    Dhoni played the last IPL with a knee injury which hindered his ability to run between the wickets. In June, Dhoni underwent surgery at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai.

    CSK's preparatory camp began on March 2, with the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Mukesh Choudhary and Prashant Solanki joining the camp at Chepauk. CSK suffered an injury blow before the beginning of the season as New Zealand opener Devon Conway is expected to miss at least the first half of the tournament after undergoing thumb surgery. Conways sustained a blow on his finger during New Zealand's third T20I against Australia.

    CSK will kick off their campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first game of the IPL 2024, at Chepauk, on March 22.

    As per temple officials, the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony will be held for seven days starting on January 16. VVIPs and top dignitaries from diverse fields and occupations receiving invitations from the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust for the grand event on January 22,

    The Trust has made elaborate arrangements to welcome and honor all attendees and will present them with a range of gifts that include ‘Ram Raj.’ As part of the celebration, Teerth Kshetra Trust will also distribute special ‘Motichoor laddus’ made from desi ghee as ‘Prasad’ (ceremonial offering) to the guests.

    More than 11,000 guests nationwide have received invitations from the Trust for the Pran Pratistha ceremony, with special arrangements underway to provide memorable gifts to all attendees. Chahal was not even told about this decision by the franchise, had revealed in a podcast. Fair to say, the relationship between Chahal and RCN did not end on a bright note. Chahal has played two seasons now for Royals and has done well for them.

    In a video which is going viral on the internet, Chahal has been heard making fun of RCB’s bowling lineup. After releasing the likes of Josh Hazlewood, Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel which formed the nuclei of a well-settled bowling attack, they bought Alzarri Joseph, Tom Curran, Yash Dayal and Lockie Ferguson. The bowling lineup also includes Cameron Green, Mohammed Siraj and Reece Topley. The RCB fans were upset with the team when the likes of Hazlewood, Hasaranga were released and not bought back.

    It will be interesting to see how the likes of Fad du Plessis and Virat Kohli, current and former captain of RCB, react to Chahal’s reaction. Chahal is a good friend of du Plessis and very close to Kohli. RCB’s reaction would also be interesting to see here.

    In a podcast with Gaurav Kapur, Shami was asked about the same episode and the fast bowler did not mince his words and spoke his heart out. Shami said that when he saw Hardik lash out on him, he did not feel right.

    Shami said that he later told Hardik and the team management that he does not like being lashed out at by anyone on the field especially with the camera on every player.

    “Once Hardik had reacted aggressively towards me. At that time, I had told him ‘Bhai, there is a lot of responsibility. Management also came and it was my power. I am not a human being. I do not mean anything to anyone. I am still in the job. It means. I am important because of my actions. But I don’t want these dirty reactions on the screen. You say something, I say something, then the team environment gets affected. So that should not be created. After our day We didn’t react at all,” said Shami.


    Today, Shami and Hardik are teammates in India. They have already put the incident in the past. The cricketers have played enough cricket with and against each other to understand that respect is a big part of the game and that lack of it can never help a team.

    Incidentally, when Hardik injured himself during the Cricket World Cup 2023, he was replaced in the Indian playing 11 for the remaining matches by Shami, who went on to have a wonderful tournament with the ball. In IPL 2024, Shami will be bowling to Hardik, not just in the nets but in the matches as the GT captain has shifted base. Hardik was traded in to Mumbai Indians (MI) from GT in an all-cash deal.
