike rate of over 160. He has four half-centuries and a best score of 75. (“Must Be A RCB Fan”, Girl Spotted Watching ‘Friends’ On Phone During RCB vs LSG Clash In IPL 2024, Internet Reacts)

Rinku, on the other hand, is a domestic cricket star from Uttar Pradesh, who shot to fame last year by smashing Gujarat Titans’ Yash Dayal for five successive sixes in the final over to complete a tense 200-plus run chase.

The 2023 IPL season was a breakthrough one for him, scoring 474 runs in 14 matches at an average of 59.25 and a strike rate of almost 150. He scored four half-centuries. In this season, he has played two matches and managed scores of 23 and 5* so far.

His IPL stats are: 753 runs in 33 matches at an average of 35.86 and a strike rate of 142.08, with four fifties. His best score is 67*. He signed with KKR in 2018 after spending time on the sidelines with the Punjab Kings (PBKS) back in 2017.

  • RCB Brutally TROLLED As Memes Pour In After Loss To LSG In IPL 2024; Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell Produce Flop Show | cricket news

It was another poor outing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2024 on Tuesday night as they lost their second successive match in the league. Lucknow Super Giants effected a 28-run win with the hosts struggling in all departments of the game. This is also RCB’s third loss in four games. RCB had the upper edge from the start as they won the toss at M Chinnaswamy stadium. This is a ground where chasing is easy and defending is very difficult and as expected, captain Faf du Plessis decided to bowl first. Quinton de Kock struck a brilliant 82 while Nicholas Pooran smashed a quickfire 42 to take LSG to 181 for 5 in 20 overs.

Bowlers still did a good job to stop LSG from scoring near 200. But the batters disappointed a lot. Virat Kohli, du Plessis and Rajat Patidar, who form the top order, got starts but could not convert them into big innings.

Mahipal Lomror also batted well for his 33 but it was never going to be enough as others gave up their guns. As a result, RCB lost another game at home, which is a huge setback for the Bengaluru side.

RCB were trolled massively by the fans as they made jokes and memes after the loss to LSG. Take a look below.

Not to forget, despite no trophies, RCB remain a huge brand in IPL. They have one of the biggest fanbases in the league. But somehow, this team continues to show inconsistency in their performances throughout the tournament.

Mayank Yadav stood out for LSG again as he broke his own record for fastest delivery in the league, bowling a 156.7 kph delivery. He has now won 2 Man of the Match Awards in his two-match IPL career.

RCB are on ninth in the IPL 2024 points table now after the defeat. Their NRR is -0.876. The fact that they have lost 2 matches at home means they need to win a few away matches now in order to qualify for the playoffs. A poor start to the campaign makes it harder to qualify for the playoffs. If RCB are to qualify, they must look to produce all-round show in the coming games. In their first defeat at home, they were unable to defend 182 runs. In their second loss at Chinnaswamy, they failed to chase down 182. That pretty much sums up their issues.

  • BCCI Makes 2 Changes In IPL 2024 Schedule; KKR Vs RR, GT Vs DC Matches Moved To New Dates | cricket news

The BCCI has announced changes to the schedule of two Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 matches. Slated for April 17, 2024, the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, will now be held a day earlier on April 16, 2024. Additionally, the match between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals, initially planned for April 16, 2024, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, will now take place on April 17, 2024.

In the IPL release, there is no mention of the reason of the changes but it was earlier reported that it could be to do with the festival of Ram Navmi which falls on April 17. The festival is celebrated widely in Gujarat and West Bengal and it could be one of the reasons why BCCI made the changes as security arrangement could have been a big hassle for the cities of Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

Check updated schedule of two matches here:

S.No Day Date Match Venue 1 Tuesday April 16 KKR vs RR Eden Gardens, Kolkata 2 Wednesday

    April 17th

GT vs DC Narendra Modi stadium, Ahmedabad

The league has already seen 14 games. Mumbai Indians find themselves in a spot of bother with three losses on the go. These include 2 defeats in away matches while MI also lost one match, to Rajasthan Royals, at home. Their captain Hardik Pandya also remains a target for Mumbai fans as they gave him a hostile reception on coming back to Wankhede in Mumbai jersey. MI are currently placed right at the bottom of the points table.

On the top of the standings are RR, who have won all three matches played so far in the tournament. Second are KKR who have all 2 they have played so far. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) played 3 and won 2 with their only defeat so far coming against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Visakhapatnam.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have a lot to catch up as well. RCB have blown hot and cold in the tournament so far, winning a tight game but losing two one-sided matches, against CSK and KKR.

Former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma was seen calming down the crowd at Wankhede during the IPL 2024 game between home side Mumbai Indians and visitors Rajasthan Royals. The match was won by RR but throughout the game the anti-Hardik Pandya slogans were heard in the stadium. Hardik felt he was playing in an away contest in his homeground in IPL as he was constantly booed at the Wankhede stadiums. It all started at the toss when commentator Sanjay Manjrekar asked the crowd to behave when the booed as soon as Hardik’s name was called.

But the crowd was relentless in their pursuit to prove that this team was still Rohit Sharma’s. Every time, Hardik’s name was taken in the stadium or he came on the big screen, the fans chanted ‘Rohit, Rohit’. Hardik could be seen visibly disturbed when the crowd booed once again as he dropped a catch.

Even Rohit could see the hostile nature of the Wankhede crowd which he had not seen before in IPL for their own player. While fielding in the deep, Rohit made a gesture to the fans sitting in that section of the crowd to calm down. The cameras captured him doing this and the video went viral instantly.

Coming to the match, Mumbai produced one of the worst performances in years as they were restricted to just 125 for 9 in 20 overs. Trent Boult demolished MI’s top-order, reducing them to 20 for 4 inside four overs. Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya played knocks of 32 and 34 runs respectively to steady the innings but soon they too departed and MI kept on losing wickets from thereon, eventually finishing with just 125 on the board. RR too had a bad start but Riyan Parag played another fine innings of unbeaten 54 runs to see the team through as the visitors registered their third win on the trot.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) have jumped to the top of the points table with three consecutive wins to their names. They are looking in solid form. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have dropped to second spot followed by Chennai Super Kings at the third. The bottom four teams are Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians.

Following his side’s 21-run win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match, Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mayank Yadav, who impressed everyone with his fiery pace of above 150 kmph on his debut, said that he was not nervous.

Debutant Mayank Yadav’s magnificent four over spell restricted the Punjab Kings (PBKS) to 178/5 and helped his side Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to a victory by 21 runs at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Following the game, Mayank said in the post-match presentation, “I have always heard from others that there is nervousness in debuts but that goes away after the first ball. My plan was to not be under too much pressure, to bowl at the stumps and to use the pace as much as possible. There was the thought of mixing up the pace initially but the wicket helped and the skipper told me to bowl quick. The debut wicket was the favourite. Coming off the injury last season was tough, I would set my goal to debut at a young age but injuries were a setback.”

Mayank has played two first-class matches, 17 List-A games and 11 T20 matches. He represents Delhi at the domestic level, having made his List-A debut in 2021 and his first-class debut in 2022. He was chosen as the ‘Player of the Match’ for his spell of 3/27, getting wickets of Jonny Bairstow. , Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma.

LSG elected to bat first after winning the toss. Quinton de Kock (54 in 38 balls, with five fours and two sixes), skipper Nicholas Pooran (42 in 21 balls, with three fours and three sixes) and Krunal Pandya (43* in 22 balls, with four boundaries and two sixes) helped LSG reach 199/8 in 20 overs. There was a 47-run partnership between Kock and Pooran for the fourth wicket that helped LSG settle following some quick wickets.

Sam Curran (3/28) and Arshdeep Singh (3/30) were the pick of the bowlers for PBKS. Rahul Chahar and Kagiso Rabada took a wicket each.

In the run chase, skipper Shikhar Dhawan (70 in 50 balls, with seven fours and three sixes) and Jonny Bairstow (42 in 29 balls, with three fours and three sixes) kicked things off with a 102-run opening partnership. But Mayank’s fiery spell derailed PBKS’s efforts, reducing them to 141/4 in 16.2 overs. Liam Livingstone (28* in 17 balls, with two fours and two sixes) tried to fight out but PBKS was restricted to 178/5 in their 20 overs. Mohsin Khan also picked up two wickets for 34 runs.

LSG is at the fifth place in the points table with two points, having won one match and lost one. PBKS is at sixth place, with a win and two losses, giving them two points.

  • IPL 2024: Hailing Mayank Yadav’s Speed, Ex-Pakistan Pacer Takes Potshots At Umran Malik | cricket news

After Mayank Yadav bowled a 155.8 kph delivery in IPL 2024 contest between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Ekana, he has become a toast of the nation. It is rare to find a fast bowler in India who hits 150 kph or more consistently. Mayank is just 21 years old and can bowl in the 150 kph range consistently. He finished with a match-winning and award-winning spell of 3 for 27 for LSG but it was his pace that brought the attention of the world to him. He got praise from all over the world, not least just India.

Former West Indies pacer Ian Bishop, Aussie legend Brett Lee and SA pace sensation Dale Steyn all hailed the superman show by quick Mayank. Like Umran Malik in 2022, Mayank has become the face of the fastest bowlers in IPL 2024.

Pakistanis were also impressed with Mayank. Pakistan is one country which has consistently produced genuine fast bowlers. Ex-Pakistan captain and wicketkeeper Rashid Latif called Mayank new sensation in IPL. Pakistani fans also commended the effort of Mayank. While former pacer Junaid Khan too had great things to say about Mayank, he took a potshot at Umran, who clocked a 157kph delivery in 2022.

Taking to Junaid wrote: “Good to see the youngster Mayank Yadav bowling 150kmh+ but hoping he can continue like this just as @shoaib100mph did and not like Umran Malik who bowled 150+ in 1 season and next he was bowling 140kmh.”

It would be interesting to see how Umran reacts to these comments. Umran is yet to bowl his quickest ball in IPL. He is playing this season with an aim to make a comeback to the Indian national team.

Mayank impressed Kevin Pietersen too. England batter posted on X about the Indian youngster, saying the spell must have impressed the great West Indian fast bowler Ian Bishop. Brett Lee tweeted: “India has just found its fastest bowler. Mayank Yadav. Raw pace, Very impressive.”

Indian selectors must keep an eye on this Delhi-born pacer, who was ignored by Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings at the trials.

    More on Mayank Yadav

Mayank rose to prominence with brilliant show in CK Nayudu Trophy in which he picked 15 wickets in only 6 matches. He then played for Delhi in Syed Mushtaq Ali Tro[hy and grabbed 5 wickets at an economy of 6.5. He finished with 6 wickets in Vijay Hazare Trophy wherein he played 5 matches. In 2023 Deodhar Trophy, he picked up 12 wickets in 5 matches for North Zone. Mayank missed the entire IPL 2023 due to injury but is looking to make the most of the 2024 season.
